I Bought Tickets To Japan During The Cherry Blossom, But Ended Up In A Pink Fairy Tale Instead
My name is Kristina, I'm a photographer from Moscow. And one day, my friends and I just took tickets and got to Japan during the cherry blossom.
Japan itself is an amazing country, and during the pink madness it turns into a fairy tale. The time of cherry blossom in Japan is called Hanami.

Where in Kyoto please? - it's fairly massive :p (I'm living in Japan and keeping a list of places to visit :)).
It is certain the Japanese sweets shop "Rakusho", 516 washiochou, Higashiyama-ku. Hopefully you'll be there.

For real, my best memories are where we spent almost nothing, for dates, family outings, etc.

Must be trendy for Japanese women to have red hair right now? Looks pretty! (The hair and the trees!)

I was leaving there in mid-April this year and Mt Fuji still had quite a lot of snow as it was a longer winter and the cherries were two weeks later than usual with snow falling at the beginning of April. We walked through quite a bit of snow n the higher passes of the Nakasendo. It could be the way the light is shadowing the mountain top.

When my Dad was stationed in Japan, we lived in Nara for a while. And the one thing I remember most about the place were the deer. They were everywhere.
Fellow military brat! I was in Yokosuka for 3 years (76-79) when my dad was stationed there. Never went to Nara though.

When I was in Tokyo I saw many manhole covers with different decorative designs. I marvelled at the ingenuity of making something so ugly, interesting and beautiful.

Went to Japan at Spring 2013 - travelled mostly through the same places. Brought back 3000+ photos. Yep, the place is magical...
You should go to Japan. However, don't expect it to look like this. It's a great place to visit, but these photos are not representative of most places (and they've been tweaked to look more gorgeous). But, yes, go, with realistic expectations.
Load More Replies...I hope someday soon I can visit Japan too. The land that's been forever so far away is now so close, yet still so far. But if I keep earning money like I am, this tril might eventually become reality, ans not in a too distant future either.
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO TO JAPAN SOME TIME IN THEIR LIVES. IT IS SOOOO FFUUUNNN OVER THERE
During the time these pictures were taken it was probably reeeaally expensive and crowded, but it's the only time one can truly enjoy the beauty of the natural world. They also have gorgeous light shows and ice sculptures in winter.
If you go at the right times and to the right places it doesn't have to be crowded. Granted some places always are, but it's not impossible
