Some thoughts and emotions are difficult enough to deal with, let alone put into words. Italian illustrator Chiara Cosentino, also known online as SonoStataChiara, gives them shape through bold colors, intentionally imperfect lines, and a distinctly dark sense of humor.

Her illustrations explore everything from anxiety, loneliness, and anger to desire, relationships, overthinking, and the frustrating task of trying to understand your own mind. Tangled thoughts, questionable decisions, emotional contradictions, and uncomfortable realizations all become material for Chiara, who approaches these subjects with a mix of honesty, irony, and absurdity. Despite the surreal characters and sarcastic phrases, her work captures moments when emotions seem impossible to untangle, while also raising issues women face in modern society. Chiara’s illustrations have appeared on Bored Panda several times before, and if you enjoyed our previous collection of her dark and often provocative takes on social and personal struggles, there’s plenty more of her distinctive humor to discover below.

I don't get angry. Because anger needs a target. I, instead, honed a fine sense of cynicism. Being cynical doesn't need a target, especially when there are SO SO MANY examples one could point at to justify this outlook.

I left wires behind a long time ago. Stupid things kept breaking at the bit where the solid plug meets the flimsy cable. Now all I need to remember is to charge the battery.

Personally, I would say "Not all men, but *nearly* always a man" because yes, there *are* always a couple of rare outlier cases where a woman attacks a man or another woman (and acknowledging that takes away a key argument they make against calling out the commonplaceness of bad behavior by men).

Completely incorrect translation. It should be more like "I don't understand why you try to make me feel wrong just because I'm different than you. I'm not changing anyway."

Again, mis-translated. It's "I should think less and do more (like sleeping)"

Another shoddy translation that results in a nonsensical image. It should be closer to "I don't ask when this agony will end, but rather, when it all started."

Proper translation: "How can I understand you when I don't even understand myself?"
