9 Artists Illustrate The Romanian Protests Against Corruption

For almost a week now, hundreds of thousands of Romanian have been protesting daily in tens of cities, both in Romania and abroad. After the government issued a decree which would severely cut the penalties for corruption, thus helping politicians escape prosecution, civil society has proved itself restless in its pursuit against the corrupt politicians. The protesters ask for the cancellation of the emergency decree and for respect for the rule of law. They also stand against Liviu Dragnea, the leader of the ruling party, who has taken a firm stand against protesters. Still, the citizens keep taking to the streets every day, with more and more creative messages against corruption. 9 Romanian artists have illustrated these protests.
