    I can see the composition Asphalt shingle siding, which used to be a thing, actually helped accelerate the demise of this house and many others. Every old house I have removed these atrocious things, I've found so much rotten and deterioration. The siding underneath would have benefited from a good cleaning and paint, than have these awful moisture trapping "shingles" applied to it. On a roof they work fine because of the underlayment, but on a wall, not so much.
