I’ve met Nicolas when he was over a week old, he was the smallest of a litter of 8 pitbulls and for some strange reason his mum ate 3 of his siblings and was in the process of eating him.
She got to chew his paw off, but someone was able to take him away from her and somehow I ended up taking care of this tiny bundle of fur.
He was super tiny and without his mum to care for him and with his injury he didn’t have a good prognosis. But after days of 24/7 care with lots of help from my cats and my other 5 dogs he turned into a lovely dog. So I wanted to show a bit of our journey.

My cats adopted him as their own
I fed him every 3 hours and changed his bandage everyday
The kittens really looked after him as well
He always ended up cuddling with them
Gladly, with constant care from me, my cats and my other 5 dogs he turned into a lovely dog!

That puppywill never forget all those who helped save his/her life, love the pictures of the pup and kittens cuddling together.

In many cases the mother senses that something is "wrong" with the puppy, which leads her to eat him. Scientifically, this has been proven to often be the case. There were occasions when puppies taken away from the mother when something like this starts to happen to later find out that the puppy has some severe genetic problem or congenital abnormality. I hope Nicholas is really ok.

Or the puppies might have been fine and mother could have also been seriously stressed about something in her environment or she might have been ill. There are many reasons animals do that.

The owners might not have been home and they came home just as the mother was trying to eat this puppy.

Awwww. Oh my gosh, you did a wonderful job raising and taking care. Especially those cats too But why did the mother eat her young though?

Awwww what a precious puppy. Thank you for rescuing this tiny baby. I loved the cats cuddling with him. He is going to be a very good loving dog because of the care and love you've shown him. Waiting for follow up pictures.

I think the woman and her kitties are wonderful heroes!! She went above and beyond what many people would do!! She nursed that precious little pup, with the love and care a mother would bestow upon her own baby! Bless ALL of them!!!! ❤️
