Young girls in dark dresses with black hair around their doll-like faces - these are the main characters of Italian illustrator who creates surreal drawings with a touch of horror.
Virginia Mori, 36, lives and works in Pesaro and Milan, Italy. Her favorite media are pencil, ink, and ballpoint pen on paper. The artist gain following because of her unique, dark and surreal style and imagery. "I can’t say how I arrived at this style," Virginia told to stylenochaser. "It has been a long and slow journey filled with a lot of research, but everything came very naturally, in a very instinctive way. I just followed what I like to do."
Artist's illustrations often have a melancholic or the nightmarish feel to them. "I am not trying to explain anything with certainty with my art. I just want to suggest strange feelings and situations in a metaphoric way."

These are very nice pictures. :) I remember that many years ago I used to follow a deviantART user misskeima and she had also similar dark themed black&white drawings. I wonder if it means anything that all the other legs have long pants and different shoes than hers/the front legs..? If they're not all "her legs" in a sense, it feels uncomfortably vulnerable, feeling like you can't get away, no privacy, aren't allowed to control the direction of your own body. That's what I get from it anyway.

My immediate feeling is that father is with a new family, and she's the daughter from divorced family wanting father's attention. My second feeling is this is on the street; the man is a potential predator and girl's face in the window is someone seeing danger.

I think I read about someone who did that literally. They wanted to...let's say cosplay I guess?...being executed by a guillotine(obviously without the actual execution part) and got a real guillotine for that which they put at their bed(I think) and well...it worked better than they expected somehow. She really got decapitated. I honestly don't know what to say to that, on one hand, what an awful and stupid way to die, on the other...well...Darwin's law?

Symbol : dropping a flag during football halftime, stopping on the correct line and everyone else chooses the other to step on leaving you standing alone. Forgetting your lines in a play and you just freeze up. I only experienced one. I have noticed others out of step and just freeze. I just hope this has happened to EVERYONE at least once so they can feel the horror that goes on in you.
