It was over a year ago when I lived in Ireland for five months. Based in Dublin where I worked as a wedding photographer. I grabbed every opportunity to take my two years old Aussie and drove to west coast of this beautiful country. Countryside is where I loved being the most. As a sheepdog owner I was really interested in getting more information about how farming in Ireland looks like. This is when I started this project. Traveling around the country, taking portraits of farmers with their dogs and trying learn as much as possible. I realized how important the dog is. I loved this respectful relationship between farmers and their dogs – farmers are well aware if they will treat dogs badly, they won’t be good working dogs anymore. Who will run kilometers to bring the flock back, if not the dog? It’s a working dog, but it’s a friend.
