Polish Artist Recreates 17th-Century Paintings By Adding Details From Modern World
What kind of music the girl with the pearl from Vermeer painting likes to listen to? Would Isaak and his girlfriend Rebeca pose for Rembrandt in fashionable glasses? Would Christiaan Huygens wear trendy watch while posing for Netsher? What if the great masters of Dutch painting from the seventeenth-century lived and worked today?
Polish artist called fotostyczna tries to answer those questions in her project. All photos were made at home with her family and friends. By using scraps of materials from discounts she tried to paint (with her camera) modern versions of well known Dutch paintings from 17 century by adding one piece of the present.
