Women Are Creating She-Sheds, A Female Alternative To Man Caves (66 Pics)
Men need their space. But so, too, do women. But while some men prefer to dwell in their Man Caves, some woman prefers an alternative housing to relax. Such as the She-Shed.
Whereas Man Caves are usually a part of the house somehow, say hidden in the basement or the garage perhaps, She-Sheds are typically situated in the garden. There are no set rules for how this kind of garden shed should be constructed. Some make their shed plans considering reading areas while others use their She-Sheds as craft rooms or even miniature yoga studios.
Want a She-Shed but don't know where to begin with this DIY project? Then take a look at the shed design pictures below where you might just find some inspiration. That applies to you too, guys. Go on. Don't worry. We won't tell anyone.

This is my favorite, but I would add a few more items to give a more steampunk feel
Load More Replies...Here is my she sade :) I adore it, check it out <3 https://www.boredpanda.com/living-in-a-painting/
This is sonething like one of Oprah's she places....oh to b rich and famous
She sheds are stupid,,man caves were created to get away from the nagging wife and honey do drill Sargent.women don't need to get away and they just have to go in the bedroom and sit in a chair and read a book
She sheds are typically the whole house. The man is lucky to have a place to sit.
I don't understand the roof, would love to see more of how this was built. Very beautiful and warm.
I think it's meant to cover the area of the floor where the bed is situated.
Load More Replies...Nice. Women need their space. Now your husband can watch football in the living room while you have book club!
is there a portal where magic, beautiful objects come to this mundane, mediocre universe?
This is NOT a "She-shed" .. This is on AIRBNB as a Treehouse rental. You can STAY there, people!
It's like a tree fort! But more refined. Kept the 'rustic.' Like that

I think it looks like a perfect place for a break in or assault. Lovely idea, tho. Makes me sad I'm so jaded from spending most of my life in medium city ghettos. I would love a coffee/reading/workout room w a nice outdoor feel. I'm thinking distressed wood in green or cream, glass ceiling, wind chimes, a cute little bridge over a cute little pond, a rock garden and a fire pit so the kids can roast marshmallows.unrealistic where I live but I can fantasize, right?
Would make me nervous with so much green foliage close to house. If in my area there'd be snakes and critters inside!
Man Cave- Female Cave...just grow up will u, and plant a garden, reinvent the porch call it the patio=relaxation remember...wow
playful, childish, but still sophisticated. hey, i CAN talk like an architect!
I adore the Victorian exterior but would like to see some soft prints of a "shabby-chic" on the furniture and pillows.
Actually I think it as a lot of shabby chic in there, it doesn't need to be all pink or pastel does it?
Load More Replies...The outside absolutely inviting.... then you get inside and are scared to walk on white floor or sit down on white linen. I get the feeling of sterile inside.
This one is amazingly sophisticated! Just would add a few pops of color to suit my taste.
The grass on the roof and the gardens around is beautiful. Love to see the inside
This is so staged! No one who actually paints puts down a rug where they paint. Nor does anyone put Basics paint on a canvas. This is no one's studio, it's just a photo shoot. Spare me.
My friend Tamia Dorton would simply love this woman cave, so amazing.
Yes i would love aplace like this .ihave had time leaving have place to make tea or coffee yeah hours out there for sure,
I would put the bed under the sky light for optimum star gazing! I love it!
love the design of this one but inside I would love spa, sauna and a comfy bed ahh bliss
This ones really cool, might need a little furnishing on the inside. Maybe sanding too, the wood looks rough
Pretty small, but it also looks more affordable and easier to build than some of the more elaborate one. More realistic for people on a budget.
Thank you CesiBaca- we spent less than 200$ on everything so yep it's affordable!
Load More Replies...Mine would be filled with books, a comfy couch, and a wine fridge...... lol
Maybe because it has nothing to do with "femininity"...and it's only some kind of cute garden house for anyone to take good time?
Load More Replies...This is a great design for many locations - I would love to have a place like this - again could be adapted to a tiny house design that handicapped folks could use!!!
This looks more like that one room at Grandmas house where the super fancy antiques were and no one was allowed to sit on anything.
ALL these people must have plenty of money, you could not afford to build these in the UK unless you are a politician or have won the lottery, but if you had won the lottery why would you still live in the UK instead of living somewhere you are not getting ripped off every time you step outdoors.
Richard I lived in UK for 4 years and I can't imagine how you can't afford it? I worked in a factory and could easily save money... Plus, it's not THAT expensive, a little bit of imagination and some thinking and you build them really cheap.
Load More Replies...I love this! The floors are beautiful and I love the simple furniture and the corner stove. Yes, sheds like this can double as a secondary living space easily, and I'm sure are pretty expensive; that being said some folks will spend their money on projects like this versus taking trips or making other pricey purchases.
This is bigger than most 'studio's apt.' here in Hawaii, I could TOTALLY live in this.......when can I move in? heeeee
I know a young lady who lives in the UK with her mom, and they built one in their backyard as an artists studio. Nothing elaborate, but super cute. They are not wealthy.
Can't people just like the picture instead of putting a downer on it and using it as a platform for the latest rant about the government?! I'm sure there are posts, pages and groups for that sort of thing. In the meantime, get a grip and enjoy the picture, for heavens sake!
I totally agree! Give us a break from politics, for a change.
Load More Replies...Love the mosquito netting for that graceful texture of folds that pick up the dust ruffle flow.
This does it all for me from the fiesta colours, the fireplace, the bricks, the planter candelabra. When might I move in?
Love the printed pages and of course the bookshelves, carpet, trunk-table, the delicate netting the whole thing including the hammock!
Nothing about this is Art Deco. But I agree it's delightful.
Load More Replies...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! With me, it's all about the garden. it's so happy!
Grew up in a snowy place. Lovely she-pad, but I will just enjoy this as a photo!
So obviously this is a garden house you can buy somewhere. #10 is the exact same thing with different interior. Loving it though
That's because it's a shed that they've purchased from somewhere like Lowes or The Home Depot and decorated it to suit their needs. Great idea for people that don't have the money or building skills required to make one from scratch.
Load More Replies...This rock garden once surrounded an old maple until Super Storm Sandy knocked in down so I built a gazebo with a she cave fully completed with electric, sheetrock, paint, trim and flooring. It's her own personal space. 1-570bcbb1e39c2.jpg
And her initials to prove its her only - funny girl 028-570bcd...8c4a36.jpg
Please look at the picture again I commented with the rest of the story thanks
Load More Replies...It's a fancy greenhouse nit a she shed. I get that it's a thing a woman calls het slice of serenity... But c'mon. A greenhouse? My opinion
I think you're right. I remember loving their whole set up in their backyard.
Load More Replies...Kinda sucks these only look like its made for chic ladies. How about a tree house set with a small fridge, xbox/playstation, some books and comics, a bug furry rug with a pic of bob ross to bring in the good vibes.
Well, it's an open list, find one you like and submit it :)
Load More Replies...@Helen ... yep ! 1600 square feet of she shed and husband has his room also :>).
Load More Replies...They are really nice and look comfy but I can't stop thinking about spiders whom might also want to have these a their home. This is my ONLY reason for not to build one..... :)
My she-shed is the one with the tall mirror and fireplace, and it's COMPLETELY bug proofed. I caulked every crack and hole. (#54 interior, #60 exterior). So worth it! :)
Load More Replies...What makes me laugh is if this was a man cave post, no one would be making any fuss about gender equality!
I never understood the concept of man cave...must be something American thing. Not that inequality doesn't exist in Europe, I never heard of this here... Moreover, most of them are just garden houses or so in which I (as a men) would love to spend time...
Load More Replies...This is the most stereotypic post on Bored Panda ever! Of course every man lives in a cave and drink beer and every woman lives in cute pink little gazebo with flowers everywhere.... Most of them are just garden/tree/beach houses and have nothing to do with gender, come back to earth bored panda!!
I would seriously love and adore a she-shed! Having a she-shed would be such a relaxing, dreamy place for me to introvert and relax! ~AM
Lots of these seem to be more like guest houses or conservatories, not really hang out places for peace and isolation...
