Now that most of us are well into our lockdown lifestyles, Netflix and chill has become a full-time job. But some big-screen gems are better than others.
The newly released Netflix docuseries “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness” surely lives up to its title. The crime tale tells the life story of its eccentric protagonist Joe Exotic, who constantly fuels the fire in what fans call “the messiest show in a while.” Thanks to psychedelic ingredients like the mulleted zoo park boss running for president and launching a career in country music, the Netflix original series became high-caliber material for new memes.

The only reason I'm on this page is to let you all know that the tiger king is sick c**p. Why anyone would find this kind of stuff appealing is beyond me. What he did to those poor animals is also disgusting.Everyone that is even a part of this documentary is in it for the money. Since its release on March 20, “Tiger King” has become the No. 1 most-watched series in the US on the streaming platform. Kim Kardashian West and Sam Smith are known to be among its fans, while Jared Leto has tweeted some pictures dressed up as the king himself. Inspired by a living example of fashion faux pas, the cowboy look may be the next big popular culture trend for the summer season.
The directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin have said that Joe couldn’t be happier with his newly found fame. Goode told LA Times that “he is absolutely ecstatic about the series and the idea of being famous. He’s absolutely thrilled.” Chaiklin has added that “it all helped to raise his spirits” since the big cat keeper is currently serving his time in federal prison.

Tiger King started from an accident. The show’s co-director Eric Goode, who is a lifelong reptile obsessive and New York entrepreneur, recounted the turning moment when a van pulled up on the way to Goode’s initial reptile investigation.
“That man said, ‘Check out what I just bought.’ The driver pulled open the van door to show Goode a snow leopard cowering in the back seat.” From that point, the film crew turned in an entirely different direction.
After a 5-year-long journey spent working on the cool story of Tiger King, Eric remains an avid animal rights activist. He’s convinced that people in the big cat business are, after all, delusional. “They basically come up with some story that justifies the keeping of these animals. But ultimately, it’s a really selfish pursuit,” he told Vanity Fair.

Okay, I hate this. They really don't go into this on the show, but ALL of her big cats are actually RESCUED from places like Joe's. They can't be released into a jungle, they were taken from their mothers at birth, and she lets them live out the rest of their lives in her sanctuary. They spend most of their time in lare enclosures with acres of land to roam. No one EVER touches them except for medical procedures. I think she was painted in a really bad light.

Also, this small enclosure is just an area where they can feed them and then have them locked off from the larger enclosure while they clean it and so they can get a closer look at the cats without having to tranquilize them everytime. It goes along with no human interaction. They don't live in there.

I've been here a few times. The cats have plenty of room. This little part makes it easy for the caretakers to give them fresh water often. It's only closed so they can clean the rest.

Well of course they are not stuck in that tiny cage! But it's still a cage! And the whole design is to get the animal closer to humans while it eats or drinks so that she can make more money to offer an "experience". She judged everyone else for doing the same thing she is doing.

This show was absolutely heart breaking and difficult to watch. The fact that these people claim to love animals, and then exploit and abuse them is deplorable and incredibly sad. I hope, if nothing else, it creates awareness of how awful these so-called "zoos" are. Do not give your money to these places. It's disgusting. It was so terribly hard to watch new born cubs being immediately taken away from the mother. The way all these cats were being treated was so so shocking

Loved these! I first heard about this on a Spotify podcast where the reporter interviews all these people and I can tell you it was a wild ride just listening to this thing! Now it’s on Netflix is amazing!! I believe Carole 1000% killed her previous husband and is not all innocent in her involvement with the back and forth with Joe. They are both to blame.
