There’s A Genius Street Artist Running Loose In The Streets, And Let’s Hope Nobody Catches Him (42 New Pics)
Tom Bob (previously here) refuses to simply live in the world. He's reshaping it. Creating street art on common objects in the urban landscape, he's perfectly personalizing his boring surroundings.
Whether it's turning a pipe into an anteater or transforming a fire hydrant into Princess Leia with smart execution of 3D art, there's nothing he can't do. Usually, Tom Bob graces NYC with his wall drawings, but sometimes he unleashes his graffiti art creativity elsewhere as well. Those include Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), and other places all over the world; wherever there's a wall, he'll definitely liven it up with his cool drawings. Scroll down to check out the newest creative drawings from Tom Bob and upvote your favorite pieces.

Psst!! Wanna Buy Some Time? (California)
And well paid by the community and mayor and state. I don't see why artists should be homeless and surviving when their work is nothing of what common people can do. Artists keep the mind and soul of a community alert and open our eyes towards hidden issues the government keeps throwing at us making our whole life a matter of survival basically.... See the food, the drinks, the vaccines, the deforestation, the poisoning of the land with tracking....
Load More Replies...OMG...imagine how beautiful the world would be if we did this to every "ugly" surface. I would love it!
My husband and I had a Migrant Tree Planting Company and planted trees from Florida to Maine...I had a blast leaving Street Art along the way 🎉 it was contagious...we would return the next year and people would have added to it.
Pink Flamingo (Massachusetts)

“I Don’t Want My Life To Imitate Art, I Want My Life To Be Art” (Long Beach)
This looks awesome, but the fire hydrant is the only one you shouldn't be painting. They are a specific color for a reason, whether that be visibility or flow of water.
It's for visibility, this one seems quite visible. My city has recently started a painting project of painting the hydrants on our Main Street to be decorative. The paint isn't an issue and hydrants are usually repainted every few years so they often build up many layers of paint.

These are really cool but as a firefighter this one isn't OK. That is the Fire Department Connection that allows us to add pressure to the sprinkler system. Anything that disguises this panel could slow things down and potentially endanger lives.
I felt the same way when I saw that. Also the fire hydrant.
Load More Replies...This one pose a safety issue thou. You don't want fireman loosing time searching for it.
Good ol Charlie Chaplin never fails to brighten my day. I’m so thankful my big brother introduced me to him.

Crab (Dubai)
I don't like this one. it's cute but wood is also beautiful. there was not need for "improvement"
That wood WAS gorgeous. if it had been something ugly to look at like the rest of the stuff it would be better. cute idea though
Load More Replies...Noooooo@ I was with everything until this one! The beautiful wood! That was a literal installment that was made with specialty wood and that artist just made that few thousand dollars go down the drain and made so much damage to that natural wood. Why did you have to do this? WHY?!
Congratulations jackhole! You turned beautiful aging wood and metal into a cartoon eyesore.
Painting a fire hydrant or street grate is one thing, painting this gorgeous bench and destroying it is vandalism.
Get Fit (Los Angeles)
Very cool. It would be amazing to look at an object and see what he see, before he refurbished it. Now that is how you think outside the box.

There’s A Genius Street Artist Running Loose In New York" and the car says Dubai..
It states that "Tom Bob operates in NYC, but sometimes he unleashes his creativity elsewhere as well," and goes on to list a few places including Dubai.
Load More Replies...This should be a thing everywhere, I'd love to bump into one of those in my city.
Too cute! But I could only imagine it being hit all the time
Load More Replies...The wesr and tear on the wood makes the crocodile’s skin look authentic.
It also said he has visited Dubai and other areas, sharing his art.
Once again I love that wood! Its so beautiful, love the art but not the platform.

Caterpillar (Taiwan)
The problem with this one is that it is an A/C unit, Not good to play on, and If I was a kid, I would want to ride it and play on it. But it is a Nice one.
If I Only Had A Heart (Massachusetts)
Quick someone read the license plate and argue about where this is or isn’t....
It is a OLD Police / Fire Call Box from before phones were invented. Tehy took out the infrastructure but left the boxes in place all along the East Coast. This one Says City of New Bedford 1929 on it , right below the painted heart. New Bedford Massachusetts. https://www.vox.com/videos/2017/8/24/16125850/dc-fire-police-call-boxes-emergency-services
Load More Replies...Just read that Jerry Maren, the last remaining Munchkin of the Wizard of Oz, has died, age 98. So fitting that this Tin Man is from his home state, Massachusetts...
Snake On Broadway (New York)
The coolest street art in NYC was the purple footsteps that went from midtown on Broadway all the way to the Bowery Garden. They were fresh when I moved to NYC in 1987, but almost gone when I moved out in early 2000s. The artist had paint pans on his bicycle and dipped his feet as he sat on the bike. I'm glad I followed them downtown: the garden on Houston and I think Lafayette was beautiful.
When You Gotta Go... You Gotta Go... (Long Beach)
No peeking! And you know what they say about green men with long necks...
Jump Rope Girl (Dubai)
It's probably Dubai.... the info says the artist is based in NYC, but does his thing abroad too...
Load More Replies...Back To School (Massachusetts)
The more you decorate hydrants to look like "art", the slower fire fighters will be able to locate them and put out your fire.
Can I help you cross the street? Can I help you cross your lawn? Can I help you cross your porch? I gotta help you cross something!!
One Love (New York)
Pin Wheel Girl (Taiwan)
wondering how he was able to paint the fan blades without messing up the mesh
i'm thinking they took the fan apart, painted, then put it back together
Load More Replies...These are all by different artists around the world. This simple style is definitely different to many others.
“Are You Not Entertained?” (Los Angeles)
Nobody with a "This is Spartaaaaaaa!!!" comment?!? Surprised am I...
I Love Lamer (Dubai)
Clever, but the pole looked pretty and rustic, I liked it the way it was.
I'm embarrassed how long it took me to figure out what "la mer" meant.
Aliens Have Landed (Round Hill Beach)
I'm glad he is, don't get me wrong, but why's he wearing shorts in the shower?
Load More Replies...one clean space man washing himself and his laundry at the same time.
Probably his bathing suit. Looks like it's bathroom/showers... at the beach.

As someone who does have ADHD, I can back this claim up.

After living in the East village before gentrification, I sure hope this artist got permission from the building owners. "Chico" the most famous graffiti artist in the East Village usually did. But when he didn't, building owners were rightfully upset. (I interviewed him in Lucy's Bar in the early 1990s. Someone gave up his identity, he agreed to paint jobs on commission only with permission from the building owners and store owners [when painting their city gates] ).
“Oh, What Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice To Deceive” (Dubai)
Again, THIS turns an eyesore into a playful scene. No one's building ruined. No one's commissioned art in Dubai, for example, painted over (the wooden benches, wooden parking lot supports, wooden beach posts). This one is fun. It's like the artist is cleaning up someone's mess, not painting over someone's already beautiful property.
Tis The Season (Miami)
Groundhog Day 2018
I wish I could keep re-doing Groundhog day like in the movie, and find that we elected a REAL president.
now this is scary poor ground hog , looked in the mirror and saw this
Hold Me Close And Hold Me Fast, The Magic Spell You Cast (Miami)
Things were added to make it pop, some objects weren't originally there. Also these are not all of the same artist, I believe they are all different, some from the same but I think it's a collection of street art.
*** actually looking back at it, they removed the top grate to paint the underside, also the picture is with it removed.

why do you think he looks worried , maybe because he may lose his hands

Load More Replies...I Love La (Los Angeles)
Whomever the artist might be, should do this in all of the major cities in the country. For pay of course. These are entertaining as well as cool art. Get rid of city eyesores.
Yes. Get rid of city eyes sores, is one thing. Keith Haring's work was a beautiful thing to behold on the ugly black poster holders in the subways in the 1980s. He painted the entire hallway to his loft without permission (my girlfriend lived there after him). The building owner reemed him out because of this, but then she sold the painted sheetrock after he died. I'll never forget when a famous NYC graffiti artist painted the entire side wall of a famous/ old Ukrainian restaurant with a beach scene (without permission). He created an eyesore in an otherwise old school Polish and Ukrainian area (which 100 years earlier was Irish and Italian). This was the artist I mentioned who got caught in the 1990s and only did work on commission from then on. People will pay for beautiful murals. Just ask first.
Muck Bunnies (Miami)
Yes that's him, he has a Instagram account and there are plenty of picture of him on there.
Load More Replies...UUUUUUUM NOOOOOO. PLZ DONT RUIN BUNNYS FOR ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, didn't look like his trademark artwork. I wish more kids with a spray paint would make art like Tombobnyc- spray painting with a purpose.
This is NOT by TomBobnyc !!! This is by Jules Muck @muckrock. She is a Venice Beach artist. Proper credit needs to be given...
you are one very talented young man keep it up ever heard of New Zealand , lol
I need this person in my city asap !! Amazing work... I'm sure whoever sees this smiles to themselves in their daily lives filled with work and school and other things...
I've got to wonder how they knew of what to take pictures before he/she painted all over it... was there someone in NC just running around taking pictures of everything?
The pictures are from the artist's Instagram
Load More Replies...street art is fine but i am not sure colouring over electrical panels or junction boxes or fire hydrant is a good idea. Those are sometimes colour coded or tagged or etched with important informations.
Where do people keep reading that it says these are in New York? The title just says running loose in the streets. It never specified a place.
It says in the intro - Usually, Tom Bob operates in NYC, but sometimes he unleashes his creativity elsewhere as well. Those include Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), and other places all over the world.

these are all SUPER great! I would love to see states and cities higher artists to beautify the more mundane or straight up bad looking things in our cities.
All of these are not NYC. I have a feeling that some other artists' work may be mixed in here. I saw a couple that were clearly LA and 2 that looked to be (maybe) Tokyo...
