Saturday, on Earth Day, scientists across the globe took to the streets for the 'March For Science'. From software engineers to simply science supporters to even dogs - they all gathered together to celebrate science and the role it plays in our everyday day lives.

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22, and every year various events are held across the globe to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated way back in 1970, and now Earth Day events take place in more than 193 countries across the globe. Below, Bored Panda has put together a list of the best signs on display around the world. They're clever, amusing, and, most importantly, nerdy as ever! Keep on scrolling to check them out, feel free to add your own pics to the list, and don't forget to vote for your favorites.

    John L

Chicxulub was almost certainly a comet. They are bigger and come in at slightly over twice the speed as asteroids. Same with the Permian extinctions of 2.49 million years ago. Almost all mass extinctions have been caused by Impactors(comets). Global warming, cooling, etc, are results of these Impactors. Impactors are THE single most dangerous thing to the planet and our species. Everything else is chicken feed. That 'I know I'm Amazing' person above needs to study a lot more, because he completely misses that.

Many more reasons to vaccinate than not to. The emergence of these diseases — especially measles — is alarming, and mostly due to parents in the U.S. not vaccinating their kids. "If you are unvaccinated and you come in contact with measles, there's a 90% chance you will get . Mumps is back, so is whopping cough & chicken pox.

When we Americans refer to "Wrestling," we tend to mean the fake horrible freak-show (which I believe is actually someones stage name, anyway...). When we refer to Sumo, or Greco/Roman, or any other athletic wrestling style, we tend to use its proper name.

I don't think you're too dumb to understand this, it's just that you don't know what are the notations for : this deals with electromagnetism and those are the Maxwell equations. Physicians use then to study electric and magnetic fields, for example to "design" cables (choose the material, the diameter, etc...) but I can't really tell you what all those signs means because I'm french and we use different notations. And about the "god thing", it's just that Maxwell is kind of seen as a god since these equation are the fondation of our knowledge about electricity That's all !! (I know I write too much...)

I believe in God and Science (and I'm not against anyone who is atheist, just please don't be rude about my beliefs). In my mind, if there is a god then the laws of science are his/her laws. We don't have to agree about God, but I think we can agree that recognizing the truth in science is important 👍

Too bad no one can get funding to research a CURE to go along with the vaccination. Because there's no cure, any un-documented animal that bites people is destroyed to determine if it was infected or not.

Neither. For starters, Waterworld is entirely impossible. There's not enough water on this planet to cover that much land (especially as shown at the end of the film). Also: Star Trek is NOT science fiction. It is FANTASY. There's so little actual scientific plausibility (and even less fact) in Star Trek. The level of b******t technology, nonsense technobabble, and physical impossibility in that show is at levels equating to any fantasy program where incredible things are explained by magic. (Also, the Federation is kind of creepy)

Average people though microwave ovens were complete b******t until the technology became well-known. All technological 'boxes' are inherently black, until we understand the workings of what's inside. I bet people watching the original series in the late 60s thought the communicator was b******t, and I bet dollars-to-donuts that you have one in your pocket right now...

"Data" is the plural of "datum" which is "something given", in this case information. Anecdotes are data.

But that's the problem. So many people who vote in our elections do not realize just how much they don't believe in science. The more ignorant the populous, the more easily lead to vote for whoever the duopoly parties want voted into office.

What is fake about organic growing practices? Yes, capitalism and woo-thinkers have taken the term and run with it, and yes, it's very hard to grow without being impacted by the chemicals everyone else is dumping into the CLOSED SYSTEM of the Earth's environment. Also: GMO's have legitimate issues (such as monoculture, the greatly expanded use of pesticides they enable growers to put into the environment, and corporate politics). I don't take issue with the product itself; i take issues with what surrounds it and what it encourages, practically, economically, and politically.

Labeling a food 'organic' just means they can use 'alternative' pest control for crops etc. It doesn't benefit as much as ppl think it does
