My name is Leigh Snodgrass and I am 16 years old. I was inspired by fashion illustrator Shamekh’s drawings and I adapted the idea to my own drawing style, a more realistic colour portrait. Usually my colour portraits take around 15 hours, but I find these smaller, less detailed drawings to be much faster.
After finishing the drawing I then cut out the clothes, and hold them up against different scenes; buildings, mountains, and clouds filling in the cutout shapes. It’s always so exciting to play around with the images to go behind the drawings because the possibilities are quite literally endless.
