It is completely okay to have different opinions about music or food or anything else for that matter. It is also normal to not agree with one another. But there are some people in this world, who may have gone too far with their opposing views or are just trying to get on everybody's nerves. Recently, people on Twitter started sharing their unpopular music opinions, and some, while weird, are still acceptable, for example, standing by their love of country music. But then there were some who's opinion are simply outrageous, from calling the Beatles overrated to saying all rap music sucks, these people are definitely trying to stir up some arguments, and well, they succeeded.

I don't understand why she's "Queen Bee". Nothing special about her.
I don't really care if it's overrated,I listen to music i like.
She used to be more of a leading lady, on track to be a classic like Whitney or Mariah. But she started getting so full of herself and her messaging that her talent got lost in it. 2009 Beyonce was leagues better than 2019 Beyonce is.
Her old music was way more generic than the stuff she's been put out in the last few years, I mean comparing songs like "Baby Boy" to something like "Formation" and you can see real musical growth, she's always had talent but I think she's gained artistry over the years.
Load More Replies...Reed is my hero, I have been saying this for years. She was not the strongest voice in DC. Beyoncé is a perfect example of awesome marketing.
That's why my favorite song is Vienna by Billy Joel
Load More Replies...And also a lot of oily, shaking asses in their videos. Normally I'm not a prude, but I find most pop music videos disgusting.
This is so true, not just of rap. People say to ignore the awful lyrics and listen to the music. NO! Unless it is instrumental it should be judged on lyrics as well
Hahahaha duuuude I was going to make the same joke. Music without lyrics is usually way better as, you know, whoever makes it usually really cares about it.
Load More Replies...I focus on music/beat first, but mostly because I can't understand the singers. I'm still Googling old rock songs from the 70's to find out all of the words, since I haven't been able to figure them out myself for 40 years. If you want someone to hear your lyrics, make sure we can all understand them.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH OML EVERYBODY YELLS AT ME WHEN I SAY THAT
Load More Replies...I think she's a great singer, but she's in no way "revolutionary" or "groundbreaking".
She's a great singer, but her songs are terrible.
Load More Replies...Her voice is phenomenal you can’t doubt that. But her music is dreadful. Real shame.
Yes! That voice is wasted on crappy songs sung by a mediocre personality.
Load More Replies...This is a bit off topic, but I'd love to see a duet with Ariana Grande and Irene Grandi just to troll the English speaking audiences about the correct pronunciation of their respective names. ♥
Lol. Too bad Irene Grandi doesn't make a notable album since 2003 and she already fell way too far from the radar long ago. Her peak moment was in 1995-1997. Still, she is a better singer than Ariana Grande big time.
Load More Replies...Yes i heard this too. I was really wondering, where? How? She’s really one of those boring artists. What happened to the music now? Another stupid s**t are Rihanna’s songs! Gosh I actually need to change music or press skip when she starts singing.
Load More Replies...Who would even be brave enough to make a statement like that??? Changing the game??? Hardly.
It depends from the station. But generally, yeah, too true.
Load More Replies...This one is so true--not the classic rock or classical music stations but more of "today's" music in my opinion is mostly stuff I'm just not into with a few very rare exceptions.
It's easy to say that "music these days sucks" or whatever, but classic stations don't play everything. 99% of music on the radio has always sucked, we just forget because they only keep playing the best stuff.
Load More Replies...I totally agree, i never listen to radio now. I listen to audio books or podcasts or my own music
Not all is garbage - but even the good stuff is overplayed. I don't listen to many of my favorite bands any more since they've been so overplayed.
That's why you find good bands that know body knows about. For example, try living in Zimbabwe and liking K-pop bands like The Rose, and N.Flying. Nobody will know. Ever.
Load More Replies...i wouldnt say hes terrible but hes waaaaaaaayyyyyyy overrated, like wayyyyyyyy overrated
YES!! And the lyrics to his songs are SO cringeworthy, case in point "She say, "Do you love me?" I tell her, "Only partly" I only love my bed and my momma, I'm sorry"
your dumb if you knew anything about drake you would know those lyrics have meaning to them
Load More Replies...Her attitude is just obnoxious, and she didn’t have to work hard to get to where she is today
No one's obligated to like her or her music, and honestly, I've only heard literally two of her songs, but based on what I know about her backstory, I'd disagree 10000% with "she didn't have to work hard to get where she is today."
Load More Replies...i still have no clue why she is as famous as she is, her music is garbage and ghetto
Ghetto hip hop is an actual music genre but don't think Cardi B fits in it or others. The hip hop subgenre I mentioned is very raunchy and sexually explicit. She is just very vulgar herself. Definition of "vulgar" may vary by any person. For me essentially is this: a person whom lacks proper education (from school and family) that uses too many swear words in common speaking and dresses and acts with rube, boor antics.
Load More Replies...I prefer video game/film music, I find it stimulates my imagination and is often well composed (John Williams especially)
Has anyone even heard the Skyrim theme song? It gives me goosebumps everytime I here it... Then makes me want to go slay dragons.
Load More Replies...It's definitely "real" music. I've always had a soft spot for the music from the Kirby and Mario games, and movie music sometimes overlaps in the "real" music category as famous musicians often compose songs specifically meant for that movie to begin with and then those songs often get radio time afterwards.
I couldn't upvote this more! How can it not be "real", I mean, not only there are legends like Nobuo Uematsu, who actually hold real live concerts out there, with a real orchestra, but the 8-bit sound itself created a whole artistic movement of musicians making music from old game consoles.
I love to study while listening to movie musoc, especially the lotr music. I even liked the lotr music before I saw the movies
studying while listening to video game/anime/movie music is great, because most of the time it's upbeat and doesn't have distracting lyrics
Load More Replies...Duh duh duh, duhduhduhduh duh duh duh duh duh duh duhduh!!! SUPER MARIO OYDESSEY!!!
Both songs with lyrics and instrumental songs can be immensely powerful!
Marshmello (hope I spelled that right) has some cool instrumental songs!
Load More Replies...True statement, but if lyrics are total trash, it does ruin the power of the song.... Likewise, if the lyrics are really good, now that's a jack pot. Anyway, yeah, sometimes, just music speaks for itself.
What about the unfortunate mix of am exceptional lyrics and a boring or irritating tune?
Load More Replies...I prefer music with lyrics because I like every kind of stories, especially the good ones. I like to listen to the text, be able to focus on it and get to know its meaning. It does not change the fact that a large part of the powerful and emotional music that I know does not have any lyrics.
That's because it's music and not necessarily a song. To have a song you need words
Load More Replies...Yes!!! Dude, I only knew a few songs from a particular artist, but my friends knew almost all of her songs. I still LOVED this artist, true fan, (Carrie Underwood) and at the the THE CHAMPION was most popular, and i knew that song the most, one of my faveorite at the time. Some of them said I was a fake fan since everyone loved that song. If I asked them today they probably wouldnt remember that...lol
So true! Popular songs are, in general, popular because they are GOOD.
Yeah, but you're not really a fan then. You're just a person who likes a song.
When I'm really sad, I tend to not wanting any music, for that matter...
I'm literally the opposite. Sad? Music. Dog died? Music. Moving to yet another continent? Music
Load More Replies...I listen to upbeat songs when I'm sad, to get my mind off the sadness.
Yes. This should be in the insparasnal section of everything. ( I forgot how to spell😭)
yeah. but i hate it when people categorize an artist as a person who makes 'sad music'. like billie eilish. some of her songs are sad, but a large number of them aren't.
I reverted back to vinyls and everything all the way back to 1930's. I can't even find the date where it stopped being music and just noise.
What is sad music? I think it depends on the person and their state of mind.
I hate elitist fans who pretend they're somehow better because they liked something earlier than someone else
This! Totally! Why hate on new fans? Nonsense. Welcome them instead. You're not a true fan if you can't appreciate people loving what you love.
This so much. If anything, I get super excited when people finally find out about this obscure thing I've liked for ages and I finally have someone to talk to about it.
Load More Replies...It applies also to movies, games, books and every other thing. I really enjoy finding new things that I like. Yes, when I find something new, sometimes I speak about it too much but I like to share my passion with other people. But then, there are those people, who are all like: "You're not a true fan, I knew it earlier so shut up." That's sad. There are so many good things in this world, why can't we just enjoy it together instead of rating who is a "better" or "worse" fan?
I personally dislike those fans that defend their idol regardelss everything. Like those rappers that treat like sh*t everyone including their fandom, and they just keep defending them! And literal kids offering themselves to them in a sexual way! That's way too much for a fandom, in my opinion.
so true. i hate people who go "you weren't here to support when they had their debut"
Yeah but in those days there was REAL music...AND LYRICS which meant something....AND there was variety. There were so many new bands, artists coming out each with their own unique style and sound....nowadays they all sound the same..same beats, same kind of voices also....there is nothing, NOTHING creative, nothing ''changing the game''.
True, and people even fail to admit how good a singer Chad Kroeger is. Such a shame.
Load More Replies...Just what I though, not too fond on them, but never thought they were terrible.
Hard disagree. They definitely aren't the WORST, but they have a very generic "samey" sound to them. I don't hate them, but I never listen to them. Honestly, most of the hate seems to be "memey" now that I'm much more bothered by people who react to that hate with "NO THEY ARE GREAT AND I LOVE THEM SHUT UP".
Maybe because the general opinion of their sugar-coated formulaic c**p is that its the worst in the world.
Load More Replies...Dave Grohl was pure gold when he said "If you listen to nickelback backwards, you'll hear satanic verses. Even worse, if you play normally, you'll hear nickleback"
No, everyone hates them because they suck. They have some of the most terrible lyrics put there, and I cringe every time I'm forced to listen to it.
Wow, a lot of brave people from Nickelback anonymous here. You have my sympathy. I hope you fully recover soon.
Most of her songs are just ok to me - not great. I think it's because she started so young that she was a sensation. If an older person had written the same songs, I don't they they'd be as popular.
I mean If you were talking Shits about her you should ask yourself WHAT HAVE EVEN ACHIEVE AT ALL?!
reputation was art. [but to be fair look what you made me do was really weak]
Load More Replies...Hmmm. Didn't he produce a large part of the nas - nasir album? And that album has mostly fire tracks, golden age vibes, so I don't really know what you are getting at? But let's just jump on the ye hatewagon, because he is doing his thing, haha
I’ve been a huge Kanye fan for over 10 years but I f*****g hate everything about Nas, so that album was trash to me too. And so was everything else he did in 2018. The whole PornHub thing is just so disappointing. I want 808s and Yeezus and Pablo, not wack a*s Graduation / Dropout Kanye and definitely not anything to do with Nas or Chance the Whoever or any of the s****y rappers he’s with. Kanye is like the best rapper alive and all of his faves are trash. I do agree with you that most people here are just on a bandwagon and hate Kanye and Kim before they hear the music.
Load More Replies...You've never heard of people complaining that an artist/band changed their style? There's even one comment at the Taylor Swift post that says she prefered her country style
Load More Replies...Prime example would be Linkin Park. They weren't limited to a genre. I'm quite eclectic in my musical taste so I liked all of their albums .But people hated the new stuff because "they weren't Linkin Park enough" , whatever that means.
Personally I hate new stuff, because they used to have beautiful music, new stuff sounds like white noise to me. And no I don't think that they needed to stay the same. I'm unhappy, because they evolved outside the type of music I can understand.
Load More Replies...This one, I wholeheartedly agree. Why limit your taste, and their musical talent to only a specific style...? Wouldn't that be boring after a while?
Depends. Sometimes if a specific artist gets out his comfort zone, the results aren't always good. Only few are able to change or alter their trademark genre. Primal Scream is a valid example: every album is different from the album before. They are mainly an alternative rock band but their most succesful record, "Screamadalica" is the milestone of the early rave days...
Load More Replies...I don't fully agree with this. Bands naturally evolve over time, but if one radically changes style, it's understandable why old fans would be unhappy. I come to an artist for a certain style of music. If I loved their metal music, I'm not going to stick around for a sudden change to pop. I think if the artist wants to start playing music that is very different it would be better to make a new band/new stage name. For example I like Celldweller a lot. Klayton (the guy behind Celldweller) makes electronic music in several different genres and he has a different stage name for every style he plays, and I appreciate that, because I know what kind of music to expect.
Thats like my drawing. People said I drew it wrong even if it's from my imagination. Only some people support me.
Take Lady Gaga, for instance. The album she did with Tony Bennett is amazing, and totally unlike her other stuff!!
Genres are only as powerful as people let them be. Kind of like politicians or government.
Yep... that's unpopular all right. And, FWIW, just because it's unpopular doesn't mean it's wrong... doesn't mean it's right, either
Load More Replies...The Black Parade remains one of my favourite albums ever... and I'm an old geezer.
I like them no matter what they are categorized as. idk why people let care about categories. If I like it I like I don't care.
Her 7 rings tattoo means Korean barbecue. She licked a donut in a bakery while making fun of "Americans". She got engaged and broke it off twice and she 25. She's not a role model unless you want to be a messed up stereotype.
She has maybe two songs that I enjoy, but I've hated every other one I've heard. I also find her kind of obnoxious, although I don't have anything real to base that on.
I find it a bit odd that a her oersobal life influences if you like her music or not. I dont care. I either like it or I don't.
No it really isn't a sad story, he just met the girl Delilah I don't remember maybe at a party, trough a friend and he told her would write a song about her and she would go to the Grammys with him if they got nominated which they did, he had just broken up with his gf, called Delilah and with her boyfriends blessing she went to the Grammys with him. The end. She was literally a muse.
Load More Replies...I prefer the parody version, "Hey there Cthulhu. " I'll always sing those lyrics instead whenever I hear it.
The best songs on Earth? Sweetest, innocent, cutest? Maybe. BEST? You've got to be joking?
I actually don't mind their stuff but it's 100% not good enough for a Grammy
I personally think some of their music is okay, but I haven't heard enough of it to actually judge their overall work for myself.
Everyone should be allowed to listen to what kind of music they want! There's garbage modern music and there's garbage music made in the past
When will we learn music and any kind of art is, in most cases, subjective? Yeah, there are really lots of examples of trash out there, but, once again, is my opinion, my taste in music.
More than a third of the listed bands/singers and/or their music are completely unknown to me. I feel so old now :(
I am still in school and I dont know these people...gaaaaaaah
Load More Replies...Today's music is DOODOO!!! Everybody on the radio these days sounds the same, you can't even tell the difference between them. Alessia Cara or Halsey? Khalid or Post Malone? Every singer on the radio has the same voice and it all sucks. This generation of rap-inspired doodoo music with overused topics needs to die.
yah. not everybody wants to hear about singer's breakups in an annoying fashion
Load More Replies...If all you sing/rap about is your riches, you're an a*****e singer and I refuse to listen to you.
Metal and many of of its sub-genres are underrated. It's difficult to find another genre that requires the technical skill of metal musicians; let alone getting upwards of 5 talented people in your act coming together perfectly.
