In an interview with Swoon, Garza discussed the challenges Kitty Song-Covey will face in the new season.

Kitty is known for meddling in her friends’ lives, often causing drama. Garza teased that while her chaotic tendencies remain, her step into adulthood will spark unexpected self-realizations.

  • Season 3 will explore Kitty's shifting relationships and the pressures of approaching adulthood.
  • Several cast changes and surprise guest appearances are set to shake things up.

“I think this season, we’re really seeing [Kitty] turn that lens inward, and yes, it’s very messy, but she’s going to find that life rarely follows a script,” Garza said.

Season 3 takes place during Kitty’s senior year as she returns to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS). She has her final year mapped out, but as Garza hinted, things won’t go according to plan.

“Life and love don’t follow a script, so she has to just learn to lean into the unexpected,” the showrunner said of Kitty’s season 3 journey.

Garza added that the season will focus on the characters dealing with the tension of “almost being an adult,” experiencing a “difficult transition” phase.

The season 2 finale showed Kitty preparing to confess her feelings for Min Ho, but the pair will struggle to define their relationship when season 3 begins. Meanwhile, she will also reunite with her older sister, Lara Jean Song-Covey.
