Arber Halili is an Art Director, Illustrator and Photographer based in Pristina, Kosovo.
Photography sort of fell in my lap. When looking back at how I became a photographer it is almost like it rained on me. I didn’t have a great interest in pictures. Or art. It was small random sources hitting me different places and when faced with the crossroad and question of; “What do I do now?” I was soaked up in the idea of becoming a a software engineer and a surreal photographer. I’m glad I can say I have. The idea of becoming a photographer is now my reality and I’m truly grateful.
Ultimately, imagination is at the heart of what I do. The true pleasure of conceptual photography is taking something abstract and non-concrete and transforming it into a twisted and meaningful reality of its own. In my both personal and commercial projects, that core goal remains the same- convey stories, breathe life into concepts and externalize emotions through surreal and conceptual images
“Cosmology, Surealism ,Science and The Anatomy of Women World have always been intriguing to me. My attraction to the topics have compelled me to find a way to create images that combine elements from these dissimilar fields to shape a universe that reflects my unique understanding of the Cosmos. My goal is to find something that takes your breath away.
I dream to shoot my vision of spirit and soul. I set out to take portraits that capture people in their greatest beauty and truth, what ever that might be.
“Reality can be beautiful, but the surreal often absorbs me. Photography to me is a way to express and stimulate my imagination. Nature is simply the world. With alternative and experimental camera techniques I am able to create artworks that otherwise only would be possible through painting or digital manipulation in an external software, that’s why I try to create surreal photographs about emotions through visual storytelling. Sometimes I do Mix art with fashion, trying to create a fine balance of contemporary creativity. My work centres on a fusion of traditional imagery and digitally enhanced motifs, interweaving in a surreal composition.”
My mantra is be true to yourself, find your style, shoot what you enjoy, create with no boundaries and above all have fun! After all, the best creative photography comes from a place of truth within yourself.
