Do you often catch yourself fantasizing about the times when you didn't have to work, had no taxes, but always had freshly laundered clothes and sheets along with decent food on your table? Do you have a newly found respect for your parents? If you answered yes, then (sorry to break it to you), you are an adult. Being an adult is hard, but being a fresh one is the hardest, I'm sure a 20-something like me can relate to that. Not only is there suddenly no time to do practically anything you love, there's also the pressure of getting married, having children, buying a house while also maintaining a great career. No wonder so many of us are having the so called quarter life crisis. The expectations are too high and the stress is just too huge!
But there's always a silver lining. Bored Panda collected some of the most relatable comics abut the struggles of adulthood so you'd remember that we're all in this mess together!

This is what I'm going to show my biological dad when he tells me to 'GrOw Up'. I'll just say I'm practicing for adulthood!
Your source for comic #2 is incorrect. This is from Bluechair by Shen Comix (published to WEBTOON Jan. 10th, 2015). -Here's the correct source: https://www.webtoons.com/en/slice-of-life/bluechair/ep-59-busy-work/viewer?title_no=199&episode_no=61 What you've cited from Resenate on imgur is an unauthorized edit/repost.
Or you want to.work but there is no job or they only want 5 years workexperience of some like that
Yeah. Even these jobs/companies for newly graduated people requires at least 1 year experience.
Load More Replies...Although I'm sure there are other names given it, this is known in the scientific community as Paralysis by Analysis. (And, no, I'm NOT making this up.)
This is so true i literally teared up. AGGH toughen up you mushy thing!
And here we have a Dalek squishy alien with almost no feels on the inside, but heavy copper metal in the outside shell!! -DW- 😯🤗
i am 4 years late, but... the irony here is that i am eating butterscotch ice cream....and reading this...
Me when I ate 3 scoops of ice cream and then getting another 3 scoops from the fridge
The last one is also New Year's in your 40's, 50's, and 60's. Then apparently when you retire, you sleep anytime & are usually awake anyway!
But school is there, it's that "sleep" at teen :'D
Load More Replies...Yes but at the same time... it looks extremely mundane
Load More Replies...Honestly for teens, it's much more studying than sleep... my classmates and I only get around 3-6 hours of sleep every night (at least in my case and most students at my high school).
Teen...In my opinion it's like - Sleep,Computer,TV,computer,tv,sleep
Luckely in our family we don't do adult and kids tables. And I like that because
This is true... or if no kids are around, i find the pet to hang out with. Wait, that sounded really creepy.
LMBO--I didn't go there until YOU did!! ;D
Load More Replies...Same thing applies to being a kid sometimes, though I imagine it's not near as bad as being an adult
As an 'adulting' author myself, I always stop to look at these and find them amusing. However, they can also make my job a little harder because people laugh and think this is how it is so this is how it has to stay. Aging and adulting can be difficult but I think sometimes stuff like this can demonize aging and perpetuate our youth-centred culture. I'm happy to get older and I personally found being in my twenties a lot more tedious! {If you're into it, check me at beingthirties.com} ;)

Brain: You know what we haven't thought about in a while? Me: What? Brain: Demons! Me: Why brain why Me: *doesn't sleep all night*
Asking an 18 year old (which is still a child in my opinion) what they want to do for the rest of their life is soooo futile.
I totally agree. Right now I'm 21 and still have no clue on what I want to do for a career. If I want to do something that makes me happy people are like "That doesn't make a lot of money. Are you sure you want to do that?" or when I pick a career that does make a lot of money "That is a lot of schooling. Are you going to be able to pay all those student loans?". It's an ongoing battle of trying to find what I like and what I am willing to do with my life and people putting pressure on me does not help the situation. So I agree. When you're 18 or even 21, you are discovering yourself still and shouldn't have the pressure to pick a career.
Load More Replies...Why do we feel the need to make our children grow up so soon? I cried when my daughter became an adult.
I knitted all night getting drunk in the couch all by my self, watching the fireworks through from the window. Wouldn't do it any other way
Load More Replies...Actually I think you get pickier as you get older. You have a better idea of what works and what you aren't willing to put up with.
It depends on your self-esteem. Some women start thinking they will die alone if they don't marry someone, anyone, and they rush into it
Load More Replies...Exactly the last one... hahahahha... wonder if everybody feel it too.. lol...i hate clowns most..
The last one is so true (also the sranger one, the crippling socill anxiety wouls be more fit for people in middle and high school
Anyone else ever notice how screwy voting up or down on these can be? I can hit like and it say 14 or dislike and it say 10.
Lucky you. I sometimes even have 'test fail ' dreams when I realy learn it good. That is so mean of my head
Load More Replies...Graduated college in 1999. I STILL have dreams the office calls and says I failed after all and they're taking back my diploma.
I sometimes have dreams of being in high school, and my schedule is always in my locker... aaaand I never know the combination, lol.
I don't dream of tests, but I do dream of being in plays and realising I haven't learned the lines, and I'm about to go on stage, so I guess that's my version of it
OHMYGOD that's such a good idea! Although pulling it out of your bag at a cashier seems like a funny picture.
Yeah, someone I know keeps telling me I’m to old for Pixar and Halloween. Guess what? I’m not even a teen
Load More Replies...So I guess that's where the expression "killing two birds with one stone" comes from...

Always be yourself. Unless you can be a kitty. Then always be a kitty.
calvin and hobbes has a lot of hilarious comics about the truth of adulthood
I still kinda hope they'll do the chores when they get back home, or eventually, the day after...
Yeah. Clean clothes can be nice. After a good roll down a hill
Load More Replies...This is one of those rare gems I wish I could like so many more times than just once. This speaks to me.
"Youth cannot know how age thinks and feels; but old men are guilty if they forget what it was to be young" - Albus Dumbledore
I'm pretty sure there was something up the list that involved ice cream that was like this...
Adulthood: When you can indulge in your childhood desires but having the knowledge that you will die a slow and unconformable death from the health risks
Or you could appreciate the things in life: family, friends, music, movies, reading... whatever makes you happy
Y'all are out here making phone calls and I can barely send a Snapchat message
Load More Replies...So that's why my dentist plans for next year keep getting cancelled.
Well I'm pretty sure pear, banana, and grape are already taken, and you would run into copyright issues with Apple, so the only ones left are pineapple, orange and... wait... isn't cherry taken?
Load More Replies...That's exactly what's happening to me right now. Got 3 games I wanna play (or more), have time for none. The irony is, I'm working at a game company, and playing video games is actually part of my job. The assigned games, though. Which are fun and addictive too, but they're not Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
I eventually still didn't lose hope. As soon as I grasp up with the routine, I'll feel ready to keep up with my gamer life and other hobbies.
Load More Replies...You're an adult, maybe once work slows down, another game, other game, new game, super brother bros., haven't got around to it yet, game I played once.
They will have to pay for copyright that is an apple computer
I couldn't decide throughout the comic whether the doctor was a man or a woman.
Just eat ramen and take cheap multivitamin by the tripe. There. You'll stay healthy.
"Gas is so expensive" coming from the nation who has it by far the cheapest in the world. Puhleeeease... Fsck you, Murica.
Some of these are so depressing and so true and I'm feeling better just knowing you all feel the same :(
It's natural. Try some Street Sweeper Simulator or Viscera Cleanup Detail if real life cleaning is too much.
I compulsively have to get to the end of every list I start looking at. It's.... inconvenient.
Load More Replies...There's some people who focus on buying a house... I read every single "house" in this collection as horse, and I thought "RICH PRICKS!!! DAMN YOU!!!"
Adulthood is like a bear trap. You're innocently walking around without a clue- and poof, you're pulled into a scenario that you don't want to exist in, and you kinda wanna die, but your morals keep you alive until a hunter comes along and kills you.
so adults DON'T have life figured out. I wonder if I will by the time I'm dead.
Whoever relates to these cartoons has a poor outlook on life, I had some hard years but have had a good time most of the way through. At 40 I'm fitter, faster and stronger than ever doing pretty much what I want when I want. Don't waste money and there will usually be enough in the kitty to do most things within reason which is why I don't work anywhere near as hard as in my 20's. I earn less but have a much better easier job and don't need the money, plus more time to do what I want. Zero debts, no kids and only occasional women when I can be bothered. Time to think about and study subjects such as whether NASA really went to the moon or if the earth is flat. Much better to be an adult than a kid who is told what to do and how to think.
This is soooo true. 😪 Adulthood is scary af. 😱 It's filled with responsibilities and all sorts of things to worry about, which causes you to stress over every little things in your life. 😪 I want to be a kid again sooo bad. 😥😂
