A Cat Tree Can Change Your Life!

Cats love to climb — In-fact, I frequently find myself at the bottom of a ladder trying to coax my cat Beavis down with his favourite toy because he has decided to escape onto the roof again. Over the last year, I have found him acting mischievously; In the chimney, up a tree at the bottom of my garden, hanging off the TV unit and in the roof cavity…?

It seems that wherever there is height, Beavis will be there. I have always wondered where this love of heights has come from though. Does he simply like the adrenaline rush or does he simply like to survey his “territory”?

Most of the time when I cat him red handed hanging off the curtains for the second time of the day, there doesn’t appear to me much logic to his madness.

So, after throwing away another sofa — I decided to invest in a floor to ceiling cat tree in the hope this would appease his uncontrollable urges to ruin everything in sight. It didn’t take me long to find a suitable cat tree online, and after reading some reviews, I settled on the Kilimanjaro cat tree. At almost 7ft tall I hoped would be the perfect solution — And it was!

I haven’t been able to get him down, and can’t recommend buying one enough. Amazingly after only two weeks, Beavis seem much happier and he seems much stronger than before?

My sofas are now on the mend because they no longer have to deal with his claws tearing it apart. Now all his energy is spent hanging off every inch of the fur covered scratching posts, and jumping from platform to platform!

He is not the only one getting joy from this arrangement as I haven’t watched TV in the last two days as I would rather watch him play on his new toy! This is the greatest benefit for me, aside from knowing that my cat is happy.

He is getting old now bless him, so he probably only has a couple of years of destruction left in him — but I know he will be spending the rest of his time enjoying every last minute. The only issue I now have, is that his “toy” takes over 75% of my living room! — It’s quite a piece of architecture I can assure you…

Many will say that cats do not show affection, and whilst this may be true. I do hope deep down he appreciates it
