Step into a world where color speaks, lines carry memory, and every brushstroke tells a story of nature, spirit, and courage. The outdoor exhibit Art in the Park is now open, featuring the powerful and personal works of June Van Dunk, a celebrated artist whose creations amplify the voice of the Ramapo Munsee Nation and their sacred bond with the natural world.

Using a vivid mix of paint, ink, pencil, and digital media, June transforms canvas into conversation. Her work pulses with brilliant hues, rich symbolism, and emotional depth—each piece a tribute to the strength and resilience of her people.

Through her evocative visual storytelling, June celebrates the enduring reverence her culture holds for the Earth, and also dares viewers to engage with urgent questions about land, identity, and the future of our environment. Her work is at once a mirror of Indigenous heritage and a rallying cry for ecological and cultural justice.

Curated by Lisa D’Amico, Art in the Park invites visitors to experience art under open skies, where the natural setting becomes part of the story. The exhibit runs now through October 31 outside The Art Gallery at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve at 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, New York, with a public reception on Sunday, October 5, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. All are welcome to gather, reflect, and connect.
