It's a terrible way to hook up a generator to your house. In theory you're supposed to turn off the main breaker then use a double-plug cord like this to plug in your generator. This has two problems, one, you're likely to electrocute youself on the exposed end... but worse, if you forget to turn off the main breakers, then you're electrifying the wire that leads to the pole, and possible the whole neighborhood, so the lineman that comes to fix the power may get electrocuted.

This appears to be from a long-deleted Amazon listing. Wildly dangerous, I have a feeling it was created by an overseas cord manufacturer simply because they could, or because they didn't understand the implications.

There are some applications for it, but all of them include people doing something seriously wrong. The fact that they are manifactured shows you how often that happens.

To electrocute themselves or set the house alight instead of taking the christmas lights down again and turning them the right way around. Most of the times I see people talking about male/male adapters is because they hung the christmas lights backwards.

Around here we call it a "Suicide cord" Use it for connecting a free standing generator to the house when the power is out. Before using, disconnect from the grid manually. This will keep the line workers and you safer.

It is dangerous but you can plug a generator into an outlet and turn off certain breakers to run power though your wiring. Dont do it this way though. Its very dangerous.

You can not actually buy a two me ended cord to hook up your generator. You have to make it. I use a 30 amp line from generator to house. Had to buy a second male end and splice it on. Then there is the matter of adding a 30amp plug with a dedicated breaker. Anyway, where I live, power outages could last days. We do what we need to do
