Moose are probably the last species you’d expect to be diving for a snack. Turns out, they’re actually excellent swimmers. When Pixie and Brutus comics creator Ben Hed found out about this, he decided to do with it what he does best. Imagine it through illustration. Ben created a strip, depicting a diver encountering this majestic animal underwater, and it’s just as awesome as his famous series about the world’s most beloved dog and cat duo.

After finding out that moose can dive up to 20 feet (6 meters), Pixie and Brutus comics creator Ben Hed decided to make this comic

Moose are the largest members of the deer family, and their appetite is just as huge. The animal needs to eat about 55 pounds (25 kilograms) of plants a day, which can sometimes become challenging. Luckily, they can satisfy their hunger by expanding their search for food underwater. Moose can hold their breath for a full minute and their large nostrils act as valves to keep water out as they dive up to 20 feet (6 meters). Usually, moose hit the waters for the nutrient-rich aquatic plants in the autumn. By snacking from the bottom of lakes and rivers, they ensure they get enough food to fatten up for the winter.
People had a lot to say about this little-known fact
I love his comics and especially Pixie and Brutus! His new one is great too
I know its nature, but seems kinda brutal if an orca would take a bite out of a moose. Learned something new today.
I can swim too. Elephants always trying to be show offs
Load More Replies...I learned somewhere else that the #1 predator of a moose is an Orca, so I told my know-it-all older brother that hates being wrong. I thought that he would think that it was interesting, and think that I wasn't an idiot for once. When I tell him interesting facts, he either "proves me wrong", doesn't listen, or lies and says "oh I know" and then when I ask him how he knows, he says "well you just told me". Do I told him, and he immediately says "that's totally wrong." And laughs in my face. And it's the WORST when he laughs at me. So I got a little upset and started scrolling on here and coincidentally found this article, so I showed him and he was super surprised but also pissed at me because I proved him wrong. For once I won a sibling war lol! Can anyone else relate?
I'm a Canadian and it's well known here. It's always fun to see people from other part of the world find out about this.
