Tom Bob (previously here) refuses to simply live in the world. He's reshaping it. Creating street art on common objects in the urban landscape, he's perfectly personalizing his boring surroundings.
Whether it's turning a pipe into an anteater or transforming a fire hydrant into Princess Leia with smart execution of 3D art, there's nothing he can't do. Usually, Tom Bob graces NYC with his wall drawings, but sometimes he unleashes his graffiti art creativity elsewhere as well. Whomever the artist might be, should do this in all of the major cities in the country. For pay of course. These are entertaining as well as cool art. Get rid of city eyesores.
Yes. Get rid of city eyes sores, is one thing. Keith Haring's work was a beautiful thing to behold on the ugly black poster holders in the subways in the 1980s. He painted the entire hallway to his loft without permission (my girlfriend lived there after him). The building owner reemed him out because of this, but then she sold the painted sheetrock after he died. I'll never forget when a famous NYC graffiti artist painted the entire side wall of a famous/ old Ukrainian restaurant with a beach scene (without permission). He created an eyesore in an otherwise old school Polish and Ukrainian area (which 100 years earlier was Irish and Italian). This was the artist I mentioned who got caught in the 1990s and only did work on commission from then on. People will pay for beautiful murals. Just ask first.

I've got to wonder how they knew of what to take pictures before he/she painted all over it... was there someone in NC just running around taking pictures of everything?

street art is fine but i am not sure colouring over electrical panels or junction boxes or fire hydrant is a good idea. Those are sometimes colour coded or tagged or etched with important informations.

these are all SUPER great! I would love to see states and cities higher artists to beautify the more mundane or straight up bad looking things in our cities.
All of these are not NYC. I have a feeling that some other artists' work may be mixed in here. I saw a couple that were clearly LA and 2 that looked to be (maybe) Tokyo...

May I ask how did you ou get the the perfect beofre and after shots ? How did you know to photograph that spot and then paint it?

except for the fire hydrant, which shouldn't be messed with because sometimes the color schemes tell fire personnel things about pressure and flow rates, EXCEPTIONAL work!!!

Gonna be honest - I think they're all really tacky and I'd prefer the look of urban decay.
