So true, I grew up in Japan and I have mostly Japanese decorations in my house. We have pictures of ourselves in Japanese attire and everything. people who havent been exposed to different cultures sure have a way of calling out racism. I never heard the term racism or experienced it when i moved back into the U.S.

The phrase is "virtue signaling" comes to mind. They want to signal to everybody how progressive they are even when they are doing the opposite.

It's SJWs. For all their virtue signalling, they don't see minorities as equals. They see them as pets to protect, even when there's no actual attack. You ever watched one white person sit and talk to another white person about the "black experience" or the "Asian experience"? It's revolting.

Social media is what happened. All people (even those who really should just stay off their soap box) have an easily accessible source to project their opinions and complain about anything and everything for the whole wide world to see.

This world vision is made by people who are BORED AS HELL in life, who are addicted to drama, who want to shame others because they can't deal with their own issues, or worse; all of these. Europe and USA has always had a particular attraction for Asian cultures, that's why UK has chai, we had opium, oriental carpets and so on. Sharing (culture) is caring <3

Yes ! I once wore a gypsy skirt for halloween when I was around 10 years old, and when I got to one house the woman gasped, and exclaimed in joy in a foreign language. She was Roma, and just loved my costume! She gave me like five handfuls of candy, versus one piece for my friends, and I got a huge wonderful hug too.
