A new kid on the international artists block, Irene V. Fuchs creates amazing effects using resin for her upcoming series, featuring her own view on the island of Cyprus. Being an artist from the time she could hold a pencil or a pen, she has now decided to reach out and present her work to the world through her Etsy shop.
“It has been quite a journey… I remember the first time I published my work, my hands were shaking, all that was running through my mind was rejection. Although there are a lot of people telling me to “get real”, I do feel blessed to have someone around me to push me to my limits, to inspire me and to keep believing in my work, this all would be just a fantasy if not for my amazing husband, my loving mother and my crazy friends!”
Using the finest art materials around, she has started experimenting with resin and acrylics mostly. The hardest part of her work, as she mentioned, is putting the price on her work:
“It is a struggle, when I paint, I don’t think about the money I can get, it comes straight from my heart, but at the end of the day you have to eat! Being a new artist on the market puts a lot of pressure. In the past I have been doing custom orders locally, but now I have devoted my all to chase this dream and share my art with the world.”
Inspired by the island lifestyle, she creates vibrant paintings in variety of sizes so anyone can find even a small space on their walls to hang them.
“My paintings are like my children, it takes long to create them and quite hard to let them go, but eventually the happiest I am is when I see them find their place on a wall, making other people enjoy them!”
