I admit, I've bought a couple dresses, just because it had functional pockets!
The pockets are real!! I have some clothes with “pockets” but you can’t put anything in them coz the are stitched closed and are decoration only.
I have clothes like that, and I usually find out 2 hours into wearing them. # !! note to self check the pockets in the store. Katchen these ones are just fake fake. ... i got hypnotized by the pretty.

One of the highlights of my...er, um...first marriage...was discovering a hidden pocket in my wedding dress the day-of. Thank goodness, I was going to keep my lipstick in my cleavage! LOL ;)
I have at least 50 pairs of leggings/tights that don't have pockets , so I have 1 f***y pack that eliminates the need for pockets. Tights_no_...546cdc.jpg 
Tailors can make dresses and pants, with pockets in the exact size that a woman desires. Not everyone might be interested in going for that route, but, it is good to remember this option, especially since some dresses might have the right pockets, but the wrong print or color.
The other day I was wearing a new cardigan, it was bought purely for wearing at home when cold, and I was walking through the hallway, saw something on the floor, picked it up and put it in my pocket as I was not near a bin (it was just a tiny piece of paper) I actually laughed thinking of all the posts I have seen about women wanting pockets etc and imagined how if we had pockets in everything what would they be like. Have you seen the insides of handbags, the floor in cars, the glove compartment, our dressing tables and so on, it would be a walking junk drawer. Less pockets is potentially doing us a service :D (jk if you want them have them, but it did actually make me pause and have those thoughts, which was funny enough)
