Last year I tackled mental health with the hopes of shining a different light on the subject.
This year I decided to take on our worst fears and create 31 phobias.

Claustrophobia - The Fear Of Being Enclosed In A Small Space Or Room And Unable To Escape
Athazagoraphobia - The Fear Of Being Forgotten Or Ignored And Fear Of Forgetting
I think this is practically everyone's phobia...
Load More Replies...This is truly terrifying. One of the only phobias that is actually scary
Well now I know what it's called thanks I feel like this time to time your artwork is amazing by the way thanks for your talent 💘
I have this, I like how the drawing is mostly empty, signifying the passing of memory and that everything will be forgotten. now I wanna hide in my closet ._.
Trypanophobia - The Fear Of Needles
This made me shiver just looking at it. Needles are one of my greatest fears. Amazing art though.
Needles are why I don't go to the doctor. (That and being weighed.) I'm more afraid of germs than sharp pointy things, & even if the needle is packaged I don't trust it. I have issues.
Arachnophobia - The Fear Of Spiders
Hi! I'm afraid of arachnophobic people.
Load More Replies...This is totally me! Doesn't matter what size either. Once they move, I am climbing furniture, screaming hysterically, shaking uncontrollably and I may piddle a little. The crappy part is that everyone I know knows this about me and they will tease me with pictures and fake ones...fkrs!
But jumping spiders are so cute D: btw spiders fears you more than you do them... Atleast you live in Australia...
Load More Replies...This one is just to damn close to home for me!!! The #1 thing I would burn a house down to just get away from!!!!
I'm terrified of spiders! I'm even afraid to walk through two objects that are close together in fear of walking through a spider web 😵 If you ever hear a super loud shriek either someone is in terrible danger of there's a spider on my leg 😅😰
They are scary, no matter how big (also I get panic attacks when I see one)
Tocophobia - The Fear Of Giving Birth
This might be what I have I never knew it was a legitimate fear with like a name or anything
I've heard sometime ago that there is a fear of "beautiful women" since then, I've never wonder again, what fears exist and have a name
Load More Replies...Nyctophobia - The Fear Of The Dark
I think all kids have this phobia at one time. Most seem to grow out of it. Unless you have an overactive imagination like me and see weird and scary stuff.... /shudder
This is what I have... it's one of the many reasons why I have insomnia.
Chronophobia - The Fear Of Time
Agoraphobia - The Fear Of Open Spaces And Crowds
I mostly stay home and go to work. That’s it. Now the offices have been all remodelled to look completely different, and I’m afraid to go there now.
I have this in a smaller degree with crowds it is manageable. But I have had it my whole life my mom used to take me into places as a baby and she said if there where too many people I would do nothing but scream and cry. It's interesting because I am 33 now and work in the medical field as a medical assistant in a fairly big clinic with different pod two small and one big my husband says he can tell when I work in the big pod because I come home and I don't want anyone near me. I like open spaces but not crouds and I hate shopping for anything in a store. Also the best way that I have found to manage this is with someone else I trust I hang really close to and when I don't know where they are I start to panic and get more anxious
Taphophobia - The Fear Of Being Buried Alive
Most people don't obsess over it all the time.
Load More Replies...I think this goes hand in hand with my fear of spiders! I have decided to be cremated for these very reasons!
Philophobia - The Fear Of Falling In Love
Me too! I didn't know this one exists! Now I have an excuse :D
Load More Replies...Some cool-a*s artwork there my friend! Looks like something Get Scared would use for their album art.
i have Philophobia cuz- well im single and a LOT of buys tend to just follow me round/act weirdly nice to me... & im not even 12+
Scopophobia - The Fear Of Being Watched Or Stared At
I kinda have this, but not where like I'm like constantly thinking about it.
this is my fear and when i first saw this I wanted this for a tattoo so I got it on my for arm
It makes me want to faint or nauseous and just makes me feel weird it’s also why I hate crowds and just concerts sometimes
Load More Replies...Coulrophobia - The Fear Of Clowns
Definitively the most creppiest picture till now :D
Load More Replies...To all of those that like to scare the c**p out of me with spiders, I will lurk in your dreams with clowns!!! (fkrs)
Cherophobia - The Fear Of Happiness
I had to google this strange phobia and it was interesting to read that it's somewhat a culture thing. Wikipedia: "...One of several reasons that cherophobia may develop is the belief that when one becomes happy, a negative event will soon occur that will taint their happiness, as if that individual is being punished for satisfaction. This belief is thought to be more prevalent in non-Western cultures. In Western cultures, such as American culture, it is almost taken for granted that happiness is one of the most important values guiding people’s lives..."
that is so true... it always happens to me i get so scared that something bad might happen after a laughter, something I can't prevent or control and then after a minute the fear that my fear might actually jinx it is even worse that my former fear.... I don't wish it anyone. We all deserve happiness and the type that lasts
Load More Replies...I want to meet someone who has this, then give them a freaking hug. not to make them happy, but to let them know it's alright.
Automatophobia - The Fear Of Things That False Represent A Sentient Being, Including Ventriloquist Dummies, Animatronic Creatures, Mannequins, And Wax Statues
I might have is can't stand the people who paint themselves silver like statues and I hate wax figures in museums they terrify me like mad puppets are okay but dolls like hard porcelain ones are a big nope
Dude. Who doesn't have this? There's a reason that an entire horror film genera exists for those. *Shiver* :(
Ecclesiophobia - The Fear Of Churches
I have this s**t, i stop breathing when i'm in a church, and feeling observed all the time. It give me panic attack and anxiety.
Load More Replies...There was a church in my mom’s old neighborhood that would snatch people’s kids to secretly baptize them during non-religious events. Needless to say, I’ve never been to a church for anything other than a wedding or two.
I don't have a fear of churches, although when I was made to go o confession as a child, I was scared of that. I can see why some people would be scared of churches.
I used to have this as a kid. Now I have a choice not to go inside any.
Kenophobia - A Fear Of Open Or Empty Spaces, Voids
I'm pretty sure you aren't serious, but just in case, I want to clarify what a phobia is. It is not just being afraid of something, it is a severe acute anxiety disorder. For example, people with arachniphobia have trouble looking at pictures of spiders, and sometimes even seeing fake Halloween spiders or just saying "spider". People with phobias will go to extreme lengths to avoid their trigger (for example- I don't go into corner stalls in bathrooms because I saw a spider in one [it had used the corner to make a web] when I was 8), and exposure to the trigger can cause panic attacks, nausea, fainting, and heart palpitations (amongst other symptoms). To truly understand what makes something a phobia, I recommend looking at the DSM5 diagnostic requirements.
Load More Replies...Omg I eas thinking about it today ! Because I saw simpsons serie about the void. Now it made me think ...
I think I have this. I just did not know it has official name .. cool.
That one as well. I didn't even know I had so many phobias, I thought I was "only" suffering from depression and panic attacks.
why am I the actual opposite of this ._. I like voids more than the real world!
I sit in my closet sometimes, just to have things around me that I know are real and won't leave. It makes me feel safer
Eisoptrophobia - The Fear Of Mirrors And Reflections
Or two facing each other, this is how you open portals to other dimensions.
Load More Replies...When I am home alone, I will bring a flashlight anywhere with mirrors and keep it dark so I don't see them.
i don't have this fear, but i do have an excessive fear of mirrors not reflecting what they are supposed to reflect
Necrophobia - The Fear Of Corpses, Death Or Dead Things
Ok, you don't "kind of" have a phobia. Most people in Western culture are uncomfortable by death, that doesn't mean you have a phobia.
Load More Replies...Yeah same... I don't have to work with corpses or anything, but I find death interesting, and even sort of beautiful in a way. I feel like I have more of an understanding of death than most people, especially people my age. I don't pity the dead, just those who have lost someone. In fact, death doesn't really make me that upset... People sometimes think that I have no heart, but that's not the case, I'm simply too philosophical for my own good.
Load More Replies...I don’t fear death. It’s actually kind of weird, once you experience death you don’t live to tell how it feels, so I think humans fear it because they don’t know what it’s like. Most people compare it with pain, that is intriguing because you can only guess, no one will ever know how it feels. I think once I die, I’ll feel free, all life complications will be over. Not much people think of death like a good thing, I guess that’s why I have suicidal thoughts. Anyways, don’t fear death! There’s no point, everyone will have to go through it right?
Trypophobia - The Fear Or Disgust Of Closely-Packed Holes
This picture just make uncomfortable and makes my skin feel curl up the longer i view it.
Definitely, have this too :/ Can a person have that much phobia? I think I have so many...
The difference between a common fear and a phobia is that a phobia interferes with your ability to live a normal life. For instance - I definitely am disgusted by closely packed holes and this sketch made me nauseous, but I am able to look at it (quickly) and just go 'blech!' So - a common fear. If I had been phobic, this image would have triggered a panic attack, or caused me to lose control of my bodily functions or something similar. I squeal like a girl when I see a spider, but can catch them in a glass no problem (common fear) my mom wets herself and faints if she sees one (phobia). You are normal, don't worry :)
Load More Replies...I feel this way but really mostly when it involves skin not necessarily like sponges or anything...is there a difference
Yes I think it's an inborn disgust of stuff that looks like skin disease or similar stuff, sponges don't bother me either.
Load More Replies...Is it different when you have this fear except with bumps rather than holes?
For me it's only when the holes are on someone's skin. It looks like some sort of freakish parasite nest.
Thalassophobia - The Fear Of The Sea Or Of Sea Travel
This is so sad - swimming in the sea use to be one of my most favourite things and now I'm so scared that I can even go deeper than ankles ;( where does this fear come from?
It comes from negative associations. Something bad happened, which you may have forgotten, which is connected to the sea/water and now you associate swimming in the sea with the bad thing which happened.
Load More Replies...I always wanted to be a marine biologist growing up (still do), but I live one colorado, so I’m about as far away from marine life as one gets.... I never learned how to swim, and have no desire to. I love the water, but it freaks me out to let my head go under.
I have this fear.. everytime i go to the beach i wanna at least see what's under my feet , when I was a child I loved swimming far away I loved how I didnt know what was underway feet the emptiness it was fun , but now that scares me , my psychotherapist said that this may have happend cause of an event , well tbh I was on a boat with my family and I jumped since we were too deep i couldn't reach the top in time but when i finally did i felt the bottom of the boat and the engine next to me , my hair were untied i got out as quickly as i could , i almost died that day
I didn't know I had this until I was in the middle of an ocean on a cruise...that was fun...
I can't even imagine this....the ocean is the ONLY place I feel safe XD
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDdd
Load More Replies...I have a very small amount of this one, but only with muddy bogs. When I was little, about five, my rubber boots got stuck in the mud and I almost drowned, but my neighbor's dogs (Rottweilers) pulled me out. (wait is there another word for this? *googles* hmmmm! Cleithrophobia! the fear of being trapped!)
I have this one, not about the sea, because i can't see what's in below
I have the fear of being stranded in the sea and like on rafts I have to see whats under me so I cant use one
Pediophobia - The Fear Of Dolls
I actually have this, it started when I was in kindergarten and a guy told a story of a killer clown over and over , and now I can't stare at a doll, or else I start to cry
I’m scared of any kind of dolls Barbie dolls, porcaline, or any old dolls, and Annabelle and chunky made it worse
Load More Replies...THIS! I once house-sat from this family, there girls room {like 15 or somthing} was filled with old porcelain dolls.... just everywhere....., on the walls, hun in boxes on the ceiling, placed all over the floor and bed......all pointed at the door.......... I locked that s**t and never went back in there in the 2 weeks I stayed there ....even tho i slept in the room next to it I could feel them....was so messed up >_<
I got this and unfortunately it was developed after I got an American Girl doll. My family refuses to get rid of it
XD I pity anyone with this who would set foot in my room. I collect asian ball-joint dolls and have a ton of them. Some rather creepy on their own by design.
I’m a doll collector, and they’re everywhere in my house. Not a problem for me or family, but I’m surprised at how many people have this fear. I once popped off the back of a doll’s head and pushed the glass eyes back through to change tham out and the person I was talking to almost fainted.
Pyrophobia - The Fear Of Fire
To a certain "DEGREE"..I hope that was indeed intentional!
Load More Replies...Somniphobia - The Fear Of Sleep
I have this ALL the time. I fear the night. Insomnia and ADHD makes falling asleep HARD
My friend gets sleep paralysis a lot, causing her to see demon-like entities in her room/house. If I run low on sleep for a long amount of time, I’ll hallucinate weird stuff, too. Usually about me being stabbed... one time a snake crawled under my skin and replaced my spine though. That was a fun dream. It still felt like it was there the next day while I was taking an exam.
Sleep is the only thing that keeps my fears at bay most of the time. Until they keep into my dreams that is :(
I have this. I also have AIWS. It Stands for Alice in wonderland syndrome which is when you’re laying down, things shift like the wall or ceiling will get closer or farther away from you. So scary
Only when I'm neurotic or sick to my stomach. Come to think of it, it's actually more a fear that if I fall asleep, I won't fall asleep. So in a small way, a fear of sleeping.
Epistemophobia - The Fear Of Knowledge
I don’t personally have this phobia but I think I understand why someone would. I think it’s kinda like a “what you don’t know can’t hurt you” sort of thing. The more you know and learn, the more is to be afraid of. (I’m defo not a professional and I’m warning you now so don’t get mad if I’m wrong)
Aside from all the original, unique and witty anti-US jokes (a gold ⭐️ for all of you comedic geniuses, excellent work)- how exactly does the fear of knowledge manifest in, say, non-American populations? Does the fear of books or news, or even schooling play a part? Utterly fascinating!
How does it develop, and does it apply to new knowledge only? Anyone knowledgeable on the subject, please inform me!
Load More Replies...I used to have something akin to this when I was younger (I watched too many creepy shows about parasites and stuff). Basically, I was terrified of things that were so rare to occur just because I knew of them, until I realized that the saying, “what you don’t know can’t hurt you,” is about as dumb as sayings go.
I’m a huge bookworm and have always studied things, even if they creeped me out. Now, I’m not afraid of many things at all. I ate baked crickets for Halloween. They taste like sunflower seeds.
Load More Replies...Apotemnophobia - The Fear Of People With Amputations
You can't explain or rationalize a phobia. That's what makes it a phobia..
Load More Replies...This is my worst fear. I can promise you that if I see someone like this, I'll start crying/close my eyes, cover my ears/shake/stammer. That sort of thing. Trying to watch the Paralympics is like torture for me. Its rare to find someone with this fear too.
I'm not trying to steal the spotlight, but when i was younger i was terrified of people with amputations. Now that im a little older, im not terrified anymore, bug for some reason they mane me uncomfortable and it makes me feel bad.
Load More Replies...My nephew have this... He's 10 and when I showed a pic of a human without a hand or something... He said it's scary for him and asked me not to show this anynmore. Never knee it's and actual thing.
I am a 13 year old and I have the same fear. Its absolutely horrible, and barely anyone understands your pain.
Load More Replies...dont redirect them to here https://www.boredpanda.com/disabilities-halloween-costumes/?page_numb=1
I think you should do it, because it has to be the best way to recover from this phobia.
Load More Replies...Hylophobia - The Fear Of Forests
...they provide air though....but I can understand if the forest is dark and dense, but then again, that's why humans need to leave forests alone, if you're too scared to walk through the forest as it naturally is, then leave it alone...let me stop rambling 😅
Wow! I stopped half-way through the list and got inspired to do my own phobia drawing before seeing this one. I chose hylophobia, and it's cool to see we had the same concept!
Ophidiophobia - The Fear Of Snakes
I love snakes! And spiders, and frogs! I’m a freak of nature, I know. I want a snake so badly....
This is not about a sensible fear, as in "a big snake is on the loose and staring straight at me, OH F**K". A phobia is about completely irrational fear - for example interpreting every little sound in the house as snakes slithering in to kill you, or being reminded of terrible, murderous snakes whenever you see any long object such as a garden hose or a goddamn french baguette.
Load More Replies...my parents truely have this one since the time a snake slid into the basmant and almost attacked me
Bro everyone knows i love snakes, this art won’t change that even if it is gross
Emetophobia - The Fear Of Vomiting
I have this!!!!! I'm scared of when everyone vomits, whenever there is vomit I am as far away as I can get! But I'm so thankful usually I get diarrhoea instead of vomiting!
This is my worst fear. And yeah luckily I also end up with diarrhea rather than vomiting. Although I get reflux which makes me quite anxious. And if there's a stomach bug around, I try not to breathe in their presence to breathe in the bug!
Load More Replies...It's very very scary. People who have this like I do will avoid any situation that could even make us sick though. I don't leave the house, and obsess over hygiene. I refuse to even use my hands to eat. Phobias suck!
Load More Replies...Im not sure if i have this , but i always get anxiety and have panic attack if i hear or even know somebody is vomiting... Also i didnt vomit for 10 years, until this year's beggining i got super sick, and i didnt want, but at the end i was like : ok just do it and then it ll be better. After it, this fear calmed a bit but... jesus i just cant stand it..
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one fearing vomiting. I'm not so crazy after all!
I've had this for as long as I can remember.. I can't even leave the house. I'm actually saving up right now to get therapy!
I didn’t think I would see my fear here. Today I went to the ER because I get anxiety and pain attacks and it is always triggered by the idea of vomiting. I don’t know I need to get over my fear be she’s ignoring us escalating to other fears. I might try cognitive behavioral therapy to over come this fear. It sucks feeling nauseous or out of control when having panic attack or after eating you immediately have to go to the bathroom to induce diarrhea so you don’t get a panic attack and potentially “throw up”. F*****g sucks yo. The mind seriously messes you up.
Oh so that's what it's called I've been bear someone vomiting and I had a panic attack and got so pale he person finished vomiting and asked if I was ok
I have this, it's the worst. Fellow emetophobes, NEVER WATCH 'Knives Out' AND BROWSE doesthedogdie.com BEFORE VIEWING THINGS IF THE PHOBIA IS INTENSE
Yep... Thats me.. I vomited 3 or idk how much times in my life ... And that feeling of vometing really left s scar as a fear...
I have this fear and I haven't vomited since I was 4. And I'd like to keep it that way!
Load More Replies...I definitely used to have this. I don't think I do anymore but it's definitely not pleasant.
Blennophobia - A Fear Of Slime, Mucus
Every kids' parents have this. Now I know why my parents dont let me buy slime.
What if they develop a sinus infection or even a normal flu or cold...
Bogyphobia - The Fear Of Bogeys Or The Bogeyman
This was very beautiful to look through. Thank you to the artist. Very unique idea and I love how dark your style is. All the people saying they have every phobia in this post was v annoying though.
On the one hand, I agree. On the other, it was nice for me personally to realize how many others shared the same anxieties, even if to a lesser degree. Makes me feel...a little less crazy.
Load More Replies...once to scare me to be a good girl, my mom "turned" into the bogey man and scared me so much till this day she makes me think all about the terryfying humanoids that people see :(
i like how it says BOGY phobia makes more sense to know what phobia it is
my older brother used to spit his bogeys at me and sometimes in my mouth. i have this now
Verbophobia - The Fear Of Words
I have Pseudo Tumor Celebi..... my brain/nerves, are slowly decorating over time, and they started to affect my speech and words months ago, I stay mute now cause if I try to talk it comes out mixed up or the words will be messed, I used to be able to sing, really good too.... it took that all way...... if I do talk, to like friends, there super careful not to point out how I miss my words, even typing I mess them, you can see how online that can be horrible to someone like that
that is so sad to read :( I am so sorry. Please don't be mute..your loved ones and friends sure will understand and maybe help if you mess up your words. I often get words wrong or in the middle of a sentence just forgot the word..It's feeling weird
Load More Replies...I never really got this one... can someone try and simulate it to me in a way... a weird request, but I'm curios how you can be scared of words
http://www.phobiasource.com/verbophobia-fear-of-words/ Another article also said something about psychological abuse, and that certain words/sentences could be linked to a trauma etc. (Not sure if it helps, but this is what I could find about it. Didn't know this one before)
Load More Replies...I love words, reading them and trying to use them inwriting but I have a terrible fear of speaking them. I never learned how to use phonics so I can’t sound out a word and I am deathly afraid of mispronouncing words out loud in front of people.
That must be tough. Are these long, difficult to pronounce words that you aren’t familiar with?
Load More Replies...WOW! People with this would hate my old spelling class. We would spell the top 10 longest words. It was a comp to see how could find the longest word
it’s really depressing that that’s something people have to deal with now. Personally i can go without my phone, but some of my friends will go into a full blown panic attack if they misplace their’s.
Load More Replies...I don't have fear of fish, but I have fear of dogs ;)
Load More Replies...Woah! These are amazing and represent the phobia perfectly... I wonder how long it took for each one, since each day was one per day....
Really cool artwork! I had to look a lot of these phobias up. I have more phobias than I realized. Great work!
I love these depictions of the phobias. He's an amazing artist and the phobias are portrayed really well.
