Artist Who Has Worked With DreamWorks Turns Famous People And Characters Into Cartoons
Gustavo Soares is a Brazilian 3D artist well known for his cartoonish portraits of celebrities and popular characters.
"I love art, independent the kind of art (traditional, digital)," he wrote on his Behance profile. The artist is inspired by the Old Masters. "I love art history and I'm a big fan of the masters of the Cinquecento (Rafael Sanzio, Leonardo DA Vinci)."
Some of the portraits are realistic with authentic textures, colors, and shapes, while others portray some cartoonish, overly exaggerated quality.

It took me a long time before I noticed that Bowie had had no eyebrows for almost three years. One of the few people who could get away with not having them, I guess!

This one is really disappointing. As a lifelong Bowie mega-fan, it's a real shame that this particular drawing is so unflattering and inaccurate. Considering Bowie had such a beautiful and iconic face, to turn him into this weird alien / elvin caricature is unfair. I would totally get it if that was the point of the project, but it's not. The artist is a very talented person and has perfectly captured accurate likenesses of the other faces. Why distort this one so badly? And HOW can you do a picture of Bowie and miss the different coloured eyes? I would love to see the artist use his obvious talents in re-doing this one with a more realistic and accurate style.

On looking more closely, I can see that the eyes have been shaded slightly differently but Bowie's eyes were very different to these.

His eyes weren't different colors, one eye was just permanently dilated from said accident
