If You’re Tired Of All The Recent Negative News, These 46 Wholesome Pics Will Restore Your Faith In America
Former United States President John F. Kennedy once said, “Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one's own beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.” Since the election the majority of U.S citizens feel that race relations have gotten worse. These poor race relations coincide with a record high in political divides, reaffirming the popular phrase that the U.S is now a nation divided.
It can all seem overwhelming at times, so stop and take a minute. Take a break from the bad news on your social media feeds, the political pundits, and hateful rhetoric. Bored Panda wants you to remember all the good things that still happen day to day and that we can all do a small part in bringing more tolerance. A Couple Of Months Ago, An Elderly Lady Asked Me To Walk Her Home Because She Was Scared She Was Going To Slip On The Ice. We've Become Friends And Now I Walk Her Home Almost Everyday
Old lady?! I see a gorgeous fairy, and I know I'm right because she's wearing fairy boots!
Oh my, she's so minute! I want to carry her around in my pocket. That man's a dude. Good for him! :-)
This makes me cry. I would cry if she asked me, of course I would walk her home too. I want to be this cute when I get old. <3

I know! Here I am having trouble explaining to my boyfriends' son why someone in his class is mean to him. I can't imagine explaining what to do when you hear gun shots. If 99% of America doesn't have extreme anxiety in 20 years, I'll actually be surprised...

This is America: where school kids end up in a hospital (or worse: the morgue) instead of college because school shootings happen. Dear America, you have a beautiful country, but this kid should not have been in a hospital bed. Please, please solve your youth’s issues with shooting their schoolmates.
I'm so saddened that you had to be put in to this situation, Anthony. God Bless You for being such a hero. Your mother raised a great young man. Prayers for healing.

I surely wish there was a group of volunteers where I am...being in a fixed income and having a very strict HOA homeowners association harassing me to cut the grass is a bummer. $35/week is so hard for me and others in Houston ...

She Took Me In 15 Years Ago And No One Makes Me As Happy. We Had The Best Xmas. I Love My Grandma So Much
I grew up in a kids home (orphanage) after losing my parents. She was my key worker there as well as my carer. When I was too old to live there and had to move out.
She was retiring at the time after 40 years as a carer and said that she couldn't stand to lose me, which kinda works out great because I love her and I couldn't stand to lose her either.
We belittle social work in our society by paying them very little. So it's all heart sometimes. And heartbreaking.
Kids Do What They Feel. These Two Strangers Just Hugged In A Fast Food Restaurant
I often wish it was as easy to make friends as an adult as it was when you were a kid, ‘you like fries? I like fries too!!!” Hugging ensues.
No one is born a racist. That is a learned trait (defect?). Hopefully one that these two will never learn to be.
Exactly. Xenophobia is an instinct, but humans don't need to be ruled by it and children demonstrate, constantly, by not being racist (until the parents teach it), just how learned racism really is.

Man In Red Needed Help With Son's Math Homework And Got It From A Stranger On The Subway
So today on my way from work the guy in the red sat down opened up his folder and started reading. A few stops later the guy next to him sat down and asked him what he's studying: "You look a little confused maybe I can help?". He says his son failed a math test: "They're learning fractions so I'm just teaching myself this over again so I can help him I'm 42 & don't know any of this so I'm re teaching myself." The guy in the black informed him he use to be a math teacher so he asked the guy to quiz him and everything he got wrong or was confused about he broke it down and corrected him. By the end of my train ride the guy in the red had a better understanding. He can bring home a new method and teach his child. I really love seeing things like this especially in New York.
Nice to see someone helping a stranger but also to see this dad so invested in his child's education. <3

More staff in eateries like this should be trained in how to do these little things that can mean so much
I think everyone should be trained in things like this or at least exposed to it. You never know if/when a parent, spouse, or even child will become disabled and need such assistance and it's stressful when you've never done anything similar.

Awesome Professor
A girl in my geography class had to bring her newborn to class today. The baby started crying in the middle of our quiz. When she took him out to hold him, my professor insisted that he wouldn't mind feeding the baby and rocking his car seat until she was done. This is my so so awesome, sweet professor, on his knees.
Was this really an act of kindness, per se? I bet the professor was absolutely thrilled to have the chance. If you like babies, this would be a no brainer :-)
It can still be kindness, even if you do it for your "own gain". :-)

I do not personally know you, but I am so proud of you. You have accomplished so much. Losing 200 lbs. is no easy task. And then taking on a 10k. You are one super-determined woman. Even if you didn't come in first, even if you came in last; you deserve a trophy, a letter of congratulations. Maybe even a FREE vacation and a FREE membership to a gym/workout program of your choice; or Yoga Classes, Zumba Classes, etc., dancing is a great exercise. And you should also get a FREE Nutritionist. If it wasn't for the fact that I live below the poverty line, I would love to help you do all of those things. Because you already have the will to do it, you've already shown that you are capable, you deserve some help to get you the rest of the way there. Maybe we can find someone who can help with celebrating your accomplishments. And that policeman is a great guy for encouraging you and for understanding that sometimes "to protect and serve" means more than just arresting people. Good Man!!

Load More Replies...In my country (Finland) there is a good system for the prisoners so they can usually learn a new job when they are in a prison or do some actual work when in prison. Also the social workers usually help them some months after they get out of a prison, for example if they have lost their home they can help the prisoner to find a new home and of they have a drug addiction or alcohol problem the social workers will also help them. That has usually prevented the ex-prisoners doing more crimes.
If a person has "served his/her time" they are once again potential contributing members of society. Let's give 'em that chance.
What we need next is more companies willing to give a guy a second chance. It's really hard to find a decent job with a record.

Faith In Humanity Restored
when i see these kind of story i'm dying to be on the side not of the one who receive, but on the side of the one who give...
Then just do it. Some are small gifts, others may be large. I've often filled up gas tanks at gas stations rather then giving cash. And will buy them food and a drink. They may be trying to scam me, but everyone needs to eat and, most likely, they don't have any money to buy gas. Another time I was in the check-out at Walmart. The guy in front of me was buying his dog some chicken jerky treats. When he realized how expensive they were, he decided not to buy them. I told him I'd buy them for him. Had him wait until I checked out and he got to take chicken jerky home to his fuzzy kids. Stuff like this pops up when you least expect it. And it is one of the BEST feelings in the world to help another.

So KJorn, it's the little things that matter!!

Someone Falls Asleep On His Shoulder; Lets Him Sleep 12 More Stops Claiming, "We've All Had Long Days"
Had a young lady falling asleep on my shoulder in the train too once. I thought it was so cute, I wanted to kiss her head, but of course I didn't even try because that would be awkward. ♥ She woke up before my stop.
It'd have been a very tender gesture. It's fault of fear if we put fences between ourselves and others.
Load More Replies...That is kindness as small as the gesture seems. I mean, most of us really feel awkward when our personal space is entered by someone, especially when there is so little of it like in a subway.
Once when I traveled from Bergen by bus some migrants arrived on the bus, that was the year so many fled to Norway, who were going the same way as me. One that I would guess was 7-8 years old sat down with me while the big brother, little sister and grandparents on the other side. They looked so tired and tired and just 5 minutes after we drove from the station I felt something press on my arm. The poor boy fell asleep and slept heavily. The big brother was ready to wake him, but I indicated that this was all right. Slept for over an hour. After he woke up I got some snacks as a thanks. Really hope it's going well with them today.
I was on a non stop from Honolulu to New York between to Samoan's. Well all got along really well. Eventually I nodded off and woke up later. On both sides of me on my shoulders were these two guys I had never met before. The attendant saw I was away and asked he should wake them up. I said no, we're all brothers inside.
Something about the sleeping man's hands being folded looks like he is at peace having a shoulder to rest on.
I probably would've woken him up and ask what stop he was going to leave at so he doesn't miss it
This Man Reads Everyday At Lunch To A Man Who Cannot
How sweet. And how sad at the same time, that so many people in this day and age still have a hard time reading or cannot at all. It's one of the greatest gifts and tools you can receive to grow in life.

At A Waffle House In La Marque, Texas, This Elderly Man Told The Waitress That His Hands Weren’t Working Too Good. He Was Also On Oxygen And Struggling To Breathe. Without Hesitation, She Took His Plate And Began Cutting His Ham
People working in food places, such as her, and the waiters, are not obligated to help people like this. And yet, it's not completely a non-work-related thing, since it's kinda part of the service. That's why I keep saying these people need a salary rise. Okay, I'll stop now.
While true that they need a salary rise I would prefer the start of that would be through a law that explicitly makes tips not count towards their salary, meaning they at least get minimum wage + tips instead of tips being part of what gets them to minimum wage levels.

So My Dads Tire Blew Up On The Freeway And This Dude, With A Confederate Flag Tattoo, Wearing A Confederate Flag T-Shirt, With Confederate Flag Car Stickers, Stopped And Changed Our Tire. My Mind Is Blown, Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
Here in southern Ohio folks wear the Confederate flag in order to DECLARE that they are racist (and frequently profess other bigotries as well). They will say it's to show pride in their Southern heritage, then spew racist viewpoints, then reassert that said racism is part of their Southern heritage. The Confederate flag might have had non-racist usage in some instances in the past, but if you're seeing it north of the Mason-Dixon Line today, it's frequently used as a declaration of hatred.
I live in SC. You see these a lot down here (obviously) but more often than not it’s just viewed as a “southern thing” like sweet tea and grits. I feel that down here the people who wear and sport the confederate flag have largely serrated it from its origin. It doesn’t excuse the ignorance but I agree that anyone above the Mason-Dixon Line is sporting it as a statement.

We were walking down to a restaurant and a woman was trying to push her husband up the hill from a doctor's office to their car (NO idea how she got him DOWN the hill in one piece).....my friend took over for her and got her husband safely to their car and in. A couple of months later that friend was diagnosed with a heart attack and an aortic aneurysm (he's fine)....I still think about just how lucky we were HE didn't drop dead!!
Another beautiful picture of someone being so kind and thoughtful
Police Officer Keeping A Man Company At A Bus Stop
In my town, the bus drivers are very considerate and patient with passengers who are in wheelchairs. Some of the other passengers, not so much.
Meant that other passengers get impatient and can be rude.

Just Two Guys Playing Chess In Union Square This Morning
I do believe that there are many police doing good deeds, we just don't see it happening !!!
For every 1000 good deeds NOT televised, the most wretched of them does, and makes them all bad apples. It's sad. Not all cops are racist, just as not all blacks are criminals. But it seems that nobody cares anymore. People want a label, and a cause to follow.
Load More Replies...People frequently forget a shield is only as good as the person wielding it. If the community properly supports their shields keeps them in good repair and gives the the proper needed and appropriate care they will be well protected by sturdy shields. A community that doesn't care gets a rusty s****y weak trashcan lid to defend themselves with.
Volunteers Helping Flood Victims Evacuate In Houston
I live in TX. The public response was so emotional. Brothers helping brothers. We were overrun with donations to deliver. Locals using their own personal trucks and trailers with signs “we’re coming Harvey” brought me to tears.
I live near Vancouver, BC, Canada. I was part of a team (people from literally AROUND the globe) who manned social media and matched cries for help to rescuers. I still have some of the texts on my phone - it reminds me that you never know what can happen or who may be there to help.

I was there. Everyone was helping everyone and anyone. Made my heart explode
"Hey Sir, Can You Take A Pic Of My Waves For The Gram?"
LOL Young man keeping in touch with his Grandma just as great as the guy taking the pic!
This Is America
You know most of these pictures show different races helping each other and I'm wondering then how in the hell do we still have a racism problem in this country? It's 2018. These pics show how we are supposed to be with one another.
the media as a whole wants a divisive society, helps ratings and in turn sells advertising slots to companies...

This is the last picture, and I am sitting here with happy tears and also sad ones because seeing the good in humanity is something I never want to end. Bravo, good people!!!
I concur with Max L....United we all stand & embrace in God's love 💘
No One Is Born A Racist
Awwww...true no one is born a racist as it is always learned in the home most of the time. You appreciate the good that others do no matter what color. A simple touch means a lot.
Amen. Racism is a learned behavior. Let's not be teaching it to our children.
That's right......it is taught.....children are beautiful and honest!
These make me so happy. There is a lot of hate in this world, and sometimes I forget to look at anything but the hate. It's so prominent everywhere I go, this is a wonderful change of pace. Thank you to whoever posted these.
People need to see these especially today with all that is happening out there with the shootings. June 2020 There is still a lot of good people out there. Cannot lose our faith in humanity.

This happens all across the world, not only in America :) Good hearts are everywhere and they resotre faith in humanity.
I understand what you are saying but I think those of us in America needed a little reminder of kindness and empathy
Load More Replies...I don't think that was what was implied, just that with all the bad press America gets with everyone hating each other that there is another side.

Solid proof that people CAN make a change! As long as we work together and help each other.
They don't forget. They don't care. media wants ratings/views. they want the most dramatic spectacular stuff. And that doesn't always equal things that are most important or have the most impact.
