Bored Panda wanted to learn more about this brilliant series, so we reached out to its creator. The cartoonist behind “Half Thought Comics” shared what inspired them to start making it: “It all started during a challenging period in my life when I had trouble expressing my thoughts and emotions. I couldn’t find the words to say how I was feeling, or even write it down. That’s when the idea of creating a comic (why comics? That's because I always found it easier to draw and express rather than to write) to capture my personal experiences and emotions that truly resonated. All of these feelings and thoughts came together to give life to the half thought comics.”

“I genuinely hope these comics can help others feel seen and remind them that they’re not alone (as it has helped me),” they added.

When asked where the ideas for new strips come from and how they develop them, the artist shared: “The comics are mainly inspired by my personal experiences with life so far. I keep a small note section on my phone where I write down these ideas, feelings, or moments from my real life as they come up. Sometimes, these ideas come from my surrounding things I find relatable or interesting.

Of course, memes and other content also play a significant role in sparking ideas and contributing to the overall inspiration.”

We were also eager to learn which artists from the world of comics influenced the creator of ‘Half Thought Comics.’ However, we discovered that comedy isn’t their primary source of inspiration: “I don’t draw inspiration from any one specific artist or comedian. Instead, I believe the platform is full of incredibly talented individuals, both big and small, who all contribute to the creative landscape. We influence each other in ways we might not even realize, and it’s from this collective space that I draw my own inspiration.”

Lastly, we asked the artist about their personal favorite comics they’ve created so far. Here’s what we found out: “My favorite comic so far is titled ‘Fun Circle.’ It’s about how I often say one thing and later I’m like ‘I'm not bothered’ or that I’m over it, but then later realize it’s still affecting me. It’s a recurring cycle that always seems to come back around and bite me in the end. This is something I'd have to work on personally, lol.”
