Silvia is a talented young art director and illustrator from Milan, who decided to explore the day-by-day paradoxes during the Italian quarantine with a series of minimal and funny drawings.

“Ever since I was a child, I always chose to laugh about weird, uncomfortable, or even sad situations. I like making fun of myself and I was hoping that by sharing my thoughts I would find people that could relate to my view of the world so that we could try and navigate these incredibly strange times together,” says Silvia.

I went through my calendar and wrote 'DOOM' 'MORE DOOM' 'HAHA STILL DOOM' all over it. Now I smile when I look at it instead of getting vaguely anxious.

First year ever I buy myself a planner. All I have written in it are birthdays. Now I can't even remember where it is. Perfect face palm moment I'd say

I got a stunning leather one so pretty baby blue, got a black one for my bestie, haven't been able to see her to give her hers, and mine is sitting beside me unopened....still pretty though and at least it has the option to buy more years - I am typing this and knowing full well that it is little to do with 2020 and more to do with I love stationary and planners and to do list pads etc and never use them lol

You are my spirit aminal. I, too, needlessly buy stationary, planners, stickers, etc. and never use them.

They aren't leap years, but 2025 and 2031 both start on a Wednesday. So you could sort of use your planner by crossing out the year. Or keep it until the year 2048, which both starts on a Wednesday *and* is a leap year!

Hahaha me too. Me too. I’m making them goals, gratitude, and lessons I’ve learned. Oh, I have multiple different styles of journals and planners, so that I’m able to use it from year to year.

I feel the same way, omg. I was just looking at mine yesterday and was like "Welp. I suppose this is useless now."

I love mine! After my breakdown and terrible depression and stress as a trigger I can't process, I use it to keep track of daily goals. Like cleaning, dishes, laundry, eating healthy, taking supplements most of all exercise. I write down things that need to be improved. I've been doing it for a year now and can see all the progress I've made. I'm 14 months sober and lost 65lbs ❤ I'm healthy and so is my environment. My planner really helps me.

I bought a blank planner that you write the dates in yourself... I suppose I could have leap-frogged over most of this year but, then again, it does make for a brilliant jotter.

Me I got it for my birthday last year in January and I hardly ever use it and it's just too depressing cause I got nothing going on :(

Exactly! My mom gave me a 2020 planner for my birthday (early on in the year) and I've been stuck at home since the beginning of March. I live in Spain. The last time I actually left home to go somewhere apart from the supermarket was March 5, and the last time I met with friends was March 7. *sigh*

Try reading. Sometimes I read until the sun comes up because the book is so good. I really enjoy leaving reality behind and living in someone else's shoes for a while.

“I think it’s a pretty lazy style - hahah - the truth is that I really want the idea behind the post to prevail, not so much the drawing, so I try to keep the overall illustration at a minimum. I’m a huge fan of the New Yorker style of comics, that’s where I mainly draw inspiration from, but also memes and general internet culture” says Silvia about her drawing style.

“Probably nothing, I live in the city so I miss nature a lot these days. Honestly though, I’m kinda worried that what’s coming next it’s going to be even weirder that it was during lockdown. Oh well, more weird comics am I right?” says artist when asked what she will miss about this quarantine.
