These images are inspired by the timeless nostalgia and experiences that are characteristic of coming of age in Louisiana. Isolated from America’s more progressive culture, this series represents that awkward gap between my teenage years and adulthood that characterized the epicenter of my my deepest identity struggle.
Isolation and turbulence abound in these images of those closest to me while we wandered around searching for who we would become, in search of some tranquility in the midst of an environment that was anything but hospitable to our divergence from the status quo. We were lost and didn’t want to be found; up to nothing but in search of everything!
