This Boy Gets Suspended For Fighting Back Against The Girl Who Beat Him At School And People Are Furious
Sadly, bullying is still a prevalent problem in many schools. Many children suffer from endless teasing, name-calling and in some cases, even violence from their peers. According to the National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau of Justice, as many as 20% of students aged 12-18 experienced bullying in 2017. Children who are experiencing bullying are more likely to have negative issues related to mental and psychical health. They are more likely to experience depression and anxiety, have decreased academic achievement and health complaints. Despite the devastating effect bullying can have on kids, we often see examples of how adults and teachers fail to appropriately intervene and help the victims.
Recently, a video of a fight breaking out on school grounds went viral. In the shared video, a girl harassing a boy is clearly visible. The unidentified girl kept hitting and pushing the boy around, daring him to hit her back. The boy tried to retaliate and get away from her, but after she showed no signs of intending to leave him alone, the boy hits her back. This sparks violent behavior from the girl’s friend who is also hit by the boy. However, people who have watched the video noticed an unsettling detail – students and teachers only intervened when the boy started to fight back but did nothing when the boy was being harassed.
How everyone gon be mad at him??? If they didn’t want him to eventually hit back they should’ve stopped it sooner 🤨🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/M7Ymx1ETk0

The boy from the video joined the discussions by offering more details on how the situation unfolded. Later he wrote an update saying that he got suspended for the fight while the school is investigating the incident.

“So basically me and my friends talking and we hear her say that the school is dumb ass s**t for running a dance after the tragic we had this morning and my friends said that the school can we whatever they want and she didn’t like that and she said that “everyone that goes to that dance need to get shot and put into a grave” and me and my friends were like this b**ch crazy and she started yelling at my friend and I started to laugh and she said she will “smake that smile on my face” and I said ok whatever and she said “you think I’m playing games” I continued to say whatever and she was like ok after class you will see. I said ok and we got out of class and I walked out of the 2000 building and she said “hey pussy we’re are you going” I then turned around and looked at her and then she started yelling in my face and she started to get close to me and that’s when the video started. I walked backwards all the way to the vending machine and her friend dropped her bag like she was about To do something so I dropped my bad and then I continued to say back up I don’t wanna get mad and then she swung at me and then I said ” last time do not touch me” and then she started yelling in my face again as I’m still trying to get her the f**k away from me and then she swung again so then I slapped her with a open hand and then her friend grab and rips my t-shirt and I turn around and hit her, then she come back and then I hit the crazy b**ch again then a teacher split as up. What I did was f**ked up and I wish I could change it, but I didn’t want to turn my back to her and have both of them behind me so that’s why I did what I did. ”

“Ok so there is rumors going around and I’m going to explain to everyone. All 3 of us got into trouble, it is unknown how long I’m suspended. I do not know what happened to the other girls yet and I don’t know if I will ever know. But the school is still “investigating” the fight and they do have the full video. I do not know what is taking them so long to give me a date for how long I’m outa school but I will keep everyone updated.
And when the girl yells don’t touch me ever again, I was putting my hand in between us so she can’t get any closer to me, but she keep getting closer and my hand was touching her chest and I continued to tell her to back up.”
Here’s what people had to say about the incident

In situations where bullying escalates into physical altercations, the lines of justice can often become blurred. Such was the case with a recent viral video showcasing schoolyard violence, reminiscent of another story where a young student faced suspension after defending himself. In both instances, the institutions reacted similarly by issuing suspensions, which raises questions about the appropriateness of such disciplinary measures.
For more insight on how some view resistance against bullies, you might find this story of family support eye-opening.

What he did is called self defense. If a man was doing this to a woman, she would have been honored and congratulated. Double Standard!
The same thing happened to me when I was 12. Her and her friends actually trapped me on a corner even calling me a chicken for not fighting back. This happened for a few minutes, and once I got enough of it I hit her with a few punches and they all got super upset because "I souldn't hit a woman". Then all of them told the principal, who called me on her office. Luckly I'd always been a good student and she belived me and nothing happened.
The fact that nothing happened, is what happened. The bullies just keep bullying because nothing happens.
Load More Replies...I have told my 17 year old son all of his life to never hit a girl. I realized not too long ago that it's not like it was 20 or 30 years ago. I have since told him that if a girl aggressively attacks him after he has repeatedly asked her not to, then he has every right to knock the ever lovin' s**t out of her! And if he got suspended, boy howdy would there be hell to pay from the school and the girl's parents!!!! Mama don't play!
Schools are like prisons, if you show weakness or look different then you're going to get bullied
Load More Replies...Friend in middle school was pushed into a locker by another student (an a**hole that wanted to just bully the "loser" kid as they put it). My friend continued to say "I don't want to fight you" while picking up his dropped books, but the other student proceeded to hit him over and over again. Not once did my friend hit back. Both were suspended. Our educational institutions are part of the problem.
So is the legal system. If it weren't for the insane, but successful lawsuits brought against schools by the parents of instigators, bullies, etc., when schools punished them, schools would have some backbone in dealing with them. The problem was that some schools went way too far in punishing kids in many instances and the courts took notice and punished the schools. Unfortunately, the long-term consequence is that many school systems are terrified of potential lawsuits. So now we have the current rampant we-don't-take-sides approach that actually punishes victims and sends the wrong messages to everyone.
Load More Replies...Very similar incident happened at my high school. The parents of the girl told the sheriff's deputy they wanted to press charges against the boy. The deputy says "sure!". He pulls up the video, which clearly shows their daughter being aggressive pushing and shoving until the boy pushes her once, to get her away from him. "Of course, because your daughter initiated, laying her hands on the young man multiple times, in order to charge the boy, I will have to charge your daughter with assault." The parents of the girl decided not to pursue criminal charges.
She should be charged anyway, just to show a point.
Load More Replies...This is purely a case of self defense. Furthermore, I am tired of school staff blatantly walking by when a classic case of bullying is clearly happening and they do nothing!! There was a little girl here in Texas not too long ago who committed suicide due to the bullying she was experiencing and it had been reported to the school numerous times and the administration did nothing. Our children should be safe going to school and some of the educators/administrators are failing them. No child should be bullied to the point of suicide.
You have a right to defend yourself, even if the attacker is a woman. Take it to court.
