Think of marketing as you would think about sex. Some brands try to establish a pleasant and long relationship with their clients and others use dirty tricks to manipulate anyone into the sack with them. So while some buyers are completely satisfied with their purchases, others feel ashamed and used. This time, Bored Panda has focused on packaging, bringing you the most insulting examples of designers taking advantage of the innocent.
From a deceiving box, hiding the true size of a sandwich to a clever wrap, making a lollipop appear way better than it actually is, there should be a special place in hell for everyone who contributed to these packaging ideas. What?
I disagree. This photo only shows the 'before' image. On the other side is the 'after' image that shows the broken rope and the guy laying in a bloody heap at the bottom of the mountain.
Load More Replies...I saw a rope like that once, it was written "not suitable for climbing on rocks and mountains", it was an indoor rope. Maybe it's the same thing ? That would explain why the picture conveniently doesn't show what's written above the first line...
Maybe we're looking at the picture sideways and it's for a Tug of War! ;-P
This is correct, this rope is suitable for rapel only (going down) - which is what the picture is showing - and not climbing (going up)
Perhaps the climber is using it to tie up his/her items or for some other use that is hidden by the silhouette. There may even be suggestions on the inside of the package? But yes, I agree that this package is misleading.
how many people actually read the label? you go in wanting rope, so that is what you pick up, without reading it... it is not fraud...the packaging clearly says not for climbing, if you didnt read it, that is your own fault.
Companies are allowed to put a picture they want on their product, even if it doesn't fully correspond to the product, as long as they notify the consumer. It is very annoying, but unfortunately legal. Then again in the end it is a lesson that as a consumer you always have to read what product you're buying.
Anyone that buys rope for a few bucks trust their life to it deserves what's coming. Real climbing rope goes through extensive third party testing and an extensive quality control system.. It cost about $3 a meter and isn't found at your local hardware store beside the twine. This is only false advertising if your really dumb.
This Gummy Bear Cup
Oh my God this company needs to go straight to Hell for this...
Load More Replies...I wonder what is being purchased here... the gummy bears or the cup. If it's the cup with some gummy bears, the packaging makes sense. I'd need to see the labeling on the cup before I believe this was a real rip-off.
They said cup. What you got. To use for what? Freaking rip off!
No kidding, it's probably that twist in words they use to justify this scam. You think you're getting a cup full of Gummy Bears, but they're actually selling a Gummy Bear themed cup fo $2.99 and look...the generous company actually throws in some Gummy Bears in for FREE!! What a sweetheart of a company, free Gummy Bears...
Load More Replies...I'd like to see the label clearly before condemning this one. It's blurry, but it looks like there's an X on the bottom in the picture of the cup on the label.
Unbelievable! that these people are getting away with this kind of deceptive packaging.
Typical Sale In Russia. Buy A Pack, Get A 2 Hot Dogs Free
Is it me or is the original pack missing two. There seems to be a space where to should Be? If that’s the case the manufacturer wasted Time materials and energy into putting the missing two hotdogs into a separate pack to make it look like a good deal.
There Are Only 3 Veggie Sausage Rolls In This Pack
That’s REALLY messed up (and I WANTED to use another word you can easily guess!)
This seems to be from the UK. So, yeah, you're right! ^^
Load More Replies...That's Just Rude
My deepest honor for the designer of the package.. This is hillarious
Is this about the package or is it half sided filled with pepperoni? I'm missing something here. If its pepperoni, it must've shifted to one side of the pack, for god sake move it with it your fingers before baking.
Load More Replies..."Product toppings may have shifted during shipping" or similar is a common line on these boxes, but this is ridiculous
I've seen these types of pics before, and honestly I think most of the time someone did this after the fact. No way would every single pizza get put into every single box perfectly in order to pull this off regularly. The pizzas would shift in the boxes and be noticed too often.
i have actually had fully closed lidded pizzas (where none of the pizza is actually shown) look like this when i open the box...it is usually because it is dropped during shipping or stocking...i just rearrange the pepperoni and be done with it.
When a pizza defrosts slightly all the toppings can slide to one side if it is tilted. This happened to my sister the other day
"Gluten-Free"
It is good that in EU lying like that is forbidden. Gluten is a serious health hazard for the people who have coeliac disease or wheat allergy. Also selling something as 'organic' is regulated here.
That's one more reason to be against TTIP, which would put USA commercial rules in Europe =8O
Load More Replies..."We are not gluten free or organic certified because it's b******t" ???No, what IS b******t is saying you are in large lettering on the front and then in small print on the back revealing you are in fact lying a******s
Of course if you weren't blind, you would notice the listed organic ingredients & gluten free flour. Hence, totally honest. They just do not pay for the certification.
Load More Replies...I have Celiac disease and I am fine with this label. (Also I am an American which is important) The GF certification is unfairly hard to get. Most of the things that I eat are free of gluten (like this) but aren’t official. I don’t need official, I need foods and food makers who know and prevent cross contamination. The official title means nothing to me. I have never gotten sick from something packaged like this, my greatest risk is always from people who don’t understand cross contamination.
What you people all seem to be missing is the fact that the company's ingredients ARE Gluten-Free and Organic. However the processing plant in which they have their product produced is NOT. THEREFORE, they can't "Certify" that their product is Gluten-Free and Organic, because trace amounts of ingredients that are not theirs may get mixed into the end-product, unintentionally by contaminated machinery, which negates it being certifiable. IF the product were produced within a certified Gluten-free, Organic production facility, it would probably be prohibitively too expensive to be distributable.
Even a tiny bit of gluten can be very dangerous for some people with celiac disease. There is a good reason it can't be certified if they use equipment that is used to process foods containing gluten.
Load More Replies...Is it only me that actually read ALL the writing, not just what's underlined? This product is actually gluten free according to its ingredients. It contains *gluten free flour*. What they mean with what is underlined is that they are NOT gluten free CERTIFIED, but the product IS gluten free. Is it that important to be certified for this? And the other statement is written on almost every *name-it* free product, that they are made in facilities that process other foods that contain that stuff. But the products themselves do not contain it. If I were gluten intolerant, I would have no issues eating this cookie..
Ah yes but that’s because it may contain traces. Those traces can kill or leave certain people in immense pain. Thus they could trick someone into a severe reaction
Load More Replies...It doesnt say that the product itself is not gluten or organic, only that they are not CERTIFIED organic or gluten free because they also process other foods in the plant. Its kinda like you going to Dairy Queen and they have to say that peanuts and other food allergens are on the premises even though you most likely arent going to have peanuts come into contact with your burger as they are prepared in different areas of the store.
It says that it contains gluten-free flour. If you read further it says that the facility that this product is made in is processing foods that contain wheat. My best guess is that is why they are not certified because there are chances of mixing some gluten with gluten-free flour in the foods processed there. Still doesn't really make them total liars.
Those traces can literally kill, that’s why you shouldn’t trick people into thinking you are certified

Load More Replies...Packaging product size changes a lot... I worked for a famous candy company from Tacoma, WA, that from 2003-2008 their candy canister tin size when from 15.7oz to 13.3oz to their current size of 10.5oz (then they cut the size of the canister tin so they could get more on a pallet to sell to Safeway, Fred Meyers, Walmart, Albertsons, Trader Joe’s, Top Foods [circa 2010] and a few other stores). Check your item sizes- also happens a lot with breakfast cereal, I’ve noticed.
liquid soup is liquid soup, the size of the tomatoes is irrelevant? Am I missing something?
Nice Big Jumbo Shrimps
Those things look like plug-in rockets/fireworks.. Screw the other half, give it few turns and it flies.
this is good practice and proper standard packaging for raw shrimp wi/ the head included. you can’t leave the head on once they are dead, otherwise the tail flesh gets really mushy really quickly. this is due to an enzyme being immediately released from the liver, which is in the head of course. properly, they should be de-capitated live, once they are, they are good for a day or so, if well refrigerated. if they’re dead with the head still on, don’t buy them.
Shrimp don't have livers. They just have a vein.
Load More Replies...You can see that they're cut in half even with the red sticker on there.
Is everyone overlooking the fact that there are only 9 SHRIMP?!? Who the hell eats 9 shrimp?? I need at least 50 to consider it a legit serving!
Now lets be fair here, you can clearly see the shrimp body stops before the label is removed
The Difference Between A Small Vs Medium Orange Juice At Mcdonalds
once the trick is better for you. always order the small, lakes less and drink the same
YES, a while ago I decided when ordering I only take the smallest sizes of food and drinks. And it works wonders. Your eyes are always bigger than your stomach anyway, and you eat and drink less (because with things like fries, you always continue eating even if you're actually content.) :)

That would make more sense to use a large hotdog packaging then just wrap it up in the foiled wrapping paper…

Oh The Irony
Seriously, I have never had an issue opening this kind of package with scissors, but tons of people act like it's near impossible.
It is ironic, but I have the product, it's actually really helpful!
I Needed Red. Guess Which One I Grabbed At First
Oh my God I made this same mistake with White icing at Christmas. To be fair i only looked at the package and didn't read it properly but come on when you are in a rush at Christmas you don't always read everything.
Unopened Box Of "64 Crayon Colors" Turns Out To Just Be Orange
Yeah, this one's definitely a factory mistake so you should take it back and get it changed.
Probably why it only cost .99 when they usually cost like 12 dollars
Also, it was purchased at Ollies, which is a bargain outlet that has mispackaged and surplus items, so you get what you pay for.
Load More Replies...This has to be a mistake in the production line. Crayola brand is very good about their packaging.
This Box Of Chocolates. They Didn't Even Taste That Good!
I am pretty sure this would be illegal within the European Union. And seriously, how does it work for the company? Not a single person would buy again.
I've purchased chocolates (not this brand) packaged like this before in the U.S. It's sold by weight, technically, so packaging can be as big as they want as long as it has the weight listed on the packaging.
Load More Replies..."Compound chocolate with mix flavor filling"? That sounds horrible!!! From Wikipedia: "Compound chocolate is a product made from a combination of cocoa, vegetable fat, and sweeteners. It is used as a lower-cost alternative to true chocolate, as it uses less-expensive hard vegetable fats such as coconut oil or palm kernel oil in place of the more expensive cocoa butter."
It is still deceitful packaging, even if no legal fraud. Not anything I would ever purchase again.
Load More Replies...Ugh, you should never buy compound choc, it's the worst ever and tastes disgusting. It has no cocoa butter in it and instead uses palm or coconut oil, it's basically a lower-cost alternative to true chocolate.
This is the type of thing you buy for a colleague you don't like if you pick them for secret santa. But still... this is seriously ridiculous.
WTH?????? That is outrageous! Don't know how these companies stay in business!
This Olive Oil I Bought Wasn't Even Cheap
but they only highlighted the olive oil and sunflower is faint. I bet most people see the olive oil.

My Life Is A Lie
Really? I thought the only awful thing they had exported was Justin Bieber. Still and awesome country.
Load More Replies...Its IS an American company, the product is just produced in Canada. This is very typical now as well.
Canada is still in the Americas... it doesn't say a United States company, we're not the only county in the Americas after all.
Canada is American, just not the US, as the flag designed USA shape would imply.
True. Just don't put the flag on it and it is the absolute truth. Putting the flag of the USA on it was a dumb move.
Load More Replies...Yeah. It was made in Canada by an American company. What's the confusion?
It all depends on your definition of "American Company." The idea for the company could have been made in the U.S., while some production of the actual product can be done in other parts of the world.
Hate To See Waste In Packaging And Also Feel Like They Are Trying To Trick Me So I Feel Value. Please Make Bottle The Size Of Product!
Its so sad, cause they use so much plastic for no reason :(
Laws really need to be put in place. Sad and ridiculous :(
Load More Replies...As long as you get the amount of pills that the package says, the size of the package is irrelevant. Other than being a waste of plastic.
Agreed. I am more bothered by the waste of plastic.
Load More Replies...yeah, same, just bought 30 pills of chromium, it barely fills 1/6 of the bottle, why not just sell 300 pills of something in the same bottle, why do they waste plastic, doesn't it cost them more or is it some stupid EU regulation that you can't sell more than 30 pills?
This is very typical. Almost no bottle I ever got came full to the top.
the fact is that people do not pay the price of the product by comparing the weight of the product to the price, but try to pay less by buying the biggest product. so the manufacturers make big bottles to give the impression that they have made a deal when they have paid the same price for a smaller package. as usual it is about being influenced by the appearance ,.
Toss Me A Cold One, Will Ya?
And this is highly illegal I think. If you get poisoning this way, you will be rich afterwards. If you survive it.
Load More Replies...It is dual purpose. If you drink one, your body temperature is guaranteed to drop. About 1.5 degrees per hour actually.
Sure, hide one in beer case and you have perfect murder.
Load More Replies...You can't package something non-drinkable in what looks like a drink can. This is grounds for a lawsuit. If a kid who can't read drinks it... And some people just don't bother with reading.
This packaging would be banned in EU, as it is a chemical car product in what is normally considered a food container, leaving it for dangerous mistakes.
This Antivirus Software My Dad Bought Is Literally An Empty Case With A Code On The Back
when our planet dies from plastic overuse, let's remember the days of these companies :)
I keep telling everyone, the planet will not die. We'll just contaminate the planet until it no longer has a life sustaining environment, then we will die. Earth will keep right on spinning because she doesn't care one way or another whether we're here or not.
Load More Replies...Why not do it like other companies, just a square paper with instructions and a password! Producing so much waste should be punishable.
Jeez.... that really boiled me up, waste of paper and plastic for no reason.
Maybe the company had a lot (tones) of boxes in storage from the cd era and they're selling these till the storage is empty....
Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials work just fine. You don't need third-party antimalware anymore.
this has happen to me before.then i found out it was free to install.
This Packaging
Proactiv is such a rip off company. Those two "dermatologists (if indeed they truthfully are) have sold buttloads of what basically you can find for much cheaper. If they truly wanted to help people with skin problems they could have made all that one the first few years and then made them more affordable without all this cheesy membership c**p, etc. I still think people are able to buy generic for similar results. Greed has no limits.
Two "dermatologists" who look like they came straight from Central Casting.
Load More Replies...A LOT of makeup is packaged like this too...I always open the box to check the size or look for the amount of ounces in the product.
Yeah I hate that. It’s such a waste of packaging materials.
Load More Replies...I don't know about Proactiv as a company, but I don't see anything misleading in these packages. It clearly states how much product it contains and you can feel the weight. If the box were the same size as that little tube, there wouldn't be room for product information. For readable font size, at least.
I’ve always thought with these kinds of box’s it’s to keep theft harder, making the package harder to slip into a purse or pocket if it’s small and expensive.
Mostly they are for stopping people from stealing it, but Proactiv is usually sold via mail not at department stores.
Load More Replies...I used it for a short time many years ago, and it was the first ever acne product that actually worked on my skin. I'm in agreement though about the pricing- Most cosmetics are priced high but put any "medicinal" properties in the claim and the price often rockets
Density Of Pepperonis Visible Through Pizza Box Window Is An Inaccurate Representation Of Whole-Pizza Coverage
I'd be blowing up their customer's service phone & registering some big time complaints. Bullsh!t
It just looks like it shifted in shipping. There is way too much overlap on those pepperoni.
Sometimes the pepperoni can slide around. It's happened to me so many times so I get the cheese pizza and add my own pepperoni.
I've heard people defend this by saying the pepperonis shifted but all of them are like this and they are always conveniently shifted to whichever side the window is on.
Actually I think it’s usually valid just not on a shrink wrapped pizza
Load More Replies...Anyone who thinks that view through the pane is the actual pepperoni density deserves to feel cheated. The slices have clearly moved to one corner and there's too many in one area; they overlap.
Just pick them off and re-position them. There's plenty enough to cover it.
Great Taste, Not So Great Packaging
I don't know, some of these looks fake/staged to me. in US or EUR you will get your as* sued up for billions for cheating customers like this. Or - May be they mentioned it somewhere on pack and people didn't read the fine print.
I'm sure this is real. The shape of the white container proves that the box *couldn't* be more than half full and the clear plastic bit looks as though it's still sealed.
Load More Replies...actually lokum is turkish delight and does not contain chocolate.. the "real lokum" is expensive even in Turkey and 1€ stores with lokum sell something looks like lokum but totally b******t check https://translate.google.com/ type lokum in turkish ;)
There is no such thing as “traditional” greek delight to begin with
How do they keep th pieces from sliding around and disappearing into the open areas? It would look like there was NOTHING in the box then. Very self defeating packaging for this company!
Very Disappointing And Misleading Packaging
Seriously? Isn't the packaging supposed to indicate the weight? Doesn't the price depend on the weight?
Exactly what I was wondering, wth does "minimum 4 slices" mean?
Load More Replies..."Save 1/3" totally true, it's just that it's the company that is doing saves, not you xD

Mental note- never shop at waitrose, wherever that is. Multiple offenders on this list.
Scumbag Hillshire Farms
I got one of these by a similar company for Xmas. Their box had the block cheeses but it's still a lot of wasteful packaging for the sake of packaging. In fact the packaging is probably one of the most expensive parts and it goes in the trash! What a stupid gift! *as an aside, the family member that gave it to me has done much better in the past so no hard feelings!
I guess that family member didn't know how it was inside... poor person!
Load More Replies...So glad you're focusing on the important things in life.
Load More Replies...I hope the person handling the cheese is going to wash their filthy hands, look at those nails!
This is why its important to read the size amount on packaging. I mean if you know a standard block of 8oz cheese is such and such a size, wouldnt it stand to reason that a 2 oz block of cheese is going to be a LOT smaller.
Yes, exactly! I mean, come one - everyone would know that a block of cheddar weighs x grams! Like with the salmon in another post - it's common knowledge how much a slice of salmon weighs! ... Except, how would people know if they only get shown these rip-off packages?
Load More Replies...These guys ALWAYS come out of the woodwork around Xmas with inflated prices for big boxes of sample sized stuff, then dump their stuff for 90% off right after and disappear for another 10 or so months.
They Package Oranges In Red Mesh To Make Them Appear More Orangier
They are dyed anyway...I have orange trees, they are NEVER really orange....most of mine are yellowish with green still on them when they are ripe and ready to eat. (navel oranges, in florida)
What type of oranges are you growing and under what conditions? The way the grove is maintained and the variety of orange both seriously affect the outcome.
Load More Replies...This can be a result of some markets, where the customer judges a product just by the superficial appearance of it...
That’s why I like the Imperfect Fruit and Veggie Company. They sell all fruits and vegetables that would other wise be sent to farms as pig feed.
Load More Replies...But in some varieties that's a perfectly ripe orange. The color of the skin doesn't determine flavor. This I don't consider bad packaging. I guess you've never picked oranges right from the tree in Florida have you? They are no where near the orange of that bag and aren't suppose to be.
I live in Florida, and that is the color of an orange. I guess this would be false advertising to someone who has only seen an orange inside the red mesh bag.
Same with russet potato’s in a brown colored plastic bag, then you can’t see that they are GREEN and not GOOD!

Now Wait One God Dam Second
What's the content of the two packages? If the right one contains the same or more, the package is better than the other one.
Maybe but the bag should at least loo bigger. Chips are not that heavy, so the makers can't claim the smaller bag is heavier than the other one unless they added lead to the contents of the supposedly bigger-sized bag?
Load More Replies...The "Bigger Size" one is in comparison to the size that you normally get from vending machines, while the one on the left is the big "family size" bags that you buy from the grocery store shelves, I think.
That could be true. Only the stupid thing is, they hardly ever put the comparison on the packaging. Which makes it look weird.
Load More Replies...It's gotten to where I won't buy the name brands unless they're on sale. You can find off brands of virtually any junk food that tastes just as good but people are so hell bent

The Packaging On My New Screwdriver
.... look, this guy bought a screwdriver right? So, that must mean he NEEDS a screwdriver. Therefore, the packaging choice is very poor. Unless of course, the company wants you to get another screwdriver, to unscrew your first screwdriver...
Load More Replies...Love it! You need another screwdriver to unscrew the screw in order to remove screwdriver! Don't ya just love multitasking??
This one is pretty funny, but super stupid extra expensive added waste! Consumers need to do more than just post pics complaining on the internet, they need to get on the news and complain very very loudly.

Where's The Rest Of The Cheese?
So it seems Tesco is notorious for misleading people with its packaging? Shame on you, Tesco!
Tesco is a sh*t show. They lie lie and lie all the time. I dont know why the hell people still shop there
Load More Replies...The point is that the cheese is put on a pedestal so it looks like it's mass goes as deep as the width of the chili-glass. Yes, probably you should know how much a block that (suggested) size of cheese weighs so you'd of course would NEVER fall ffor that cheat. People don't realize that companies cheat because you let them cheat. And they get away with it. Because you'll always go for the big box first (otherwise noone would bother making them bigger than necessary)
Clearly it is supposed to be two different cheeses and (supposedly) some chutney. Customer obviously can't read.
100% obvious that there is nothing else in that packaging before you open it. This post doesn't work here.

Packaging That Tricks You
I don't know how it exactly works where you live, but don"t forget that the product has a weight written on it, refer to that, not to the side of the box. If you paid for 200g, you will get 200g.
i eat this paté quite often, the cardboard sleeve is very easy to slide up and look at the paté underneath before you buy it. also you pay a good price that's affordable for this. so no, it's not misleading.
When Companies Leave Room In Packaging For No Reason
Sometimes I know they do it to increase the overall packaging area to have enough space to print all the information they want to print. Some do it for maintaining the size of all strips to same dimensions, so that they don't have to order different size boxes.
There is also some other legit reason i read somewhere.. cant remember it though.
Load More Replies...That looks like Dayquil, which I just finished my second box. Not only do they give you a blank space in one of the packs, but you have to use scissors to get the capsules out in the first place! I am sick, I don't have time nor patience for puzzles.
Actually I figured out EXACTLY why they do this! It is so that, with a red and blue Sharpie, you can make your own pair of mini 3D glasses! 1920122_10...021ab4.jpg
I believe they need to have a package a certain size in order to have a presence on the shelf, so they "stuff" the packages.

It does happen though. Bought a package of ham from a shop in the Netherlands (where they cut it themselves daily, not pre-fab stuff). 2 slices on top were perfect, rest beneath it were just messed up slices, too thin and falling apart. It's lame, but if it's still the correct weight, it's not cheating/false advertisement :P
Load More Replies...Tesco is really well-known. Could they really do something like this? It's so flagrant! I'd be running back to the store to complain.
They so something similar here all the time in the states. Package of pork chops all pretty on top, end pieces on the bottom that barely have meat on them.
There are a lot of things on this list from Tesco, seems like people should stop shopping there.
*Shakes Package* Hmm Feels Like There's At Least A Few, Seems Worth The Price... (No, It Doesn't Say On The Box How Many)
Pathetic, also doesn't even work. I'd rather spend a bit more on animals and get them what works. All the shelf meds for animals don't work at all. And the packaging is just wrong too.
I live in Canada and I was told last time I went to the vet that apparently the meds you often get off the shelf have lower amounts of the active ingredient than what a veterinarian can prescribe because shops don't have anyone with the medical knowledge on hand. Like, you don't need to ask for prescriptions, but someone in the building needs to know what to do with it.
Load More Replies...But.... it says on the top and bottom bit "No Tube Present" and in the middle part it says "tear foil to remove tube". 3 - 2 = 1. It's basic math.
Yeah, OP should have posted a photo of the box, if that's the misleading part of the package. This package looks pretty clear to me, even though they have wasted some packaging material.

It's hot smoked, so it will look more like cooked salmon than smoked salmon
Load More Replies...The package says "..0g" so refer to that and not to the side of the box. Sometimes people have to stop being fools, don't know if it's fair or not for you, but it's clearly stated on the box.
Can't blame THAT on shifting contents! Of course, if you know how much that net weight is -- and aren't to impressed by how big the print is -- and the large yellow "VALUE" -- and red starburst graphic -- you might realize there couldn't be that much meat.

The Quantity is on the box. This is used so they can use a standard size box. Not only is that easier for production, but also for storage in the pharmacy.
I need quite a few different medications, and they love wasting packaging, but this one takes the prize 😂
Probably done to keep packaging size standardized (don't have to buy another size box or pill sleeve)

Far From Plentiful
Look on the back, serving size & how many servings. That will tell you how many are in there before you buy.

Holding My Cologne Up The The Light Showed That The Bottle Isn’t Nearly As Big As It Appears
This is the same case with I guess most of colognes, perfumes and after shave bottles. Always.
The thing about this is that the packaging should clearly indicate how many ml you're getting, so you're not being swindled out of cologne. Now, I'm not sure, but my personal opinion after having dropped more than one bottle of perfume is that the extra thick base makes the bottle sturdier it so that it doesn't shatter if it falls. I've let out more than one sign of relief!
They do this so the bottle is not as top heavy and therefore less likely to tip over and break. It gives it a more solid base similar to the foundation of a house
Also when it falls it has better chance to survive. Anyone ever broke flask like this?

you bought a 4 oz tube, what does it matter how long the tube is... it says 4 oz on the box and 4 oz on the tube....
Because-if it has to be explained to you-the packaging is misleading. NO ONE looks at the weight of a tube of toothpaste and can know how large it is. This is obviously misleading.

I can see this one. Those 4 blade holders are intended to fit in the base of the razor holder. Still looks ridiculous though.
The last slot in each remains empty so it can be used to remove the blade that is already in the razor before installing the new one... so max=3 or 6.
Well, technically, it would be 3 or 6 in that packaging if they filled it since the one empty slot on each is there for removing the blade in the razor itself before installing the next... functional packaging.

Box 30% Bigger Than The Ribs
How many of us can picture 14 oz versus 18 oz of various products without seeing the actual product?
What if you shake the box? Do the ribs move around, or do they have something keeping them in place so you think the box is full?
Time to stop buying prepackaged and pre-made (just heat and eat!) foods. Get some ribs from the butcher, and do them up yourself. Probably much better for you because who knows what the heck is all over those.
Sure you can, look at the net weight that is either pre-printed, or if it is scaled, then at the scale label that will tell you how much food is in the box before opening it!
No all products have a scale measurement on them, and if so, I'm not sure how to read them.

Here’s a weird thing I had happen.. I found a meat product, that you bake in the oven, not too expensive tastes great! So I wrote the company and told them how much I liked their product. They said thank you, and sent me a couple of good coupons. Well, the following year, they CHANGED THE PROCESSING OF THE PRODUCT, AND THE TASTE, CALLING IT NEW AND IMPROVED!! It tastes like shot now! And I haven’t bought their product since! If it’s good, don’t change it! It’s like new coke, it was nasty!
Shake it, before buying. I check to see if inside sounds like it’s sliding around, if so, won’t buy it. I’m tired of chip bags saying that they are only half full by the time they reach the shelf, because of settling! If you know they settle, stuff more in there! Some bags actually do have more in there than others, I do a lot of feeling for extra in needed space in bags!
You Could Fit Another Two Cookies In There, But Why Bother If The Packaging Obscures Them?

Haha, they put another package instead of putting a tag in your language or something? But why is the weight different, isn't packaging supposed to be excluded in the weight?
Inner packagings are sometimes included. In the EU, inner packaging is a big deal and included in the price because they have to pay taxes on extra wasteful packagings.

Crayola Deceiving Packaging
I don't see the problem? It says 8 colors, and it has 8 colors and for the amount, it looks like the same amount? Is the problem that the form is different-one looks flat and rectangular and they are, in fact, long and narrow? I'm just curious.
I think the problem is the big hollow part in the middle. The top shows the colors going all the way to the center but there is not as much product as shown on the lid. Just a guess
Load More Replies...It makes it look like you're getting more, and the question is, why the space? Either fill it with modeling clay or change your packaging. It only adds more to a landfill. The point is the ONLY reason they add the space is to deceive.

All these products are tiny because you only use a tiny bit, some people are desperate for the miracle cure and will keep spending the price for it. Eat right, exercise, stay out of the sun.
same thing happened to my mom yesterday, in the store they kept the cardboard box inside a plastic box (empty), so you only get a look at the product after paying for it, and being given the actual box with the cream
L'Oreal packages like this to hinder shoplifters, like so many of these companies.
If you buy this sort of product regularly, you get used to the idea that the smaller the ultimate jar, the higher the price. Some people consider smaller to be higher value, but we all are used to the idea that those actually containing a lot are the "cheap stuff" for better or worse.

Packaging Trickery
If the amount was a 70 piece box then there's nothing wrong with this packaging. It's a matter of shipping of course. It could be a buy 60 get 10 free boxes and it's still a shipping issue. Not all companies will change their box size for cost reasons so, they enclose what the have as a normal size they sell.
it is visually misleading regardless of whats written on the box. it can be legal but unethical at the same time.

People often rant at the European Union and its tendency to pass nanny state regulations.
