Half A Dog, Twice The Love: Rescued Puppy Born With 2 Legs Needs Your Help

Sadly, it's the unnatural environment of purebred breeding that has caused this. Inbreeding and breeding for these characteristics of shorter, stubbier legs and wrinkled faces. This species didn't look like this a century and a half ago. The problem might be rooted generations back.

I mean, that's what happens when you push nature to create "pure breeds". Even if he had his legs, dogs like English and French bulldogs have breathing issues, problems with their hips, their legs, their organs. The whole obsession with perfect looking bulldogs (among others) is actually far worse in the global picture than this cutie's ordeal.

I can't stop thinking about that episode in American Dad where Stan tries to save ''Kisses''. At a point where Kisses is part machine and Francine wants to put the dog out of it's misery Stan yell ''Who are you to play God!'' With the reference that she isn't allowed to choose what lives and what dies. To save that dog above, is indeed to play God. In my experience with rabbits, I often encounter many people wishing to save every last one of the newborn - but if the baby can't make it, and it hasn't something to do with the mother - then we must respect the laws of nature where it still holds a bit of power. All men must die, it isn't bad nor is it good, it just is.

Excess pressure on Internal organs, probably means more pain then we can even imagine. when I was putting my dog of 12 years old down, I knew that when I picked her up she would flail, gasp, she had always had breathing problems she was a Brussels Griffon, when he gave her the last shot he said her rib cage was deformed as well as many other issues. Overbreeding dogs will cause excessive issue. I feel badly she suffered, and put her at ease as soon as it was apparent she had a brain tumor on top of everything else. How long will they make this dog struggle and suffer. It is not just about the limbs it is about the pressure on internal organs too. I cannot imagine the pain he feels. He is cute, He is in pain, very sad.

I know... a lot of disabled animals have great lives...... But sadly from a behaviourist stand point I really don't think that's going to happen for this guy. The myriad of genetic abnormalities and the problems these present make it unlikely he will live a long life or a happy one. At this point... Just put him down after the few good months he's had. It's always quality over quantity of life.

Put the poor thing to sleep gently and quietly. He is never going to enjoy a normal doggy life.

what is the matter with people. Put this poor dog down. Don't make it live a horrible life just so you can feel better. Send your money to an orphanage, or to a 3rd world country. There are children dieing, starving to death: Africa, Syria, Appalachia, get some perspective for God-sake.

Why don't the owners do the humane thing and euthanize him. This poor little guy can't tell them how miserable he is.

I am frankly appalled at the number of commenters who think that poor little Bonsai should've been put down. What is wrong with all of you. Would you say the same if it was a human child born with mangled legs and dysfunctional arms? How would you suggest we kill that child - lethal injection perhaps - like we use on serial killers? **************** The pup WANTS to live, and frankly, he has no idea he's "disabled"... he' just working with what he does have instead of feeling sorry for himself for what's missing. ******* The people caring for him know that he still may not make it, but they are willing to give him the best chance possible to be happy for as long as he can. There is NOTHING wrong with that!!

This is why people should stop breeding. This poor baby shouldn't even exist in the first place. Breeders do cruel things to the natural order and now this beautiful little soul has to suffer greatly because his breeders wanted to make money. It's one of many things that clearly shows humans have lost the way. They don't see the whole picture or collective, it doesn't matter who they hurt, as long as they get their money. It truly makes me so sad that it makes me sick. What the f**k is wrong with people who do and support this?

I don't believe that 'natural selection' is or even should be the main guideline for dogbreeding. We'd have hardly any of the races of dogs that we so adore. However, this story is just awfull! You can put this poor fellow on a cheerful blankets and keep chirping to it in cutesy tones as long as you want, the sight of it struggling just makes me cringe and I actually wonder if the owners have some version of Munchhausen syndrome? Any decent breeder would have put that lil pup down the moment it was born and I really, really do hope that neither parent will ever be allowed to breed again. I have a dog and it's the apple of my eye. I know how much you can love them, how cute puppies can be. I hope that in the future I will have the strength to let my dog go before it comes anywhere near this kind of suffering.

That puppy is the cutest thing I have ever see! I think they are doing the right thing by keeping him. Just because he has a few extra legs doesn't me he can't live a good honest puppy life . #GOD-BLESS-YOU-PUPPY

All the comments saying it's selfish and that the pup should be put down. Pretty sure the pup would say F**K YOU, I would like to live. You gonna put a person down for not having legs? No? Why? He/she can't enjoy so many aspects of life, but i think he/she would find a way, no? The idea that animals are that far below humans is pretty sick, that's just my opinion though. Feel free to s**t on it, cause I'm gonna write yours on a piece of toilet paper after I read it, unless it's positive, then yay for you being an actual human being! ; P
