Artist Continues To Transform Strangers Into Pixar-Like Cartoons, And The Result Is Pretty Amazing
Did you ever wish to have your star moment in a blockbuster? How about an animated hit? Lance Phan is a gifted digital artist who makes strangers’ childhood dreams come true by transforming them into awesome cartoon characters that look like they stepped out from a new Pixar or Disney film.
Lance has an inarguably incredible set of skills, but the magic of his work lies in the details that give animated characters a real and charming personality. His character designs perfectly resemble the human subjects and whole fantastic animated worlds around them that could serve as an inspiration for a new movie script. From a walk in the park to a cute relationship and a wedding photoshoot – his digital drawings are as uniquely diverse as people’s lives are.
Previously featured on Bored Panda, the artist returns with more cool drawings that have gained him 101k followers on Instagram and countless commission requests on his website.

I mean, these two were practically Pixar characters from the beginning.
ASIAN HARRY POTTER AND GINNY sorry maybe I'm the only one but I instantly saw that !!!
The nose is wrong - it's part of the character of her face - without it, she loses something.
I like the matching, “twisty” hair on merrily wisping along on the right side of her face.
Why are you so full of hate annd critisizm that is all I hear from you. And that is the artists style so stop critising it you are not critizing her skills you are critizing her style which I think is beautiful and captures peoples looks perfectly!!
Load More Replies...This is spectacular!! She needs to sell them because i would buy them all~
So why don't you draw it as it should be. Oh wait, you can't!
Load More Replies...I love how you made it look like the cartoon was in a low-quality photo, just like the real one!
its sad how they had to slip the waist line to meet 'pixar standards". she was more beautiful in the original.
Love the attention to detail : see the Reflection in her eyes? Selfie! Clever.
I love the photo more than the 3d-illustration. There's more character in the photo.
While I adore other pieces of his art, this one isn't very compelling for me. It looks more plain and underdone, as if artist pays less attention to the details, comparing to his other works.
"Enuya" critic of something you could never possibly do. << See what I did there?
Load More Replies...Interesting subject x fantastic medium = fascinating results
Ooh the mom looks so villainous :) she'd be the perfect antagonist for a movie with a wonderful redemption arc- affection for her son
the mom looks like the evil with from once upon a time(SERIES ON NETFLIX) and henry the son
Load More Replies...Spot on. Waiting to see their “Golden Anniversary” portrait 50 years from now.
Yeah. She also is, in some way - although her eyes scares the hell out of me.
Load More Replies...Did they seriously add a cross necklace? She's not even wearing one in the original pic!
I assume that she asked for it. I don't think the artist would have just added it for no reason.
Load More Replies...Awww they are such an adorable couple or people (if they are not a couple)
Really? I didn't know that... Soooooo, a kirbaphobiac's worst nigtmare would be that guy from JerryRigEverything, right?
Load More Replies...No I agree, the previous ones were much better
Load More Replies...Not as “spot on” as others but maybe this was done much earlier and the artist’s technique has improved.
What is "no" about it? I think I see where you might be coming from with that opinion, but I don't really see it, so could you please explain your comment?
Load More Replies...i am concerned that she is wearing MAKEUP, and she is clearly too young to look like an udult
SHE LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE CABBAGE PATCH KID!! Aww i could almost hug her through the screen!! I have a weakness for cute kids. When i am mad all i need is a hug from a little kid and then i'm happy!
She looks beautiful without a smile! Either way the girl is beautiful both ways. Regardless wheter the family requested it that way!
I swear to G-d, I was confused after an saw it was a child, for a moment there, I thought it was an age progression photo.
This one has the same problem as one of the previous ones. Her smile is just a bit too fake. Her skin also looks sort of plastic. Again, no offense to the creator.
I think that the wide smiles are a struggle for this style. The artist has the mouth shape right but the simplification of the art means that some facial lines have disappeared. I think this also might add to how you saw her skin looking like plastic.
Load More Replies...Such brilliant skill....why all the criticism? These artists are fab...do me, do me! Lol....
The lady doesn't look like she's looking at the camera and guy looks a bit cross eyed
Kids, it pays to learn skills. This artist's rate is 25 USD/hour. He stated in one comment on Fb that he spends 40-60 hours/picture (that seems absolutely fair to me). So the final cost will be around 1000-1500 USD/pic. If you want higher resolution, more angles or 3D that will be an additional fee (also seems fair). In his gallery I can see 42 portraits at the moment. That's around 42.000 - 63.000 USD. If you multiple the working hours we can say that this amount of money is a yearly salary, right? Kids, it pays to learn skills. :) Side note: Good for him and everyone who can afford his art. No harm feelings or jealousy by me. My only concern is about the World in general. As a nurse, a doctor, a fireman, a teacher etc. will never earn an amount like this. Life is strange. But that's not this artist's fault. It's just my weird thought about this phenomenon.
I'm sorry Agnes, but your info seems to be inaccurate. It's true that Lance said his rate was $25/hour, but the final price would not be 1000-1500 because he would re-used some of his resources from one piece to create another that would significantly reduce the production time. Therefore, the final price would be around 200-250 for a single person picture and 450 - 500 for a couple picture. He does however have an auction program on his website where people some time lay quite some bids, but there are only 2 slots per month.
Load More Replies...Was thinking the same. If you don't feel so good about your physical appearance, just contact this guy apparently. ;)
Load More Replies...Great work, but too realistic to be Pixar. Why don't they just classify it as CGI?
Yeah they definitely look more like CGI than Pixar style
Load More Replies...artist transforms common people to cartoon, result is pretty people
