Portraiture Comes To Life In This Haunting Editorial By Ryan Houssari
For this luxury jewellery watches editorial, I wanted the model to come out of the frame, as if the portrait has come to life. I created a miniature mansion where the model looks larger-than-life against the decorative elements. This concept all traces back to when I was a kid. I lived in my family’s big mansion, where I used to wake up at night and go to the bathroom while crossing a hallway filled with grand portraits and statues. They used to freak me out! I would imagine them looking at me and snooping when no one is around at midnight. I wanted to revisit this fear by creating beautiful, albeit haunting, images.

What unique photos! Is there any particular importance of the watches you used? Before I read the description I almost thought these were professional advertisements for specialty watches! You display them beautifully. I can also see how you imagined these as a kid with your night fright experiences! great work.
