Jago Jacopo Cardillo, 30, is an incredible self-taught sculptor from Italy who transforms marble and stone into intricate lifelike pieces and has won over thousands of people due to his talent.
Since he was a child, Jacopo was fascinated with one of the greats, Michelangelo, and dreamed of becoming a modern-day equivalent of the sculptor. And he’s for sure going in the right direction.
His sculptures are extremely detailed and precise, the artist manages to create pieces that look not only realistic in shapes, bus also light and flowy.

This artist is talented. He does skin so well. Amazing
yeah. Michelangelo did shit that was idealized, pretty much the epitome of his time. This stuff is WAY too naturalistic to compare. As far as I'm concerned, this stuff is much more interesting.
You obviously are not that familiar with Michelangelo's work. Please tell me that's why you make such a ludicrous comment.
Google Images is not that difficult to navigate.
I would not like to deny the talent of this Artist, but as an art historian I just can't agree with You about Michaelangelo' s art - those works are really nice and show that this guy has some talent, but the secret of the Buonarotti' s genius depends on something quite different than just mimesis. He just can't compare with Buonarotti (yet). Sorry.
I agree. Mike's stuff is achingly beautiful. Although this artist's work is very detailed and he clearly has great talent, to me his sculptures seem lifeless and "plasticky".
Michaelangelo studied anatomy.......a lot. This guy............not so much.
Michelangelo didn't use anything but the chisel, there wasn't even a photo, there wasn't a zbrush... s**t is what you have to have in your head to compare a unique style like Michelangelo's with something that you value merely in reality
The time between these 2 dictates you can’t compare. Would you compare C ronaldo and pele ? No because of sports science and nutrition etc. These 2 are worlds apart, but I will end on I’m sure there is many amazing people out there right now that are equally as good as Jago. Can you say the same for Michelangelo is his day ? Prob only G L Bernini came close long after.
impressive technique. But... reallity is... nowadays, there are tons of naturalistic, hyperealistic artists and Michelangelo was the only one at his time with that amount of talent. In XXI century there are no "stars" we are too many on the world. Besides, Michelangelo was not a great artist because he made marutralistic sculpture, but because of what was said with the technique...
