30 Times People Spotted Employers Who Were ‘Choosing Beggars’ And Just Had To Shame Them Online
Picture a job ad: skilled, bilingual manager with higher education diploma and 5 years of previous experience wanted. Well, you may expect this solid role would be well-paid, but in the world of Choosing Beggars this is not the case.
In fact, more and more employers are looking for workers with impressive resumes and a set of ludicrous requirements, only to offer them pennies in return. Thanks to the subreddit Choosing Beggars that is notorious for calling out greedy and delusional people like this, we have a lot of real-life cases to look at. From a church that expects 10% of their employee's pay back to a company that’s looking for a bilingual manager to take charge of a team for $8 an hour, some of the job ads are hard to believe.
Also, scroll down for our interview with Dawn Moss, the founder of “Your Interview Coach,” who has been helping both candidates and hiring managers through the recruitment and selection process since 2013. She happily shared insights into the job market today and explained why some employers have such high requirements for little salaries. Dawn also has some tips on what to do if you ever receive a delusional offer!

Sister Sent Me This... She Was Blocked Immediately After
I'm going to be unpopular by saying this. If you can't afford a kid, don't have several of them. There's no easy kid and certainly not the plural version. For sure it's not a reason not to pay the nanny.
Sure, some kids are way easier than others, but that is irrelevant here - they agreed to $16/hr and want to "compromise at $20" (which I assume means total) for 8 hours of babysitting. I mean, WTAF!!?
Load More Replies..."I'm not respecting the contract we both agreed on because... erm... Because!" Fortunately, real life does not work like these entitled brats' dream.
Thats ridiculous. It’s a job not a favor. Why agree to 16 an hr if your not gonna pay it.
My kids were always easy..according to anyone that met or looked after them. However if child care cost is agreed Upon in advance then you pay that amount! I used to run daycare and ALWAYS undercharged the going rate.dont rip child care people off. Don't rip off parents either. The costs are ridiculous these days.
As soon as I get free rent, utilities, food, gas etc I'd be happy to work for nothing.
To find out what an expert has to say about high expectations and low salaries offered in the job market, Bored Panda spoke with Dawn Moss. “I've worked with hundreds of hiring managers in lots of different disciplines and this is one of the common situations; low salary and high expectations for the job,” she said. “To be fair to all the hiring managers out there, they are often given a budget and want to get as much as they can with the money they have!”
You Better Be Reliable And On Time For This Incredibly Below Minimum Wage Job!
Read the first line as "In need of a babysitter from 12PM - 7 PM, Motherfückers.
Allow me to commend you on excellent use of the umlaut to avoid the censor!
Load More Replies...I am a nanny. I wouldn't take this job for less than $20 per hour, which is $140 per day...$700 per week. Paid on a salaried basis, not hourly. So, $700 per week regardless of when the boyfriend gets home. You're looking for a full time nanny, they need to be able to count on their income, not have it change at random. This is laughable. There's absolutely no way she found someone.
If the kids were all potty trained I would assume they were trying to get a neighbor's kid to baby sit. You know kid to naive to understand that they are being exploited.
Load More Replies...There would be something wrong with my life if I worked 35 hrs and got 75 dollars total. This is almost full time! 7 hours a day!? Get any other job and it will pay a lot more than that
I mean, I charge that. I'm a teenager living with my parents, I'm just getting spending money.
Load More Replies...I would accept that for a day, considering I get paid 2-5$ to babysit 5 of my siblings for 4-5 hours. Most I have made was 10$ because I cleaned
Job Ad: Caretaker Work For Free! No Wage! Bonus Power, Water And Bathroom Access!
This is not a job but rather an ad looking for a volunteer. One cannot survive doing such.
This is an ad looking for someone with a camper and no money for lot rental.
Load More Replies...This could make sense if hey were looking for someone to watch their house when they're away 🤣 But most likely it's not the case.
Actually, it probably is similar. This is a normal caretaking ad, people just want it to be some awful thing, so they are intentionally misunderstanding. A caretaker is almost always a non-wage side gig. I know lots of people who have done it, it's definitely way easier than being a live-in farmhand.
Load More Replies...People, just a note: a caretaker isn't a caregiver, this is not unusual AT ALL. You take care of a PROPERTY, often not a daily task, in exchange for land & sometimes utilities. This is very normal, and it's not someone asking for free home health care. The caretaker usually is retired or works a main job, then a few hours weekly of property caretaking duties replace lot rent.
Ad is a bit off. If someone lives in a residence then that is their wage. It's pretty common because you aren't paying rent or utilities. Bit confused what they mean by "self contained" lol
I find it interesting that there is so little compassion for someone who is trying to work a job and can only afford that much for child care. Imagine being her.
Maybe You Wouldn't Be On The Third Nanny If You Paid More Than $10/Hr?
Corporate? What is she a secretary (not sexism just the lowest paid "corporate"position I can think of) and then those usually pay surprisingly well
Load More Replies...Can we all just take a moment to applaud this woman for having a CORPORATE job, and with DEADLINES? This is a true achiever, at the peak of human success.
“Isn’t to live off of” and “serious inquiries only” don’t belong in the same sentence.
" some of these girls" . Since you won't take women seriously, I guess they will return the favor.
You got a corporate job ... husband is deployed, meaning he makes money, too ... you cannot afford a livable wage? Then don't get children. Or learn to budget. Nobody can afford doing work just for fun, you know...
Only officers get real pay. Enlisted get chump change in comparison.
Load More Replies...Dawn also explained that it won't be a surprise to most people that the workplace has gone through massive changes recently. “It means employers are looking for individuals with more technical and behavioral competencies,” she said and added that “the workplace was changing fast even before the pandemic, environmental considerations, technology, big data, AI, political influences, social demographics, the list goes on.”
Trump Lovers Must Apply!
Must be Trump fans, they also love to dodge taxes an get involved in shady financial transactions.
Ah yes, if you say you're a Trump fan, we will commit tax evasion, but shhh don't tell that to the police.
Tax evasion is a-ok but god forbid you have some parking tickets
Load More Replies...This is ridiculous. Bachelors and CNA? Basically always available and perfect? Three kids whom you need to pay to feed on occasion? For 10 bucks an hour? This disgusts me.
I was thinking that too! The fact that I'm not sure is very telling though.
Load More Replies...Illegal, immoral, inhumane, un-Christian - yep, checks out, is a Trump fan.
Where are you seeing un-christian? Many Christians are big Trump supporters, which I'll never understand.
Load More Replies...Trust me, there's not enough money in the world to babysit Trump Trash kids!
Might be fun to teach the kids some liberal philosophy.
Load More Replies...I love the line about how the babysitter needs to use some of that $10/hour for snacks to feed kids that aren't their own. So feeding 3 kids on $10/hour.... basically working for free.
Best Job Ever
I tried explaining to my landlord that we were part of a housing team. He did not think that was wonderful.
Load More Replies...The kicker is them asking for a competent person to apply. Like if you didn't walk away after the first sentence you probably aren't going to be that.
If it is "our" Wodonga, then I'm surprised they haven't been hit by FairWork. That kind of nonsense isn't legal. Although I admit I saw N old workplace of mine get away with using "volunteers", even though those volunteers were expected to stay a certain amount of hours, in certain days. I quietly let them know they can turn the business in and get backlash for all the hours they worked, but none ever did. In the end the business collapsed anyway.
Load More Replies...Maybe they meant paid daily, bi-weekly or monthly? Not the wording I would have chose tbf lol
Who would want to get a paycheck?? that is soo yesterday! now you can e-transfer.

Not for $8-9 an hour. Pay people what they are worth and you may have a better chance of a hire.
Wanted: heads of burglary rings for temporary job scoping out storage units for your gang.
I used to run a storage facility. No way would anyone want to do that job for that kind of money.
Maybe if it included a really nice rent free on site apartment they might be somewhat not acceptable
Load More Replies...They better bump those numbers up a few dollars. A management position, on call, with weekend availability? That 8-9 dollars won't be getting much response.
Reminds me of the ads in my former university looking for unpaid interns with a Ph.D. taking responsibility for 30+ people teams 50 hours a week for "experience"... Fortunately most of these unpaid "internships" are illegal here by now, as long as they are not part of the curriculum.
If they take that job they aren't going to have a positive attitude for long.
“It can seem overwhelming when a candidate looks at the job advert and job description with the long list of criteria, tasks, responsibilities, etc. In my experience as an in-house recruiter, this job description was often a 'wish list,'” Dawn told us. “The hiring managers would take that job to market (job boards, agencies, social media, etc.) and see who was looking, who was interested in the job, and see what they could get for the salary,” she said.
Moreover, the job description is also what we tend to think of as the 'end product.' “This means the hiring managers and recruiters aren't necessarily looking for a candidate to 'tick' all of the boxes. Of course, it's great if they find someone who does match most or all of the criteria.”
Good Luck!
I don't have a camera but for $200 I'll tell you all about it when you call
How about you pay me $1,500 and I will put your pictures on my website along with your name. Think of the exposure you will get!
Um. Yeah. Use the $200 and put disposable cameras on the tables, then you get your $200 pictures! 😉
I mean, even if it's a 10hr work day, that's still $20/hr-- what's the issue here? Unless they expect editing and such
$200 eh? Okay let's use the "school pictures pricing model". The $200 package will get you 2 - 8x10 (one for each parental unit), 3 - 5x7 (for those family or friends you REALLY like, and 20x wallet size. Choose one photo only: Placement of ring, The Kiss, or The Cake Stuff.
Done! I'll send you all the pictures off my cell phone the following day. You have to include all the food I can eat and must have an open bar plus transportation. I also want my 200 bux up front just in case I strike out with any one of your bridesmaids.
Guess they're taking pics in the photographer's backyard at that price, bc there's no way that involves travel.
Load More Replies...Honestly everything wedding related is overpriced af. $200 for a professional photographer? No, you are not going to find one. But if you are on a budget getting someone who likes photography as a hobby and has a $300 camera is reasonable to get for$200 as a side gig. Unless they are completely incompetent you'll get decent pictures
As long as you don't recognise decent photos when you see them, you'll be happy.
Load More Replies...I mean I have a camera and I take pictures of my dogs… does that count as professional?
I Want A Full Crew Of Experienced Filmmakers, Own Equipment Preferred, "You Should Expect Overall Zero-Budget Project With No Pay"
Let me fix this: Looking for volunteers to make a YouTube video on film making. Possible compensation at times but mainly internship/volunteer work
Hold up! She wants people with experience but hobbyists or students? Who are thinking to level up their experience? 🤔🤔
Lmao. Im not looking for people to work for free as I clearly look for people to work for free.
If the person who posted the ad needs everything listed above, then the people who qualify should get together and put together their own videos. Why would they even need the person who posted this? What are they bringing to the table?

Dawn explained that the job description is a measurement of what the hiring managers would like someone to work towards. “So candidates should keep this in mind when applying for the job and demonstrate not just their fit to the job now, but their potential to meet the criteria in the future. For example, if you have no experience but you are undertaking a qualification, training course, certificate, etc., be sure to add these things to your cover letter and CV.”
“Also, keep in mind that it can be a benefit to the business if a candidate doesn't 'tick' all of the boxes,” Dawn said and added that “they are more likely to stick around for a little longer, be highly motivated to meet the new challenges, and have a balance between bringing lots of skills and experience to the job but also lots of opportunities to learn and develop in the job.”
Wants A Masters Degree For A Minimum Wage Job
Seems like these places keep asking for tons of education/experience but yet don't know how to properly compensate for those degrees.
If it's a master's degree in one of these Walmart Cashier 101 pseudoscience fields like gender studies, it's an accurate ad.
My Master's was pretty useless, too. That's my last salary, after many years of experience.
Ah Yes,$ 150 A Week For A Job With Brimful Moment Hours

Load More Replies...Really the sad part of a lot of these child care posts is many are from people who really can't afford to pay more than what they're listing...and are in between a rock and hard place with childcare and their job.
Most people can't afford private, in-home care for their children so they take their children to a daycare center. One of the things I'm noticing about these posts is that they are asking for their own personal nanny to come to their house for crazy low, even illegally low pay.
Load More Replies...It breaks my heart that a parent of a 2 month old has to find a babysitter because they have to work (well, I don't know, they might WANT to work, but in general). In my country, we have paid parent's leave for almost a year and it should be everywhere.
That’s $3.75/hr. My first job in 1987 paid $4.25. Who are these assholes?
Ooh, less than $4/hr! Be still my beating heart--I can't wait to sign up! /s

I want to know about the Malaysian Job threat. And "web, blacklist your PC" and "no MC claim". How hard is it to get work in India?
Sadly, many people need these horrible jobs to live. Clearly not in North America(especially Canada) as we have rules/regulations and laws against some of this stuff
According to the recruitment expert, the workplace is getting more and more demanding. “Therefore, the skills required to deal with fast-paced working environments and staying ahead of the competition mean employers are less realistic.” And Dawn believes that the speed and pace of change won't slow down in the near future. “Stress levels in the workplace have increased over the last few years and are still increasing,” she added.
First Post Here, What The Hell?
They probably can't because it's not full time to also avoid paying benefits.
Load More Replies...Looks like they have only one salary bracket. Let's apply that across the whole company, from bottom all the way to top.
I've been seeing a lot of broken down registers and other such things at my local stores lately -- and hearing they are having a lot of trouble finding and keeping IT staff. Probably because of this mindset. Stores who would rather lose the ability to make any sales so go out of business than share any of their obscene profits with any employees.
Compared to the other jobs we can see on here that’s just really pathetic and sad
Not real. Anyone can make up a title and pay rate and post them to Glassdoor.
Nanny Job So Good You Should Pay Them To Do It
Also - HOW will they PAY $450 a month if they HAVE NO JOB????? Sorry, this one has me really irate.
You realize the only person who's going to agree to PAY YOU $450 a month to watch your kids is a child molester.
How on earth are you running your household that $450 is supposedly only a PORTION of you monthly utilities bills??
$450 to spend 40+ hours a week cleaning and watching after someone else's kids? Where has this amazing opportunity been my whole life?!
No she has to pay 450$ a month in utilities to work there. Pay is free room..so nothing.

Load More Replies...7 hours ago - 0 applicants. 7 months ago - 0 applicants. Used by the GOP as another example that people are too lazy to work.
You're making a joke, because those years experience are clearly not consecutive, but concurrent. But it does highlight how stupid their requirements are.
Load More Replies...Then call it Mid or Senior Level, not Entry Level, as all those qualifications are what you’re supposed to LEAVE a f*****g entry level job with, because the entry level job is where you LEARNED and gained experience in them. Why is this so goddamned difficult to understand?
Scagsy gave a good analogy above. The employer is calling it Entry Level because it's for an Entry Level salary. It's got nothing to do with the applicants' actual skill level, it's about what they are willing to pay. And they want to pay pennies to get an expert.
Load More Replies...This is practically every tech job description. It's more fun when they are looking for "new grads" with 3-10 years of experience.
“Certainly, people are now talking about wanting to spend more quality time with their friends and family and some have enjoyed working from home and the balance that adds to their lifestyles. The conversation has started up again about the 4-day working week,” Dawn explained and added that it will certainly be an interesting trial and topic to follow.
Meanwhile, her advice for the applicant who receives a clearly delusional salary offer is to try to get an idea of the salary or the salary range before going through the entire recruitment process. “If there's a number you can call to get more information or have an informal chat, always call them. This is a genuine invitation to call and start a conversation, but also start the relationship.”
Like Who In The Hell Would Agree To This?
No money coming in for 2 months, then an interview where you might get a job. People are ridiculous.

Where I live, it's illegal to mandate training and not pay people.
It's like going to school for free. Lots of companies do this. Better than studying all those things and paying for them at university. If they already have the skills required they don't need to do the training. I think it's nice they're providing this opportunity as sk many jobs require high qualifications that not many people have.
https://www.gatewaycc.edu/programs/tech-support-specialist This program is with a college in Arizona. ▪︎A+ certification (they pay for the test vouchers) ▪︎Placement with a company in their IT dept. ▪︎1 year internship ▪︎Company assigned mentor ▪︎Monthly check-ins w/ college assigned mentor ▪︎Above min wage pay guaranteed no matter which company you are placed with. ▪︎Health benefits ▪︎Books and tools provided ▪︎They will help you get the assistance needed to apply for scholarships and appling for financial assistance (food stamps and medical care) I personally know FIVE people whose lives have been drastically improved by this program. I am one of them.
WEll, if the training is any good, it is free training and a certificate and you can then just piss off.
It's a good point, although I wonder what the universality of the certificate is. If it means you're now a certified Infrastructure Support Specialist and that makes you marketable to other jobs, then that's a good thing. If it's tied to that specific company somehow, it could leave you looking like you went through their training but failed to get hired, which could be a bad thing.

Load More Replies...Well this isn't exactly a job...it's an apprenticeship which is almost like an internship, and the pay will go up after the program is complete. Also under that circle it appears they provide housing, so while that stipend is low you should take into account that rent and utilities are paid for by the company...which btw eats up the majority of most peoples paycheck.
Except the point behind an apprenticeship (and it may even be a requirement for government stipends to cover it) is that the apprentice has no prior experience - which is belied by their first sentence. We want someone who already know what they are doing to come and be patronised into "learning" so we can get the government funding. (Depends which country this is of course)
Load More Replies...Looks like an internship. The title of the ad does include the word “Apprentice”, which is why my brain went to internship.

A lot of "native English speakers) have a very poor grasp of spelling and grammar. This may be because their spoken English is so poor, even here in the UK. By the way, I'm not referring to regional dialects or local accents.

Having said that, Dawn warns not to make the salary the first question! “If you are genuinely interested in the job and the company, you will ask questions about these first, you may wish to share a brief and interesting summary of your experience and how it matches the job—don't waffle on and on... Then you can approach them about the remuneration and benefits.” She also said it’s important to let the person know you don't want to waste their time first (of course you don't want them to waste yours either).
Looking For A Rn Job, And They Wonder Why There Is A Shortage

The whole point of tithing is that you're supposed to give it VOLUNTARILY. It's not supposed to be demanded, you church of warm cabbage.
So... Why don't they just be honest and offer you 90% of the rate. Churches are such a scam. Tax them and give us healthcare and ECE instead.
Most churches do contribute to societal needs that most people ignore. I don't know about this one, obviously, but i sepulcher like to think the warm cabbage church helps their community like the churches in my area. Almost all money goes to helping people and the community. This church is probably struggling greatly. They probably would like to be able to pay said wage, so they are, but strings attached... the early comment about tithing being voluntary rather than required is for sure true, though. I have mixed feelings about this one
Load More Replies...The 10% came from the Old Testament before kingships were instituted. The 10% "tax" was to be given to the Levi tribe since at the time they were the hub of societal duties - judges, religious roles, social leaders. Now churches come along and say its members should be giving 10% of their wages because "it's in the Bible and God said it" when today's church isn't doing the additional services of our government (which we are also additionally paying taxes to.) How convenient for the church to only remember the OT concept but forget the context behind it.
Ah, church = con job / bunch of charlatans ...... I hate you god botherers so much. Vile, vile, spiteful ignorant and mostly stupid people.

I m sure she's looking for a husband (another one?) if not for the "live-in nanny" clause there (but I may be wrong for could there be a male-nanny?)
Only a nanny with "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle " vibes would apply to this ridiculous ad.
Kind Redditor Offering A Job... And What A Deal It Is!
I remember reading something where Heinlein wrote "pulp" fiction in the 40s for a penny a word ($0.01). Forget inflation when you're already starting at 1/10 the pay.
Going from stating $1 per hour to $1 per 1000 words is super shady. I can't imagine consistently writing essays at the rate of 1000 words per hour. Most will take some amount of research if you aren't going to plagiarize. If you want super cheap labor, you usually have to look overseas to somewhere wages are much lower, but I don't know where on the planet someone with good enough English and writing skills would work for that little. I'm looking at that story about a job in this thread for minimum wage in Malaysia at around RM1200/month and this is RM725/month if working a 40 hour week and actually hitting that 1000 word target.
About 25 years ago, when online jobs/job postings were just starting to get off the ground, I found a listing for an online writing/editing/proofreading position. I have a BA in English Lit, so I applied. First red flag was when they insisted I pay then $25 USD as a "nonrefundable application fee." Second red flag was that part of the "entrance exam" was a spelling test. They'd give you a word spelled two different ways, and you had to pick which was the correct one. They falsely claimed that I'd made "incorrect" choices for four of the words (I had not), so I "didn't score well enough to pass the entrance exam." They refused to refund my $25. Oh well--lesson learned. If they're not smart enough to know how to spell basic words, I don't need to work for them.
Sadly many Indian and Asian candidates will apply. They work it alongside their full time job
$2.50 An Hour, 50 Hours A Week. Reshared It Asking For Someone “Reliable And Trustworthy Only”. How Can You Expect Reliable And Trustworthy At That Price?
Single parents working for minimum wage is the reason we need to provide free universal child care. A few less nuclear weapons would provide the money.
This is bad, don't get me wrong, but I wonder if it has more to do with OP having a s**t job with s**t pay. I have seen too many people on welfare who literally cannot afford to get a job because they lose the welfare completely, but now must pay for gas, parking, and child care... you're better off not working. This sounds like someone who is desperate... If you "truly can't afford" more than $25/day for child care, then you are yourself being exploited.
My sister and I are in this boat. We've done the math and in order for it to be worth it to get off the EBT and Medicaid benefits we have (as well as the CAP programs we're part of with the utilities), we'd have to find a job that's paying at least 40k a year AFTER taxes. It isn't that "no one wants to work", it's that no one wants to pay a decent, livable wage. I wonder if some of these people would just be better off staying home with their kids instead of working for these shitty wages/jobs.
Load More Replies...50 hours a week requires overtime pay. $2.50 an hour is not anywhere near a living wage. No thank you.
Though I'm guessing this arrangement is for the child to be left with the sitter and the sitter would be at their own home, possibly with their own kids or other children they watch. It's still incredibly low, but it's not as egregious as some of these folks who expect private, in-home baby sitting for less than minimum wage.

$1 a box wouldn't even cover the petrol, car insurance and wear and tear on the vehicle, driving for 14 hours a day. So ridiculous.
well, it says it's a company vehicle so I'm assuming the company will be responsible for all that. But that's still a BS offer.

Would be fun to spam them with variously worded inquiries as to their mental health, thought processes in posting their requirements, and seriousness, as neither is already answerede above.
That's a good pay but long days... But honestly if it's like a 4 days weeks that seems like a good offer right ?
Is this a joke? I didn't see the answer to that question. Oh wait, never mind, there it is, in items 1-6.
My bf does this at $175 a day even if it's under 175 stops. There's been days where he's gone in at 9, & got off at 1:30 because he only had 90 stops. So that day he made $43 an hour. He gets an extra dollar per stop when it goes over 175 stops. There's stops where he's had to deliver 20 packages, so I'm sure he would actually prefer the $1 per box lol when he averages 150-200 stops. This is actually a good deal.
So he's done 90 stops in 4h30, that's like a stop every 3 minutes. Is he just, like, chucking newspapers into a yard?

"potential"...wow how much can I buy with all the potential I wonder? Will my landlord accept "potential" for his rent?
I dont understand people to agree to internships. Seem’s like they are all just pushovers.
Sometimes it's required to even get a job. Generally, especially in my field, you need years of experience to get a job. Becoming an intern while on college can get you a hoot job right out of graduating. We'd like pay for our work, yes, but the experience we get to be able to get jobs in the future is worth it most of the time.
Load More Replies...I'm reminded of the all-too-common stories I unfortunately keep seeing, here and elsewhere, where an established company gets some "new blood" in management. They decide the best way to get rid of "dead wood" is to lay off/force into early retirement some of their older, more established workers--the ones earning the most, with the most institutional knowledge. Those workers leave, and suddenly nobody knows how to do anything, where anything is, how to get a hold of various ppl/companies, etc. New management insists that getting rid of the "deadwood" was the right way to go, because of how much money it saved the company! They decided to "hire" two unpaid recent college graduates to do all that work--and are somehow surprised when nobody wants to work for free.
It's "work from school" that gets me. Are there schools that would allow students to do that? My school days are 60 years behind me so I'm a bit curious.

My cousin was an intern on GMA and saud it was a living hell. She was instrumental in the development of the intern law
This isn’t bad. If you’re looking to be something like a graphic designer this would be a great experience. And most interns work for completely free. Even the potential for compensation is great.
Pay Us To Work. Oh, And You Don't Get To Watch The Game
I can see the appeal of this to a die-hard fan but you HAVE to include admission in it. I used to be in the sports industry and we regularly had tours of the stadium and dressing rooms. I think it used to cost £15-£20 about 25 years ago so it would be more than that now due to inflation but you can't justify $350 for it. And we didn't put them to work while they were there! (Maybe we should have let them play. We might not have been relegated!)
If you aren't going to include admission and least include a meet and greet with a few players

Price $350..... It doesn't get any more behind-the-scenes rip-off, I mean incredible experience, than this.🤣 Seriously, what a cheek, but I guess parents with basketball mad children would fork out the cash for their children to be exploited, possibly without realising that they were being exploited. Sad!
What's disturbing is that they must have found fools for this incredible offer since they only have 4 left....

This appears to be an ad for a one bedroom apartment available for 2 weeks (March 1 to March 15) for $100 but it includes the dogs so you have to take care of them while you're there. One hundred bucks for two weeks lodging isn't bad - beats taking an AirBnB
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can see the benefits in some of these.

Exactly. In my country an in house pet sitter’s going rate is $35-$70/day, depending on the experience of the pet sitter and whether walks/medication/plant watering/ mail collection is needed,

Was Looking For Jobs Forgot To Set Location 2$ An Hour
This is the tragedy of a single parent working 2 low wage jobs. Yes, it's insane to offer $2 per hour, but it's even more insane that people work 2 jobs and still don't make enough money to pay their babysitter a decent wage.
It's even more insane that people who are thoroughly unable to provide for a child still decide to have one.

Yeah it’s a mixed bag there.

ah yes, the Dept. of Unemployment. You can't report me to something that doesn't exist, you god damn idiot.
When a person is on unemployment, part of the agreement the person makes when receiving weekly payments, is that they will complete a certain amount of job searches each week (ex:Here in iowa, its 4 jobs a week) a lot of people scam the system and say they went to an interview, and use the post as "proof" that they showed up. That might be why that was put in the message. To be clear, I am, in no way, supporting that job advert!

These are the people yelling about how people don't want to work.
This the great resignation. People are tired of being overworked for a wage they cant live on let alone be comfortable. They are tired of being taken advantage of, disrespected, and not considerate. They know how much they are worth and refuse to settle for less.
Plus, the internet has made "gig culture" accessible to anyone with creativity and desire to be flexible with their definition of employment. Someone driving for Lyft or Uber, delivering food/ groceries, and running their own small business doing what they love can sustain themselves AND have flexible hours that employers don't provide. We don't HAVE to settle for insulting wages for overworking in a traditional brick and mortar location anymore. We have options, same the pandemic proved that on a far greater level than ever before, when those brick and mortar locations laid off everyone and they were left to figure out what they could do to pay their bills on their own. Now employers are surprised that they can't get workers to come back to the same conditions!

I applied for a dog walking job. They responded inviting me for an interview but the successful candidate would have to purchase their own dog crates, leads, insurances etc, work for 2 weeks unpaid for training and then the company takes 40% of everything you earn after that. Hahaha I declined that interview on the basis that I couldn’t afford to work for them!
Pont fingers, name names. These people and especially companies should be SHAMED! They put their info out there in the first place so no need to protect their privacy.
I commented this above, but that tech one is completely average right now. Almost every entry-level or junior position is asking for 3-10 or 5-10 years of experience. Fun fact, if you have made it to 5 years without becoming a senior developer than you are an outlier. I don't even know who the postings are for. Is it just so companies can complain that no one wants to work?
This is the modern form of slavery. They target those who for some reason remained unemployable and couldn't develop enough skills.
