Rosario is my younger daughter. She is 2 years old and she is my rainbow baby.
A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss. In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.
The storm (pregnancy loss) has already happened and nothing can change that experience. Storm-clouds might still be overhead as the family continues to cope with the loss, but something colorful and bright has emerged from the darkness and misery.
Rosario was born after 4 pregnancy losses.
She was born on April 22, 2015 by induced natural labor, weighing 3,444 kg and 49 cm. She arrived to our lives to demonstrate us that every tear and every difficulty that we had to face was worthy. When I held her for the first time and our eyes met my heart was finally cured.
