Jillian Owens is a Columbia SC- based writer and designer who decided to promote a different look into contemporary fashion. Facing some financial difficulties and feeling uneasy about the fast fashion of these days, she marched the second-hand shops to buy cheap, old, but promising clothes and started transforming them into chic new dresses.
“A few years ago, I decided I wanted to change the way the world thinks about fashion,“ writes Owen in her blog. “I was worried about the impact on our planet as people tossed out their one-time-wear duds more and more quickly.“
The project turned into a blog and a full-speed hobby in no time. With her stylish and creative works Owens promotes a truly inspiring idea that fashion can be ecological, ethical and cheap.
