This Photographer Turns Everyday Street Scenes Into Clever Visual Stories (80 Pics)
Some photographers wait for perfect lighting, while others find the magic hiding in plain sight. Dan Morris, a wedding photographer originally from South Wales and now based in Cheltenham, seems to have a sharp eye for both. Beyond his wedding work, Morris captures street scenes from the cities he visits, turning ordinary moments into layered, colorful, and often surprisingly funny visual stories.
His street photography has a way of making people, objects, signs, buildings, and backgrounds feel as though they briefly belong together. A hat can echo the shape of a dome, a coat can blend into the colors of a crosswalk, and a crowded staircase can become a carefully arranged scene without anyone posing for it. Whether he is photographing New York, Istanbul, Marrakech, Cyprus, or somewhere else entirely, Morris manages to catch those split-second alignments that most people would walk right past.

They all chipped in for a "cab" to Queens to audition for "Sesame Street". None of them got the gig. This is them on their way back.

A friend of mine and I were walking along this quay. We kept hearing this guy in a panda costume repeating the same number over and over: "Five, five, five... five." I told my buddy he should go ask the panda what that was all about. So he walks over to ask him, and the panda holds out his arms for a hug. We’d had a few drinks, so my friend didn't think anything of it and went to return the embrace. But then the panda suddenly spun around and shoved him off the quay into the water with a loud splash—and all the panda said was: "Six, six, six..."

“I am half willing to believe that the celebrated dogs of Constantinople have been misrepresented—slandered. I have always been led to suppose that they were so thick in the streets that they blocked the way; that they moved about in organized companies, platoons and regiments, and took what they wanted by determined and ferocious assaulṭ; and that at night they drowned all other sounds with their terrible howlings. The dogs I see here can not be those I have read of. I find them every where, but not in strong force. The most I have found together has been about ten or twenty. And night or day a fair proportion of them were sound asleep. Those that were not asleep always looked as if they wanted to be.” (Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad (1869), Chapter XXXIV, “The Slandered Dogs of Constantinople”)

Some beautiful locations, amazing people, and gorgeous colors. I'm really amazed at the almost complete lack of litter on the ground in every single one of these photos. I thought Switzerland was the most trash-free location on Earth, but it has a bit of competition. There are some good people out there.
