92-Year-Old Man Dyes Wife’s Hair Amid Lockdown As She Can’t Go To The Salon

In these trying times of coronavirus pandemic, people are tried in many different ways. Our daily, weekly, and monthly routines are in shambles, and many are forced to adapt to the changes. One of the most common challenges for most of us is having to do without our grooming that was, up to this point, done by caring professionals. Now with haircare professionals waiting on the sidelines, one could automatically assume that no-one would care for the hair. But there’s always someone that cares.

Take, for example, this pair of 92-year-olds, who are not only parents and grandparents, but also great-grandparents. They’re also great husband and wife, as you’ll soon find out. Due to being in a risk-group of people to whom the contraction of the disease may have stark consequences, it’s no wonder why grandma had to forgo her hair dying appointment. And due to them being married for 67 years, it’s also not surprising why Ezra, her husband, would take it on himself to take care of his wife’s hair.

The moment was shared by his grandson Israeli Yael Shapira Avraham, on Facebook. It said: “These are my 92-year-old grandparents. In all situations, my grandfather is concerned about my grandmother feeling well cared for. We don’t see things like that every day.” Soon enough, the photo went viral, with the original share reaching nearly 60k likes.

Putting social media fame aside, the picture has a more pure and sensitive message behind it. “My grandfather always worried about seeing my grandmother well; the love between the two inspires our whole family. It was beautiful to see the image of my grandfather dying my grandmother’s hair because anyone can see in this photo the meaning of the true love, “- Yael said to Bored Panda. And just to get the scope of what this whole family might consist of, the 92-year-old pair has four children, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

“They did not expect such a response, and are very happy to see each other on TV,” said Yael, the grandson who took the photo.

I am a Brazilian digital artist who loves transforming imagination into hyper-real visuals. I work with artificial intelligence and image editing to create what I always wondered as a child: how would our favorite characters look in real life? Over time, many of my artworks have gone viral and were featured in international publications. I have recreated realistic versions of cartoon characters such as Disney and The Simpsons, imagined how celebrities who died young would look today, and even gave modern faces to historical figures like Mona Lisa or Shakespeare. Beyond entertainment, I created Para Não Esquecer, a social project that revisits memorable criminal cases in Brazil. My goal is to honor victims, keep memory alive and remind society that justice and empathy matter. I also write for Bored Panda, where I create articles featuring artists, photographers, rescue stories and feel-good moments from around the world. My work aims to highlight creativity, kindness and emotional storytelling. In everything I do, my purpose is the same: to touch hearts, evoke emotion and make people feel something real.

Why does she have to give them to him? Can he not get them out of the box himself? Why's it her responsibility?

that's sweet, but, at her age why dye your hair? We live in a society where you are shamed for everything that's natural, including growing old and having "white hair of wisdom"

It's whatever makes you feel good. It's really up to each person, don't you think?

I suppose the big deal is that it's a man dyeing hair. He becomes a superhero for doing something that's "a woman's job", is it? Yes, it's nice, but so is making a cup of tea. Hardly a big deal, though.

The big deal is that such an elderly couple are still together and still so in love with each other that they will help each other out when it is needed no matter what. As for a man doing a “woman’s job” - there are plenty of male hairdressers out there (not just male barbers). This is about love. If you had a heart it would be warm right now. If you had a brain, nvm.
