One does not simply cross the road, especially if one is a… sloth.
The unexpected passerby went on an adventure in Quevedo, central Ecuador. But the sloth’s engine ran out in the middle of the road. That’s when the local police went on the most adorable rescue mission and commemorated it by posting pictures on their Facebook page. The little traveller had gained many fans who were glad to know that the story ended well.
But the most important question still remains: why did the sloth cross the road..?

Although the sloth was scared and clinging to the post…
..it kept the positive attitude…
…and tried to be cooperative

Share on FacebookHow scared could u be...to hug piece of metal like this?...It's not adorable. It's sad. He's not supposed to be somewhere near road....
True. But the cute part is that he's safe now because he was found by the right people, who could just to ignore the poor animal, but chose to save it instead. As for how it ended up in a place like this, well, animals are curious, they can get lost sometimes.

These are my favorite creatures on the face of the Earth. Their habitat is becoming endangered. Sloths are so sweet! Help save them!
What a wonderful man, we should all help out any sentient being in need. Compassion at its finest. <3
So many sloths get killed in Central America while crossing roads. Their jungle habitat has been sliced up by roads, so when they're trying to move from one part of the forest to another, they have to cross the street. For the slow-moving sloth, it's almost certain death. Many, many baby sloths become orphans this way, when their mothers die in the search for food.
Dude looks drunk and happy, like, hey what's up, Officer! Can I jus' hang' 'ere for a while?
The poor thing didn't keep a 'positive attitude'. That 'smile' is simply how their faces are shaped. Stupid humans.
So glad he (or she) is now safe. Makes you wonder why it decided to come away from its habitat as I've heard they hate populated areas and there's not much busier than a main road. Thank god for the kind hearted policeman.
The guy looks drunk and happy :) Like, hey, what's up, Mr. Officer! Can I jus' hang 'ere for a minute?
