23 Stunning Macro Shots From 35AWARDS That Prove A Single Drop Of Water Can Hold A Whole World
Every morning, gardens around the world wake up covered in thousands of tiny glass sculptures. They appear overnight, catch the first light of the day and vanish as soon as the sun warms up. Most of us never stop to look at them properly, but a handful of patient photographers have made it their mission to do just that, crouching in damp grass at dawn to capture the dew before it disappears.
The images below were shared by 35AWARDS, an international photography competition founded in 2015 by the creators of the online community 35photo.pro. It’s open to amateurs and professionals alike, and one recent edition alone drew more than 123,000 photographers from 173 countries. These close-ups stand out from that flood of entries: dragonflies dusted with morning dew, a ladybug surrounded by glistening beads, fluffy seed heads glowing at sunset, and petals that seem to hold whole landscapes inside them.
