Few days ago I saw a post from Adas Vasiliauskas on the subject of Lithuanian idioms, so I decided to make some of the unique Serbian one’s.
I hope you enjoy them, maybe add some proverbs or idioms for future creations.

The belief that the lynx gets angry when people mention him, so he might come and slaughter their cattle, quietly as only he knows how. That is why this predator is not talked about in the society of farmers, and when it is talked about, the voice is silenced.
Marš u peršun / March into parsley.
A more polite, almost a lady’s swear word, which makes it clear that the person to whom it is directed that he can go back to his father’s scrotum.

Pustio mozak na ispašu / Brain out to pasture.

Smeje se kao luda na brašno / She laughs like crazy at the flour.
An expression created on the basis of a old folk custom in which prayers were read to mentally ill people over flour, which was later used to make scones
Ubi ga promaja / The draft ki**ed him
Double meaning:
1. The greatest fear for Serbs. Serbs fear drafts more than enemies, cholera or politicians.
2. A way to get someone’s attention when they pace fast around the room like a headless fly.
