I Create Drawings Dot By Dot With A Pen And It Takes Hundreds Of Hours

I draw in a technique called stippling. I draw pieces that take between 200 and 700 hours to complete. Dot by dot with a pen.

I mainly draw human figure as a way to endlessly explore light and shadow shifting on surface. No one’s body is the same.

I do something similar to this, but with larger markers or paintbrushes because I do not have your patience. Wow!

Outside of using a patience trying technique, this artist is gifted. She is probably able to do anything she endeavors to artistically. I love it.

Wow, you have the patience of an oak tree. I can't spend 240 hours on a college degree, let alone one single piece of art. How exactly do you know when you are done? 387,542 dots? Nope. I need exactly 3 more. NOW I'm done.

Never spent this much time on anything during my masters either haha. It's just something I know visually. It looks 'right'

Beautiful. I like and admire pointillism and similar. What kind/weight of paper do you use? What diameter of pen do you use?

Beautiful work, Julia. Would this still be called Pointillism? Or does that only refer to paint? By the way... In the last photo, you look a bit like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Thank you! Pointilism is still correct - I think the term stippling came along just to specify the medium rather than technique!
