Let’s be honest, the graphic designer profession is completely deadlocked. That’s the reason why I decided to make this CV out of 3D paper-craft (made through folding a pre-cut sheet of paper), shaped as a small bomb.
Every year, my profession attracts more and more applicants, making job hunting a highly competitive sport, battling against talented people, with strong personalities, in an insanely crowded market. Dropping for the umpteenth time a CV on the pile of an HR desk? Better play Russian roulette!
Odds not being in my favors so far, I decided to attract attention and encourage the person to meet me by delivering my Resume with a package containing a small surprise. It’s really a take it or leave it move, but so is my motto, so I believe it won’t leave anyone indifferent.
Following this bold approach, I’ve conceived and made my project during my training course at the Cepegra (Belgian centre of competencies in the graphic industry).
After producing the flat shape and layout of the CV and assembling a few prototypes, I was able to print by myself the final versions. I then cutted and folded them thanks to the cutting machinery which were made available by the Cepegra. Last, but not least, it was time to assemble the pieces together, hands and glue being my only weapons.
