Adopted Son Repays The Poor Couple Who Took Him In As A Kid By Giving Them Their Dream Life, Goes Viral
Nanay and Tatay were poor and did not have much. But it was enough to change one child’s life. The couple from the Philippines adopted a little boy and gave him everything they could. And even though their life wasn’t easy as he was growing up, Jayvee Lazaro Badile II became a successful man. As he was climbing up the social ladder, Jayvee vowed he would provide a much better life to the two people who loved him more than themselves. So he did.

In a Facebook post that eventually went viral, Jayvee shared a collage of photos with his adoptive parents. “Nanay is a vendor, Tatay is a porter,” he wrote. “Now that I have the chance to give back to them, I will make sure they will live their dreams better than what they could ever imagine.”

“I was 3 months old when Nanay and Tatay adopted me,” Jayvee told Bored Panda. “Life was very difficult. I had to be working as a student, and we were happy if Na got to make 2 meals a day. On top of that, we lived in a 20-square-meters (215 square foot) apartment.”

“I paid for the house in cash and it was built in a year. It has 7 bedrooms, and we didn’t bring anything from the old place except the TV I bought for my family as a Christmas gift earlier.”

Share on FacebookIm just going to throw this out there. He mentioned they didn't have much, but they must have a lot of love.
Such a fantastic beautiful story of a child showing his love, gratitude, and support for his parents and family. It's so wonderful that he has chosen to share so much with them 💗
I bet the parents were just as loving and caring... It goes both ways.
Load More Replies...This has a two fold added benefit. If the birth parents that gave you up were heartbroken and torn about letting you go, this is a way to show them they made the right decision because you thrived beyond what they probably hoped. But if your birth parents ditched you because they just didn't want you...then you get sweet revenge by showing them what they missed out on. Hats off to this young man for going above and beyond and for the parents that did the same.
I wonder what kind of job he has that earns so well he could do this.
Building a villa like that costs a lot less in Asia than the West too so that definitely helps.
Load More Replies...Beautiful story, but they didn't really need to add "adoptive" more than once. Adoptive parents are just parents. Once context is established, call them "parents".
I think it is important here, due to the fact that his parents went above and beyond taking him in. They could barely scrape by, and they opened their hearts and home to this young man.
Load More Replies...Clearly they taught him well, including love and appreciation. It is people like Jayvee Lazaro Badile II who make this world a better, nicer, happier place to be.
This is an awesome story, and really shows that family is more than blood. The only thing that gave me anxiety is the amount of cleaning involved.
I'd be willing to be a maid service came with. He's one smart (and thoughtful) cookie.
Load More Replies...People are commenting on how stoic his parents are. That is just that generational and cultural differences. My mom is older and she never smiles in pictures or shows affection for others to see... it's not that they don't love him or are embarrassed, that's the way they were taught. If you look at a family album, I'm sure lost pics from the last century have very little smiling or affection.
This is a beautiful story, but I have to ask - if you're building a home for your parents, expecting that this is where they'll grow old, why so many stairs?!
If he has that kind of money, when that time comes, I'm sure he'll remodel and add an elevator. Don't be a downer.
Load More Replies...I love being from a Filipino background. My family always takes care of the older generation and shows respect in as many ways as we can. The family lives very close together, if not in the same house and I'm sure there are many stories like this, although not on the same scale.... Salamat!
Good for all of them! They clearly raised him right - with love and a deep sense of Family (yes, Family with a big capital F). This kind of love and dedication doesn't happen overnight... it takes a lifetime. I'm so very happy for all of them!
Load More Replies...What a wonderful story! This sends a strong message to all those who believe being born in poverty and hardship is worse than not being born at all.
This is so Amazing. I always wanted to give my late Mother her dream home and take her on trips where she always wanted to go, unfortunately she passed away in 2010 from complications after her last knee surgery at 61. And I miss her everyday. 😔♥️ ~~~•~~~ So now when I go to any country she wanted to visit, I take some of her ashes and leave a little bit of her everywhere she wanted to go. 😊Ireland, Sweden, Scotland, Paris, France and Great Wall in China so far...
That is awesome ... but is anyone else wondering what the heck he does for a living ? Paying for a house in cash ?! Trips around the world ? Gucci anything ? 😆
What on earth does this kid now do that he can afford this? It's great he didnt' forget his parents. Can you imagine living in that situation, yet willing to share what little you have to take in someone else's child and make him your own? Those parents are very, very awesome.
For those wondering like me, what his job is, he's a Regional Manager for a Fillipino Insurance company, so he's done well for himself and his family.
I was a government-ward foster child and I was adopted. I am thankful everyday. -Dr M, retired professor
This is a culture in the Philipines. Children always feel the responsibility to give back to their parents as soon as they get the capability to do so.
I wonder if Filipino have the secret of raising great children/ just coincidence. There's a Malaysian Celebrity-Mark Adam (originally from Philippine), he did the same for his parents. Despite living so far away & difference in religion& culture now, he never forget his root & family. Always admire him...
An incredible, heart warming story, the parents raised the boy with much love, to see a family with so little, but the boy grew up understanding the meaning of love and respect, this could be a lesson for kids to see, what love can do !!!
Such a heartwarming story. God bless Jayvee for being so loving to his parents.
happiness is not always living in a big house or buying expensive things - they must have had close friends and a social network there that gave them much, and jobs that supported them and gave them pride. Now they'll be uprooted from their known surroundings and in a totally new world. I truly hope that when he goes back to his own success they will be happy and content where he placed them.
You clearly skipped the text and went right to the photos..You can be certain that they are still living in the same neighbour-hood and he visits as often as his job allows him. Before I opened the post I thought to my-self Philippines, and right it is.I know of a similar story,Roberto was bought for 50 $ as a baby at the market in Manilla and he is much loved and the pride of his parents (he became legally adopted) This was ca 25 years ago.
Load More Replies...I want to meet this man so I can hug him and thank him for proving that not all human beings are self-absorbed scumbags. And then I want to hug his adoptive parents for being such excellent human beings that, even with effectively nothing, they demonstrated the kindness and ethical centre throughout the years of raising him that led him to become said excellent human being.
Wait, what? Is this the PARASITE moovie in real with the happy ending?
Cool story but I have to say....that little place they grew up in had way more significance. It had character and culture and connection to who they really are. It’s nice to afford nice things but big houses and Gucci clothes should never replace who we are.
why do they need to stay living in squalor though just to hang onto who they are? They deserve the big house & all the designer stuff that he can now buy for them. Now they can live comfortably
Load More Replies...In some cultures, public displays of affection are considered bad manners. But in this case, there are several pictures where the parents have their arms around his back at the waist.
