Somebody On Twitter Asked For Positive Stories About Celebrities And It Will Restore Your Faith In Hollywood
Celebrities are always in the news, but these days it seems like they're in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Following a flood of sexual assault allegations against Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, hundreds of brave women have spoken out against several high profile members of the film industry including directors, producers, actors and comedians. But as this uplifting list of tweets proves, not all celebrities are bad. In fact, some are downright awesome.
People were asked by a Twitter user called @bakkooonn to share positive personal encounters they've had with famous people, and the internet was quick to respond with heartwarming stories about everybody from Freddy Mercury and Robin Williams to Bruce Springsteen and Danny DeVito. Don't forget to vote for your favorite!

It's nice to hear about someone who wants to do something nice and doesn't feel the need to brag about it on social media. It still happens whether you report it or not. Humility is really hard to come by these days. God Bless Chris Martin!
Once Coldplay was invited on a french TV show, and the funny guy on the show was making his usual fun session, about him being the great big star and them being some underground newbies in the music industry, and Chris Martin asked him if he wanted to do their first part at the concert they were giving that same night in Paris. The guy (Mathieu Madenian) was stunned, he thought he was being made fun of, but no, the invitation was real ! And so he did their first part they night :-)
I actually thought this guy was a pretentious a*****e who makes boring music but i'm glad to say this has changed my opinion of the man (still think Coldplay are terrible).
Jack Palance was totally different from the movie villains he portrayed. He was a sweet guy who may have been the inspiration for Don Blanding s 'Movie Villain'
Paul Newman, whose food products give 100% to charity. -and his thin crust pizzas are the best!
Hidalgo was one of my favourite movies, was just telling my son about it yesterday.
Load More Replies...Viggo also slept in the stables with his horse to bond with it. Amazing actor <3
I also heard that he demanded the production/security team let the distraught owner of a horse being used during the film onto set after her horse had sadly died during filming
That man is a LEGEND. I just hope the stunt rider can afford to keep the horse as they are really expensive to keep. Having to have them re shod every 6-8 weeks is expensive enough and that's just a part of it.
Johnny Depp bought the one he rode in Sleepy Hollow just to let him retire and rest.
She was one of a kind. I recently read about the time a producer sexually assaulted a friend of hers and Fisher sent him a box with a cow's tongue in it! and a note that said "if you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box". Ha! Love her. RIP Carrie Fisher.
Yeah she was a brilliant woman, always made me laugh when i saw her in interviews.
I met Carrie just a few months before her untimely passing. She was signing autographs at Star Wars Celebration in London. We were maybe 40 people in line, waiting for about an hour before she came. She walked in with a huge bodyguard who had these awesome braids. She asked him to lean down and then she sprinkled him with glitter, " Now you're fabulous." she said. 😄 She put glitter on everyone's arms, if they wanted. When it was my turn I asked if I could have some on my head. Her agent said there wasn't time, but Carrie just said "Bah, there's always time for glitter! Come around the table!" and then she laid her hand on my head and glittered it... I almost fainted there and then. Hahaha! She was really funny the whole time there. May the Force be with you, Carrie.
Carrier Fisher was a very deep and compassionate lady who had suffered with her own mental illness for yrs. She wrote about it in one of her books. So she fully understood who others would feel being in some of the same circumstances herself. She was not afraid nor above sharing herself with others to help them feel better about themselves. I wish the whole world knew this about her.
This isn’t surprising to hear at all. Robin Williams seemed like a wonderful person. It’s a shame that sometimes the most sensitive, empathetic people don’t seem made to live in this world. 😢
That's why - empathy can really hurt. He is deeply missed :(
Load More Replies...With Robin it was due to in large part to his Parkinsons that eventually led to his suicide. With Parkinsons similar to Huntingtons one experience wide mood swings, bouts of angry outbursts and depression. I have Huntingtons
I always knew Robin suffered from depression. I could see it in his eyes. Even when he was smiling, his eyes held such sadness. I miss him so much. He was such a lovely man.
Top guy!! Have you seen the photo's he took on that guys phone when he was passed out drunk??? amazing!!!
I have heard so many good things about Hanks. I know several times he has found items like someone's ID in the street while out jogging and has called the owners to tell them he has their stuff. That is a real classy man.
Mara "Matilda" Wilson meta-texting about her (movie) abusive parents is pure sunshine
...down to Middle Earth!!........I'll see myself out >_<
Load More Replies...Ever since i watched Bad Taste i have liked this man, this only makes me like him more.
He was super nice and signed an autograph for me and my friend during the first Hobbit premier - also told us to not get too sunburnt hahaha.
I'm not on twitter but Margaret Cho did this for me when I had gotten laid off very suddenly from my work during the .com crash. Sweetest thing ever.
I have to comment because of the other comments. Sarah Silverman is a brilliant comedian and has a very good heart, judging from what I've read.
I cant stand her. She is the one who started horrible rumors about Steve Perry (Of Journey) Claiming he made some racist remarks! Why would she feel the need to say these things? Her humor is hurtful too and not funny at all. She is no true comedian.
I genuinely hope he would explain the science of alcohol while pulling random props out of nowhere and having the surrounding drunk adults explain the vocabulary.
Load More Replies...He dances pretty well, too. He shows up to do swing dancing sometimes in Pasadena!
The man has Ataxi, look it up. My wife has it. It affects motor skills to the point of where they appear to be drunk.
Maybe he's much nicer with a few in him or maybe he just finally grew up and realized the universe DIDN'T revolve around him. I worked for a silk screening company in Seattle and he wanted some T-shirts done. We had a huge amount of orders on the schedule and he was told he couldn't have his shirts until a day or two later than he wanted. He actually expected us to move him to the front of the line because he was - and I quote "more important than any of the other customers". When his shirts were finished he claimed there was a typo and refused to pay. We showed him the artwork HE HAD SUPPLIED and the mockup HE HAD APPROVED. Thank God we always got paid up front before ordering the actual shirts. We had to eat the cost of the ink and labor. All for 50 freaking shirts. The guy was a total a*****e.
He's adorable and super stylish. Will watch any movie he stars in.
Load More Replies...I would love to meet Hugh Jackman, he seems like such a warm and down to earth guy.
I know the owners of the shop--they said he and his wife are the nicest, most down to earth people, and he told interviewers about their shop.
Hey, great story! I've lived in Montreal for years....where is this restaurant you speak of? Thank you, in advance!
Any man that completely in love and devoted to his wife is inspiring. Funny how the thing that makes him so sexy is also the thing that makes him so unattainable.
I imagine ~~~~~~ that a moment of normalcy duos as comfort soul~food for those who have crossed over to the #LimeLite# ...ultimately to lose this lovely bytheway idle time-line connection with other folk ...........
That made me tear up!! I hope you are no longer lonelt. I was one of those little girls, too.
Loved her since I was 5 and my parents drove my sis and I two hours to the premier of Sound of Music. Wait, no...my mom's bff took us to Mary Poppins the year before - 1964!
I've loved her since I was 5 and saw her in the premiere of Sound of Music.
What kind of dork takes an academic paper to the theater? Oh, God, I think I would do exactly that! Sweet story, and affirming follow up from actor.
He is a really wonderful man. He does so much for charities. And you never hear a bad word about him or his family. His father was the National head of the Scottish church and I think he was brought up to be a really decent person. His dad, Sandy, died about two years ago and I know David was very upset.
I'll bet he was real proud of your accomplishment, too…sign of a great teacher!
Sometimes they're better…can you honestly say it would never go to your head? (I don't think I could ;-)
Load More Replies...Oh man. That must have been ages ago because they don't sell cloves in the US anymore.
As of when? I bought a pack 3 weeks ago in Houston TX

Not beautiful because they came to the conclusion that her suffering and tears were caused by a man wich is a stigma that I would happily work out of the world.
Load More Replies...Just an accidental extra word, I assume. Probably edited the tweet before sending and forgot to remove the first "one".
Load More Replies...Possibly Devito is rich and has short legs and so its worth $120 to get him some wine. Also how much was the wine? If he tipped 20%, $120 would only be $600 worth of wine. $50 a bottle. Not cheap, but not expensive either, especially for a Hollywood veteran. Its a good tip and generous, but it could just be common practice.
I love Danny DeVito but I don't think this qualifies, really. It just shows he's got enough money to tip appropriately on what must have been an expensive case of wine. In fact, I'm finding a lot of these examples show celebrities putting out very little effort - signing autographs, buying lunch for crew - so what? I think the best example is Chris Martin visiting children in hospital without publicity.
That's so weird! Same thing happened to us on a DofE walk back in the late 80's, but that time it was Rod Stewart :)
So British celebrities are driving around helping teens stay dry? Lol!
Load More Replies...Steve Buscemi got his gear on and reunited with his old firefighter pals in New York during 9/11. Didn't do a single interview or photoshoot to push his agenda. He did it entirely out of just being an awesome human being, helping others in need, selflessly.
Steve Buscemi AND Elvis Costello on Halloween. That would blow my mind!
Sinbad flew through DIA in the late 90s quite often and I worked in the United Customer Service terminal. He always called out to me and teased me and made me feel special. He was so nice!
Isn't this the guy that jerks off in public and looks at child porn?......i wouldn't say thats a positive celebrity.
Zachary Quinto talked to me for 10 minutes and then remembered my name and my wife's name when we said goodbye. We were blown away by that.
We live about 2 miles from Indianapolis Raceway Park, and my husband used to work security at the start line. Our great-nephew's house burned down (he was 11), and he had been collecting race memorabilia. When one driver found out, he got the word out to other drivers, and my husband was bombarded with shirts, hats, autographs and other wonderful things from other drivers. The CARS radio network then hosted Cody at a pre-race program where they gave him a huge box of memorabilia, including autographs, Indy 500 programs, a tire from a 500 car, and one of Mario Andretti's uniforms which was burned when he was in a crash. Then they let him wave the green flag to start the race!
I'm not tired of sexual harassment allegations. I'm tired of sexual harassment full stop. So as long as it exists, I'm ready to listen to every single victim coming forward.
Yep - I was thinking the same. While these are sweet stories to hear, tough s**t if it makes you uncomfortable to hear about the s****y sexual harassment stories. It's quite offensive to the victims - "shush now we only want to talk about good stuff now because the other stuff makes us feel crappy". F**k that - flood gate is open. Open your ears, minds and hearts.
Load More Replies...This isn't a good title; it should be something like "This Twitter user tries to show that some celebrities are actually really kind".
"not all celebrities are bad" ..... no s**t?.... But I thought they were ALL bad! Every single one of them! Thanks for the heads up.
I saw T4(it's a British show) presenter Jameela Jamil at a charity event organised by a girl of about 12 that had zero media attention. Jameela went around talking to everyone taking pictures etc just being really nice. She's also insanely beutiful in person and really funny. She apprantly does alot of charity stuff like that.
Some people snatch at celebrity and flaunt their "status" and wealth, proving themselves to be heartless a--holes. It's nice to hear about the totally normal people who also happen to be celebrities.
Some things shouldn't be worried over, like an old man patting a butt, if that destroys a girls well-being for life, she's too delicate for this world. AND, more important, it makes an excellent movement against sexial harrassment look silly and much ado about nothing.
Really? And if the "Old Man" is your boss, or your Uncle, a "girl" should just think it is OK and go on about her business. How young is it OK for an old man to do this to, 12?, 14? When exactly does it cross the line from OK to not OK, when that hand lingers and becomes a grope, and who gets to decide, you or the "old man"? Maybe we should leave it up to the women and girls to decide who touches their bodies and how. The attitude that a little "innocent" groping is OK is a big part of the problem.
Load More Replies...I think this is a terrific invitation. As for sex and harassment? It's all about Power and Selfishness. Our race will never get over these flaws. Some people are just worse than others.
Why do so many posts say "Kill all the Nazis", seemed kinda a weird thing. Twitter thing?
Maybe there are still people who think Nazis are not bad. Maybe they need a reminder.
Load More Replies...Hollywood need no shills. There is no need to talk about the good things in Hollywood right now, they need to clean up their acts first. I hear no liberals talking about the good things of President Trump, or conservatives talking about the good things of President Obama. Why don't we clean house first and THEN find the good things. I'm tired of all of it.
