62 Photos That Show How Easily Our Brains Find Faces Everywhere, As Shared On This Page
Have you ever looked at a cloud and could swear you saw something familiar in it, rather than just a bunch of white fluff? Maybe you spotted an animal face staring back at you while eating lunch, or maybe something completely ordinary around you suddenly looked surprisingly alive. Well, it looks like you’ve experienced pareidolia.
Pareidolia is the tendency to recognize familiar shapes and patterns in things that aren’t actually meant to represent them. Our brains are particularly good at finding faces, but as the photos shared by the online community 'Pareidolia.org' show, the phenomenon can go much further than a couple of dots and a line resembling eyes and a mouth. The photos shared on the page are seriously entertaining, so we thought it would be fun to select some of our favorites and show them to you, dear Pandas.
Scroll down and see what your own brain discovers in these amusing examples. And don’t be surprised if, after looking through them, you start noticing faces, animals, and unexpected characters everywhere you go.
